Parisian Hideaway for 2-4 Guests with Private Terrace!

Bedrooms Studio
Space 300 sq. ft.
Property type apartment
Minimum Stay 4 - 5 nights

About the property

Studio with Double Bed + Convertible bed, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2-4)

Welcome to our intimate, peaceful hideaway tucked inside a typical Parisian building on the rue de Douai, just beside the front slope of Montmartre and the bright lights of the Moulin Rouge.

This airy studio has high ceilings (3 meters high!) and large windows, opening out onto a small, private terrace (photo with red umbrella shows the terrace and furniture). The terrace is the perfect escape for a relaxing break from the city and a glass of wine in the anytime! The apartment sleeps 2-4 adults, with a high-quality double bed in the bedroom nook and a deluxe double sofabed designed for daily use which is as comfortable as a traditional bed. The bedroom area also has plenty of storage (behind the white curtain in the photo) for both hanging and folding clothing, and the curtains in front close for privacy. We can also provide an infant travel crib at no extra charge for children under 2 years old.

The large eat-in kitchen features full-size appliances (four-burner stove, oven, clothes washer, refrigerator with freezer) and accesses the courtyard and bathroom. The kitchen has a modern dining table and 5 chairs. The modern bathroom has a sink, vanity area with storage, toilet and is equipped with a large bathtub with shower.

Step outside the apartment and you'll find your new neighborhood to lively, convenient, funky and increasingly trendy. The area is bursting with boulangeries, greengrocers, fromageries, boucheries, wine vendors, flower shops - as well several modern grocery stores making it easy to purchase the essentials for feeling at home in the apartment. Just outside the door and to your left you'll find the sweet little park at Square Berlioz, across from the excellent boulangerie. Take a two-minute walk north you'll find yourselves in Montmartre on the market street rue Lepic and cafes and shopping on rue des Abesses. A two-minute walk also leads you to two different metro stops (Blanche or Place de Clichy) and several bus stops (74, 68, 80, 95, 30, 54) which will take you anywhere in Paris quickly and easily.

I look forward to greeting you in Paris and helping you settle into your new petit paradise on rue de Douai!

Why Paula Caballero chose Paris Arr. 9 (Opera)

Paris is the most beautiful city in the world! Who wouldn't want a second home in a city filled with amazing food, architecture and culture?

What makes this apartment unique

Having a private outdoor space is an unusual treat in Paris! I hope guests use and enjoy the terrace as often as possible. The apartment is also unique in that it is on the ground floor but is very quiet as it is tucked back on the courtyard side of the building. It also happens to get plenty of good light due to the terrace, which is a luxury in any Parisian apartment!

Nice apartment, great location and nice owner

  • 5 of 5

I and my wife stayed almost three weeks in this apartment. The location is great, close to Metro and bus stations and in waking distance to many restaurants, supermarkets, bakeries, etc. The apartment is clean and organized. The kitchen is well-equipped to fix a dinner. Paula is pleasant, friendly and helpful person. She promptly responded to our call when we needed her help. We will recommend this apartment to our friends who want to visit the beautiful Paris.

Thank you Paula

Perfect location and quiet!

  • 4 of 5

This studio apartment was in an ideal area and we loved the terrace area so our family of 4 were not crawling all over each other! The beds were comfortable and the studio had a good use of space! Paula's tip to use the bus instead of subway was great as you do really see Paris that way. Lots of cafés, groceries and bakeries around. Easy access to buses and subway! Appreciated the fan!

Comfortable and clean

  • 5 of 5

I stayed here for four nights with my wife, two year old daughter and my mother in law while we visited Paris. I was pleasantly suprised to find that the apartment was as deacribed and depicted in the ad. The apartment was very cozy and felt like a home away from home. The apartment catered to our needs and accomodated the four of us just fine. The house was clean, and had all of the necessities we like to have while travelling. On our arrival we were greeted by someone on behalf of the owner. She showed us around the house and took time to share some of her reccomendations while touring around Paris. The location of the apartment could not be better. The Blanche metro station is a short walk away and will take you to basically anywhere you need to be within minutes. There is a grocery store and a starbucks around the corner, and there is no shortage of theatre's, shops, bakeries or restaurants nearby. Overall our experience here was fantastic and we wish we could have stayed longer. I would recommend this apartment to friends. I should also mention that while we were visiting, I contacted the owner through e-mail as I had a question about the apartment. The owner responded in a timely manner and provided me with the information I required. I was also provided with a direct phone number for the owner as well as a local contact in the event that we required someone to come to the apartment to show us or help us with something. We would come back.

