Granada Del Mar condominium is a 36 Unit beach front property Located west of Christiansted. 2 Bedrooms, one bedroom has a King bed with 2 nightstands, the other bedroom has two Full beds with one nightstand. Each bedroom has a full closet, a dresser and full bathrooms with tile showers. Our condo has been recently renovated, in 2013, with all new Kitchen & Bath cabinets. New appliances include refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, microwave and washer & dryer. We have gas grill. Air conditioning is available, although with the awesome trade winds it is rarely needed.The property has large pool and small club house with ping pong. A putting green is also available. Neighborhood is quiet and relaxing. Swimming beach, restaurant and bar are only .3 - .4 miles away for a 2-3 minute walk. All beaches in St Croix are public.

We live state side in Massachusetts. We own and operate a family construction company. Hoping some day to spend some of our retirement on the beautiful island of St Croix. We have recently renovated our condo in 2013 and hope you enjoy it, too!

We acquired this property from my parents in 2000. We have visited St Croix many times prior to purchasing it. Simply, we love the beauty of the island and the fact that it is less touristy than other isla nds. If we choose to, the other US Virgin Islands are only a Ferry or Sea Plane ride away. The spirit of St Croix, happy pleasant people, uncrowded beaches and sunshine have kept us attracted.

What makes this condo unique

We can always close our eyes and hear the sound of the ocean tapping the shore from our condo. The breeze has a very comforting feeling for us.

Visiting St.Croix

Recently my family needed a place to stay in Christiansted located in USVI St. Croix to attend the home going services for our dear mother 94yrs of age.The arrangements were made at the last minute. Searched thru the internet and stumbled over Granada Del Mar specifically Estate La Grande Princess who had the associated dates interested available. Without hesitation I had contacted the condo. Management representative Robin replied along with the owners the following day and confirmed the request. Their communication was superb. As we arrived to St. Croix we were greeted at a centralized location during late hours after our late flight by Robin. She escorted us to the condo and explained the known issue with the Wifi. The location,furniture, updated kitchen, appliances, bedrooms,updated bathrooms, laundry appliances were more than satisfactory. In the morning we were greeted with a spectacular view of the ocean front at our rear door step.The incredible trade winds, when you open the sliding glass door. This eliminated the tremendous use of air conditioning. The beach front at the location had extreme winds which was felt all across the entire island. We were unable to swim on the beach at the location because of the high strong waves. Didn't want to put ourselves in danger so we decided to enjoy water activities at other locations we were familiar with such as Hotel on the Cay.We would like to truly thank owners Bob & Lauri Scally for their gracious hospitality. Life on a beach

The property is well-maintained and holds the amenities/equipment as described. Robin, the local contact is very helpful and cheerful. The photo does not do the balcony and beach-view justice; the panorama is spectacular. You are on a beach (granted not a swimming beach) but you can hear the waves rolling night and day and you can walk the beach looking for sea glass. The sun hits the patio in the morning, and when you are tired of the sun in the afternoon, the roof provides a good spot for shade (and some sun still!). The community is very quiet and calm with no nightlife activities to tempt you to do anything other than relax. I highly recommend this condo. You will enjoy being unplugged!

I do have a few points for consideration:

a) When I visited, internet was limited to the office area of the condo (a walk outside the unit) during a very strict time schedule. If internet is important, you should ask about access before booking. (This situation may resolve itself in time from the recovery of the 2017 hurricane season).

b) When I visited , cable tv was not functioning - again as a result of hurricanes. There is a DVD for movies, but if this being in touch with news or easy home entertainment a necessity for you, then you should check before booking that it is or is not operational and make adjustments. (Again, this could change in time as the island recovers from the hurricanes of 2017).

c) The pool is larger than I am used to in condos, simple, yet lovely -blue water, clean and uncrowded. There are lounge chairs around the pool, but they are not movable. They all in the sun, face one direction and you can only slightly adjust for the sun. There is no shade at the poolside - the building beside the pool does provide shade at points during the day, but the lounge chairs are not positioned in that area. A solution would be to purchase an umbrella or some type of shade equipment and/or purchase a lounge chair that you can take to the pool and move around.

d) The patio at the condo is lovely. I only wish it, too, had a lounge chair. There is a table with chairs, but not conducive to stretching out and taking a nap outdoors while the shore sounds surround you. Again, maybe planning on purchasing one from a local store upon arrival will set you up for your stay (or maybe the owners will add this to their otherwise very well furnished condo). Or, maybe this is not important to you.

Wonderfully appointed, comfortable and convenient.

We loved our time in St. Croix and the condo was very comfortable and conveniently located to the cities of Christiansted and Fredricksted and surrounding destinations. The property managers, Robin and Walt Frazier were extremely helpful from the moment we stepped off the plane; and they were responsive to our questions, making Island recommendations, answering questions and addressing any issues! Having the ocean at your back door is wonderful. There is a little Beach area and the only thing missing were lounge chairs to soak in some rays from the patio. The owners approved a nice new gas grill while we were there - to be enjoyed by all who come to visit! The condo has everything one needs; it’s clean and the kitchen and bathrooms seem to have been recently updated. We can highly recommend this unit!

Quiet Paradise, Walk out to Beach

We rented Laurie's place for two weeks in Feb 2017. LOCATION: 20 min from airport just west of Christiansted (we were met at airport by wonderful local hostess Pam, that we then followed to Condo, which was nice since our first time driving on the left side). A 36-unit older complex at the end of a quiet road and right on the water, and in relatively good shape and very quiet. The Condo we rented is ground floor, with a walkout entrance to the sand and surf. Note you can't really swim here (splash okay), but the views and sounds are amazing (walk a little right to find a swimming beach - all beaches are public). THE UNIT: recently updated, nice galley type kitchen with good selection of items, newer appliances and stacked washer/dryer. Comfortable furniture and beds. Look at the pictures on this site...what you see is what you get (master tile shower now has glass doors), a great place to call home for your stay. Very clean, fresh paint, well stocked initially. A good outdoor sitting area with usable grill (move it to lower patio without roof when using). 4 beach chairs in closet if you want to sit on sand or in surf. We mostly left the glass sliders open and let the ocean breeze wash through (you will need to open guest bedroom windows also, but all is screened). A/C works good, we usually had it on late evening for bedtime. You have an assigned parking space. FAV THINGS WE DID: Buck Island Snorkeling with Caribbean Sea Adventures (Cpt. Megan, Jeff and Emily were the best ever crew!), all 4 US National Park Service sites, snorkeling and beach time at Cane Bay, street Festival (4x per year) with vendors and Moko Jumbies (dancers on stilts), Monday night Buffet and Show at The Palms at Pelican Bay (10 min walk, also the Jumbies). EATERIES: So many great places, all very casual, many open air. We ate at: Angry Nates on Boardwalk, Breezez, Polly's at the Pier (Frederiksted), Flyer's at Salt River Bay Marina, The Palms at Pelican Bay, Spratnet Beach Bar on Cane Bay, Blue Water Terrace (lobster!), 40 Strand - all good! BEST STORES: Cost U Less (food and drink) and K-Mart (all else). BOTTOM LINE: When we come back to St. Croix, we would try to rent Laurie's place was a perfect stay!
