About Charles Hare

We live in Seattle area, and love Flagsatff and the mountains.

Charles Hare purchased this house in 2006

Why Charles Hare chose Flagstaff

There is nothing comparable to waking up in the mountains surrounded by beautiful pines and breathing the pure air. The house features vaulted ceilings and an open, flowing floor plan centered around the kitchen area that creates an engaging place to spend time with family and friends. Flagstaff is a friendly town full of history, and still retains a strong sense of local authenticity with minimal dilution from national chains.

What makes this house unique

Activities are only limited by one's imagination. One can walk to golfing, swimming, tennis and lunch; or drive a few miles on back roads to hike among the cliff dwellings at Walnut Canyon, or a few miles in another direction to hike to protected but undeveloped preserve with pictograph covered river canyon walls, or head downtown Flagstaff for a hearty breakfast before heading out to hike or bike - name your pleasure, from challenging to novice, and there's a hiking or biking trail for you. If relaxation is in order, you can't beat an afternoon on the shaded deck reading and watching the golfers go by or the squirrels and birds playing in the trees around you. Flagstaff has many very good dining options, an expanding craft beer brewery community and entertaining venues.

Snowbowl is 30 minutes by car.

Sedona is 45 minutes via Hwy 89A through Oak Creek Canyon.

The Grand Canyon South Rim via I-40 to Williams then north on AZ 64 or via Hwy 180 is 80 or 90 minutes. The East Rim via Hwy 89A North & 64 West is about 90 minutes. The complete loop takes 3.5 hours without stops.

Reviews

This is one of my all time favorite cabins just miles from the Grand Canyon.

VRBO Bear stayed here

Mar 15, 2018

If there is one place that cannot be experienced through the lens of a camera or YouTube video, it is the majestic beauty of the mountains and canyons of Arizona. The Cabin on the 14th Tee is on my all-time favorite list of cabins to return to in the future. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful, with the homes nestled around native pines that frame every view from the back wall of windows and sliding doors. The spacious floor plan and multiple living areas provide ample room for bears and cubs to relax together and just enough separation for time apart. The library includes an extensive collection of books, movies, and board games. I have played my fair share of Scrabble, but this is the first time I experienced the Onyx Edition. The kitchen is well stocked for cooking a family meal, with modern appliances and a large dining room table. With a busy schedule, there isn’t always time to cook at home. I will admit that Bears sometimes get funny looks at restaurants, but we felt right at home at Brandy’s on Cedar Avenue. Google it for bakery and food pics, trust me. Flagstaff is an ideal jumping off point for day trips to the Grand Canyon, Sedona, Oak Creek Canyon, and Canyon de Chelly. There are also local sights like Walnut Canyon National Monument where you can experience ancient cliff dwellings and amazing views in a very accessible location. I did have one regret when leaving The Cabin on the 14th Tee…not adding a few extra days to the stay. Thank you, Charles and Zoe, for a wonderful and unforgettable vacation!

Beautiful location and roomy accommodations.

  • 4 of 5

The deck patio was our favorite place to hang out. The stay was enjoyable and we would come back.

There were some minor defects in the amenities such as ripped sofa pillows and blown light bulb in the closet. Also a more through cleanup of spider webs in the livings spaces. With some minor maintenance this can all be fixed.

Escape from the heat

  • 4 of 5

Lovely cabin on 14th tee with tall pines and nice view of the fairway from the deck that stretches the entire width of the cabin. Nicely appointed interior & kitchen. Love that it has a large garage. About 5 minutes from Flagstaff mall including Harkin's and a Safeway. One of the sliding doors to the deck was almost impossible to operate and there were some missing light bulbs. Had those not been an issue I would have given 5 stars.

Quiet and relaxing with good central location

  • 4 of 5

Our family had such a great time staying at this home. It was so quiet while we stayed and enjoyed sitting on the back porch in the mornings smelling pine trees and watching the birds. There was plenty of space in the living areas for spreading out. Liked the vaulted ceilings and windows all across the back. The master bedroom is plenty big and another bedroom with the queen bed was a decent size. The last 2 bedrooms were on the small side but just fine for the kids.

I also liked the nice neighborhood and quick access to the interstate. Loved eating at Oregano's Italian restaurant close by.

We had everything we needed. Thank you for sharing your home with us!

A beautiful slice of paradise

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this house for our sons NAU graduation. We were very impressed with the aesthetics. This home is older but has been updated and was comfy for our family. The view of the golf course and outside deck are fantastic. We would recommend this for a getaway any time of year!

Nice propetry in Flagstaff.

  • 4 of 5

We were there in the winter during a snow storm. Location of the home was excellent and surrounding area was beautifully covered in snow. Very steep driveway was sometimes difficult to get out of during icy and snowy conditions. Overall house was nice though bedroom on opposite side of the home got very cold and bathroom was extremely tight. Home is well furnished and well stocked. We would stay there again when in Flagstaff.