Rent this studio - you will not regret it!

  • 5 of 5

This is my fifth rental through Frenchy Rentals and is now my favorite! The studio does not feel small at all and is perfect for 2 adults or 2 adults and one child. The studio sits in the back of the building so I heard no noise from the street. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was a nice size with plenty of (very) hot water. The kitchen had everything I needed to make dinner a few nights and the washer/dryer came in handy although I air dried my clothes. I cannot say enough about the studio's location. Once you close the door to the building, you are literally 30 seconds from the corner of Douai and Blanche, where you will find a patisserie/boulangerie, a bistro, a Japanese restaurant and I think a small bar that serves food (could have been a small bistro). There is a grocery store 2 blocks from the corner. If you walk on Blanche heading toward the Moulin Rouge, there is a cute bistro on the left side of the street, very close to the bus stop (the 74 I think) and on the corner of Blanche and Boulevard de Clichy you will find a restaurant, a pharmacy and Starbucks. From this corner you are about 1 minute from the Blanche metro stop, perfect for taking the RER from CDG to Gare du Nord. There is a Monoprix across the street from the metro stop. If you cross Blanche and continue on Douai, you will find 2 more restaurants on the corner of Douai and Rue Fontaine and a BBQ restaurant a few buildings before the corner. Turn right on Rue Fontaine and you are no more than 10 minutes away from the St. Georges metro stop (the green line) and you will pass a grocery store, bistros and a boulangerie. Now head in the opposite direction once you leave the apartment building and there is another patisserie/boulangerie about 2 buildings over as well as a on the corner there is a mini market on the corner and a bistro. Continue on Douai and you will reach Boulevard de Clichy. Turn left for the Place de Clichy metro stop (the light blue line) and you will find more restaurants, mini markets and a 24 hour pharmacy. The Place de Clichy metro stop is about a 10 minute walk from the studio. There are a few souvenir shops on the Montmartre side of Rue de Clichy that sell converters if you need a charger from your cell phone. I'm a woman in my early 40's who travels alone and I felt safe walking back to the studio at night because of the activity from the 3 restaurants on the corner of Douai and Blanche.

We are definitely coming back; and the next time we are moving in!

  • 5 of 5

My mother and I had a wonderful week in this perfect little apartment. Within a day, we felt like we lived in Paris! It was the perfect size for a two of us, it was easy to book and find, and we felt the price was reasonable for such an ideal location! I have been to Paris before, but this was my absolute favourite visit. We walked everywhere, and loved that we could take the metro back in the evening and have a stop so close to the apartment.

My mom loved that it was on the first floor and had everything from a hairdryer to a kettle to a washing machine. I loved the comfortable bed, the hot shower, the lovely terrace for wine and cheese, and the clever use of space in the apartment. We fell in love with the neighbourhood, trying out all the local cheese shops, boulangeries, and cafes. Honestly, a week wasn't even close to enough! I was just settling in to the rhythm and pace of life in Paris when it was time to go.

We also appreciated reading the recommended restaurants from others in the guestbook, the easy maps and references materials that Paula had left out to help us explore the city, and the thoughtful welcome upon arrival. Paula was an excellent communicator, facilitating the booking process, and answering questions from beginning to end.

If you go, take a lot of time to enjoy Montmartre (we loved the walking tour we took of it, exploring the hidden alleys and streets); definitely go for a run/walk in Parc Monceau, enjoy a meal at Potager du Pierre Therrier, have a croissant at Gortran Cherrier, and take some time to enjoy the apartment terrace with some delicious fresh food from the neighbourhood!

If we could, we would come back again and the next time, stay much longer!
