My husband John and myself operated Annie's Bed and Breakfast in Springville for 17 years prior to moving up the hill to Ponderosa. We both love the quiet mountains and have moved our Custom saddle shop 'Boz Saddlery' up here. Guests are welcome to watch John 'Boz' create a beautiful custom handmade saddle and also Equestrian gear. I help John in the saddle shop also. We have riding clinics and lessons available for quests with their own horses. Come up and relax and share our beautiful piece of paradise. The picture is us in costume for our artist neighbor for one of his shows. We were creatures in the snow.
Owner purchased this Cabin in 2001
Why Owner chose Ponderosa
I grew up with a cabin in Camp Nelson (12 miles down from Ponderosa) and loved this area. We looked all over the north west states and found this property in our own backyard. We are 4 hours from the beach, LA and 6 hours from SF. Great spot and lots or nothing to do, you can make the choice.
What makes this Cabin unique
We have the most beautiful redwoods 10 miles from us, fishing a couple of miles, hiking, birdwatching. If you don't have a horse of your own, there is Quaking Aspen pack station that will take you for day rides or you can pack back into the back country. Trails, trails and miles or more trails for hiking, mountain biking and in the wintertime a great place for snowmobiling, cross country skiing and snowshoeing. Our area has a lot to offer and it isn't crowded.
Sports & Adventure Activities
Beautiful and secluded cabin to spend family time
We had a good time during our stay and appreciate the attention from the hosts. The place is beautiful and has a lot of possibilities for outdoor activities.
A few things that you should consider are: extremely limited access to Internet, there is no phone reception in the area, so you rely on the cabin's satellite internet, which has a lot of restrictions. The cabin comfortably accommodates no more than 4 people. The extra sleeping cabin is not completely finished, but it is functional. The best feature of the cabin is the kitchen and dinning area, which are fully equipped and spacious if you like cooking during your stay. The roll-out beds are a bit uncomfortable, because the mattresses are too thin. I would still recommend this place for a small family that would like to have some nice time in a beautiful area.
What a beautiful and tranquil place!
We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves here. From cooking pancakes on the fancy griddle to making smores in the firepit, we had an amazing time. We'll definitely be coming back, thank you Ann and Boz!
Thank you for the nice review. We look forward to your return and good luck in your new adventure up north.
We really enjoyed our stay at Piggly Pines. The view of the meadow is amazing. The cabin is perfect, clean, has a great kitchen, and a wood stove that works great! Annie And John were super attentive to our needs. Tons of hike in the area that we really enjoyed. Idyllic place that we hope we get a chance to return to.
Thank you Annie and John!
Thank you so much for the kind words. We look forward to your next visit, still lots of hikes to try. Thank you again for staying with us.
Beautiful surroundings and wonderful accommodations!
In the heart of Sequoia National Monument. Plenty to see with ten minutes of Piggly Pines. Excellent place to relax and unwind. Beautiful breeze constantly passes through and compliments the July sun. Boz and Annie are wonderful hosts and Mohawk is such a kind dog! Would love to experience Piggly Pines in the winter after a great summer visit.
Thank you for the nice review. We look forward to you returning in the winter, it becomes a winter wonderland .
Gorgeous meadow nestled in the mountains Great big high end kitchen for great family meals!
Couldn't have been nicer. And the hosts were great. We will continue to return with the family as often as we can. Several great hikes and sights and fishing all very close. But the area isn't over run by tourists. Shhh don't tell anybody;).
Thank you and glad you enjoyed it here, it was nice seeing you guys again. Hope to see you next year. Ann
