This was the best VRBO that we have ever experienced. The house had absolutely everything we needed and more. We first chose this location due to it being near the park where our son was participating in a tournament. The weekend happened to fall on our anniversary so we decided to choose a place that we could enjoy ourselves and fish/crab at. The pier was absolutely wonderful. We did have to ask for some crabbing advice as we had zero experience before arriving and our host was so kind to give us some tips. After getting our fishing licenses, we definitely enjoyed catching crabs.Fishing- I managed to hook my dream fish (flounder) twice, but picked a pole with line too weak to handle the weight. Unfortunately I lost them, but we managed to catch catfish, redfish and mullet. Even though the mullet are bait fish, our son LOVED catching them because they were so easy. He was reeling them in constantly. The house itself if beautiful, but we loved the outdoor amenities the most. The couch and living room furniture was super comfortable. The kitchen was extremely well stocked with absolutely anything you needed. We enjoyed having access to smart TV's to stay caught up on our favorite shows. The location was extremely convenient. We were able to explore New Orleans one evening. There were plenty of wonderful dining options around and we can highly recommend Fiery Crab. Thanks again for the wonderful stay. We hope our tournament is in Slidell next year so we can come back.

Loved our stay

We really enjoyed our stay. The pier was amazing especially at night with the light on. We caught so many fishes. We had a blast. The crabs were giant and we caught enough to have a crayfish/crab boiled. We definitely will be staying at this place again.

Great Stay

We had an amazing stay. The fishing off the dock was great! We caught plenty of legal size redfish and speckled trout along with flounder. We caught tons of blue crab. Crabbing Heaven

There were about 15 crab traps there, and we caught more than 35 crabs over the 3 days we stayed. There were also fishing poles that can be used and we caught 4 trouts just by leaving the poles over nights. Would love to stay there again if ever come back to New Orleans.

We could not have picked a better location for our stay in Louisiana. The house was lovely and included everything we needed during our vacation, including crab pots and fishing gear that we used on the impressive dock, which had great lighting for evening fishing and was perfect for day lounging. Beds were comfortable and the kitchen had every appliance and tool we needed. We celebrated my birthday on this trip and also traveled to New Orleans and Bay Saint Louis, which are both only 30-40 minutes away. The location and amenities were perfect and any question or request we had of our just was immediately addressed. Highly recommend this property and host!

Amazing View!

Absolutely perfect place for our family. This home was comfortable and spacious for our family. The best part is the outside though. The pier leading out the back door goes as far as the eye can see. There are fishing poles and crab traps for your use. We used the fire pit every night. We highly recommend eating at Blue Crab. It’s just down the road. We simply loved our stay. Christina is a wonderful host that made the trip that much more enjoyable.

Perfect lakefront getaway

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at this lakefront rental. From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the breathtaking views of the lake. It was something out of a postcard. One of the highlights of our trip was catching crabs right of the pier. It was so much fun and the rental had all the equipment needed The location is also perfect. It's close enough to New Orleans that we were able to enjoy all the city has to offer, but far enough away to escape the hustle and bustle. We enjoyed the best of both worlds. The house itself was clean, well maintained and had all the amenities we needed. The owners were friendly and provided great recommendations for local activities and restaurants.

The location was exceptional! We had a great time fishing and enjoying subling fam time together! The pics online depicted the rental when newly built, but is now weather worn, but pier is well built and sturdy! The walk back and forth is not for "couch potatoes" bc the incline from pier to house can be challenging. The front stairs are steep, and could use step strips for depth perception safety, especially at night. There is a side ramp to pier but grassy area from concrete carport to ramp makes manuevering supply carts to ramp a little challenging, but the ramp was a plus for us! Ramp is not for couch potatoes either! As another reviewer noted, the house is in use when not rented bc "personal" belongings were left visible to renters and master had no closet to hang clothing. Other closets and laundry room were cluttered with "personal" owner belongings that prevented renter usage. The throws and blankets in living area were not for rental usage bc they were previous person usage scented. The kitchen drawers were typical owner usage clutter, but if you searched you could find things you needed. Bring your own toilet tissue, there was none in second bathroom. There were no towels in second bathroom, some well used ones in master. Check in and out was great! The owner was very responsive and helpful to us especially for location of outdoor light switches! Overall, our purpose was met, to fish & spend time with family. We enjoyed our stay and would book again!

We had the BEST time and thoroughly enjoyed our 3 nights on the lakefront! Easy drive over the old bridge into NOLA but we only drove in once (to watch the Saints game) because we were having such a good time relaxing and enjoying the view, and so much fun catching fish and crabs that we didn't want to leave! The host is friendly, easy to communicate with, and very responsive. Check in was simple and although we couldn't take advantage of it, we were offered an early check in but we were asked to check out an hour earlier than advertised, which was still reasonable, 10am. The house was well appointed and was as pictured and described. Beds and bedding were comfortable. Remember all waterfront homes are raised, so expect to climb some stairs. There is a "ramped" access to the back of the house from the pier for those unable to climb stairs. The size and condition of the pier was amazing! Thankfully the weather cooperated so that we were able to spend most of our time outdoors, even "picniced' on the wooden bench set up on the pier. Guys were out til wee hours of the morning catching ALL kinds of fish at night with the lights. I wish we had put the traps out as soon as we arrivedl After only being in the water one night we caught 3 beautiful crabs too! I have family in Slidell who fish regularly - even they were impressed with the number and variety of fish we caught. Highly recommend staying on the northshore and enjoying LakeLife ! We are planning to return in the spring!

Could have been better

Cleanliness of inside home and dock was very cluttered and dirty. Clothes inside the washer and dirty bedding. Cockroaches inside the home. Had to buy a coffeemaker because parts of coffeemaker were missing. No instructions for TV and parental controls on TV limited viewing. No communication for anything regarding guidance on TV or trash pickup. Food was in the cabinet and fridge that you didn’t have room for own things. A lot of personal items through out home made it feel like we were invading the home instead of rental property. Made the stay feel uncomfortable and would not recommend.

We had a wonderful and fun time at this property! Dock is beautiful with georgous sunsets over the water. So nice and peaceful! The house is in a very quiet location in Slidell, but close to New Orleans and so many attractions. We caught a lot of fish off the dock. Owners were very helpful and responsive to any questions we had. Plenty of space in the house as well. We definitely plan on a return trip in a couple of years. My only suggestion for owners would be to have a guest book with wifi, local restaurants, etc. And to neaten up closets, drawers, and laundry room to clean up some of the clutter to allow guests to access areas to hang clothes, easier access to washer/dryer, and access to drawers for storage. This was a very minor inconvenience though! We still loved the house and area!
