The cabin is amazing. Buddy is a great host and very helpful. We enjoyed feeding the ducks and fishing off the deck. Lots of swings to choose from to enjoy the view of the lake!

Perfect weekend get away

This is the perfect place for a weekend get away. Right on the water and quiet but close enough to town if you need something. Katy and Buddy are always welcoming and make sure everything is in order for your stay

Enjoyed our stay, Buddy was very helpful and available. Great cabin feel with easy access to the lake and close to marinas and bars/restaurants. Very peaceful and would recommend for small families or groups. Cheers!

Relaxing retreat

This is a gem of a getaway cabin. We will be coming back here. Lovely little beach, great dock, everywhere there are swings and rocking chairs, and the beds are comfy. We needed a relaxing getaway from. Our family histle and this place and its proprieters were just the ticket. Fun little surprises all throughout the property. Easy communication with Katy. Having shades on all the windows is a huge bonus!

Big Brother is watching!

Upon arrival my husband and I hadn’t even walked into the property before The Owner was standing in the front doorway. He proceeded to tell us where everything was and tell us about previous guests and problems he had with them. He stayed for a while. It was odd and my husband and I just smiled and nodded with our bags still in our hands. After he left we realized there was cheese left on the counter and a half drunk sprite in the fridge. In addition there were spider webs everywhere Inside the home and literally covering every part of the outside of the home. In order to use anything outside we had to take towels and wipe down everything from spiders eggs, webs and wasp nests that had been built inside everything. It’s the country but this was excessive for it to be a rental and for the property owner to literally live right next door. All of this happening would not have warranted a bad review in my opinion. However, on Saturday my children were outside playing croquet and ran into a wasp nest on the property by the tree. The wasps started flying and my kids used the mallets to fend off the wasps. Owner was inside his home but was clearly watching and runs out of his home and proceeds to yell at my kids and curse at them. He yelled “it’s for playing croquet not for beating the **BLEEP**out of the tree!!!”. Obviously they were not just beating the tree but trying to kill the wasps. Several times while my kids were outside He was watching them as they played and would just glare at them. On Saturday night hours later my daughter was playing frisbee with her dad and the frisbee went on the roof. Dad put her on his shoulder to try to reach it and couldn’t. About 30 seconds later He came over with a ladder because, again, he was watching us from inside his house while we were outside playing. It was an extremely unsettling feeling. Then Sunday when we were packing up to leave and he left a note on our car saying standard rates were only for 1-4 guests and he was charging extra because we went beyond that amount. First of all I have a family of 5 and the reservation included them from the begin but I messaged the owner prior, getting additional approval for two more who were coming from out of town to watch my daughter’s dance competition which is why we were in town, and we were told that was fine. There was NO mention of additional charges for anyone AT ALL. Overall we were VERY uncomfortable and feel it’s NOT a place for children!!!

Beautiful cabin and views

Wonderful relaxing lakefront cabin. Katy was amazing to work with. Even sent me links to places near by to eat. House has everything you will need. You can tell they love this home by all the helpful notes.

Mixed Feelings

There are some great parts and some not so great parts of staying here, so I will list my pro and cons so you can make an informed choice: PROS: * Location: It is a fabulous spot on the lake with a large yard for lots of activites. * Owners: They are friendly and easily accessible. CONS * BUGS: Spiders, ants and wasps, OH MY!! Spider webs covered every outdoor surface, from windows to seats to docks. We spent 30 minutes brooming off surfaces so that we could relax. We found a wasp nest in the bucket next to the bench and another in the eave. * BEDDING: The beds were extremely soft and the pillows were worthless. Everyone, from Grandpa to the teens, complained of back/neck pain and uncomfortable sleep. *UPKEEP: With old furniture and stained walls, its not a fancy place for the price. *MONITORING: The owner watch you from their windows when you are outside. Inside, there are notes everywhere that made you feel watched inside. We loved the lake and the yard -- the rest not so much. Hope this helps you make a fully informed decision.

Nice spacious cabin with great fishing

This cabin is very roomy, with plenty of sleeping spots. Beautiful inside, and relaxing outside. All you need is food and fishing equipment and you're set. It even has a washer and dryer. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely visit again. Thank you.

Clean and cozy

Very relaxing, clean and beautiful property. The owners thought of everything you’d need for your stay, very well stocked. Property is right on the water with nice dock and large yard for outdoor activities. Great location, short drive to town for dinner, groceries and bait shop! Also short drive for a night in DFW. Owners were friendly, responsive and very accommodating. Highly recommend!

Cozy spot on the lake!

Spent a very rainy NYE here. Couldn’t have asked for a nicer vista considering the dreary weather! Although we were not able to enjoy the outddor fire pit, we were delighted to make use of the indoor wood stove. Fully equipped kitchen, comfy beds, great hosts. No wifi but AT&T cell service worked just fine. And we really enjoyed watching the many neighbors shoot off fireworks instead of fighting crowds at the bars. A truly memorable way to send off 2020. Thank you to our lovely hosts!

We purchased the home next door in 2002 and couldn't resist the opportunity to buy this property. We originally bought our first property with the thought of moving out full time after retirement. After three years of spending more time here than in town, we retired early and moved out to the lake. It's like living in vacation mode year round.
