We have visited this location multiple times and the owners are very welcoming and helpful. This lodge is perfect for our large family with plenty of games and space for us to enjoy. We also love the care takers dog Zappa that keeps watch over us while we’re there.
Great place to stay! Very clean and spacious, perfect for a gathering of friends or family. The property is beautiful and quiet. If the weather keeps you indoors there are plenty of games and activities to enjoy as well.
This is a great location for family get together or reunion. The property easily fits a large group. We had a large Thanksgiving dinner, the big kitchen with 2 ovens was perfect. The large gathering space had lots of games and perfect for socializing.
Our stay was great. The whole family had a wonderful time.We did get rain, but there was so much to do in the lodge that we hardly noticed. This location is on our short list for a return next year.
We were looking for a lodge to hold a large group of dads and sons and this was the perfect fit! A great place with plenty of room. Hosts were excellent and the space is amazing.
The little lodge is a great place to stay with your extended family! There was plenty of space to spread out but also plenty of space when we were all together. It is out in the country and very peaceful! There is a lot to do basketball, volleyball, a pool table and more. We are already talking about a future trip back to the little lodge.
We hosted our company retreat at this property and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. It provided the perfect setting to relax, recharge, and enjoy quality time together as a team. The kitchen was well-equipped and ideal for preparing group meals, while the game room was a big hit—offering plenty of entertainment with all the games provided. A truly comfortable and fun space for both work and play. We were a little sad there was no hot tub but we still highly recommended!
We had a group of 18 that stayed for 2 nights. We had a wonderful time! It's such a remote and beautiful property! The kitchen had everything we needed and the place has a western/woodsy feel.
We stayed there to go to Columbus which was a little challenging with the location but the house makes up for any concerns you may have. Great layout for large groups and ample bathrooms and entertainment.
We needed a place that could sleep about three dozen, and had most activities on a single level. This property delivered. Tonya and Ken were responsive and accommodating to our needs. I deducted one star only because it was advertised as having a hot tub, but the hot tub was removed over the winter, and we didn’t realize that until we arrived. We really liked this place, and would r interested in renting again next year.
The house was very spacious and had a large "game room" that we were all able to hang out together in. When the weather allowed we used the basketball courts as well. Large kitchen/dining area that seated plenty and had everything we needed to cook for a large crowd.
The lodge worked out well for our family gathering; already booked it for next year. The space was large enough for us to spread around, with the large game room plus the dining room area, especially since we didn’t have the best weather (very hot with some rain). The kitchen was also large enough to handle several cooks working at the same time. Tonya answered all of my questions & concerns promptly. One issue was the lack of a bathroom on one wing. Anybody sleeping on that end of the lodge had a bit of a walk to get to a bathroom.
Owners replaced hot water heater that wasn't working so that showers possible second day. Everything was clean and comfortable. We appreciated the 1:00 check-in that was great for our out-of-state family.
We booked with a 20 person party of family members of all ages. Everything was just as described but above and beyond. I love cooking big meals and they literally had everything I needed and then some in the kitchen. The cleanliness was immaculate, the game room was fully functional and better than expected, the amount of in house entertainment never ran out. The parking easily accommodated us and we could have had several more vehicles with no issue. We also found many fun things to do within 20-40 minutes of the property. It gave us privacy, but having the caretakers (dogs) visit added so much. The walls and doors do a great job as sound barriers as people were able to sleep, even as we were in the other room playing pool and table tennis.
This location was perfect. Fully equipped kitchen for our group of 24 people, we were able to cook all the food for all three days were were there. There was plenty of room in the refrigerators and we brought food for 24 people over three days. We also had plenty of room to all eat together with comfortable chairs and tables. There were lots of fun games to play. The owners were so hospitable and answered questions very quickly. One of our group even lost a single hearing aid and they found it and mailed it to us after we had left.We would come back if the opportunity presented itself and we have been telling our friends to look into staying there if they want to have a family reunion too.
My extended family came to the Lodge for a trip to celebrate our parents’ 50th anniversary. The location was remote, but quiet and beautiful! We enjoyed the many entertainment options available on the property, as well as the clean and well prepared interior.
The hosts were always very helpful and prompt with communication as we prepared for our trip.
We were disappointed to not be able to cool off in the pond, as it had far too much algae to enjoy. However, the kids still had fun exploring around the perimeter and spotting frogs and tadpoles.
The rooms were very comfortable and well outfitted with bedding. The kitchen was very well equipped for our big crew and the game room provided lots of fun for all when we had bouts of rain. Overall, Little Rock Lodge was a perfect fit for our unique, big family gathering!
We needed to be within 30 mi of Mt. Vernon. This was less and was a nice drive. We had a very large group with two basketball teams, coaches and parents. It was PERFECT! We were very surprised how clean it was. We were able to cook all of our meals and serve to a large group without any problems. There were many supplies in the kitchen. You should bring your own ziplocks, foil, plastic wrap, and we used all paper products to reduce the cleaning. The hot tub was ready with brand new water for us. The kids had a blast in the gameroom. This was worth the drive to not stay in a hotel and was the same price or cheaper with so much more to do as a group. The host was amazing and very helpful. Overall a A+ stay!
We had a large group of extended family meeting to gather for the first time in many years. We had all ages from infant to 70 plus years old. The property provided ample room for everyone to gather, but also have their own space to get away. The hosts were responsive and accommodating. We would recommend the property, but there were a few things we wish we would have been prepared for. First, the pond was listed as a swimming activity, but no swimming was available. Im sure the weather had a lot to do with the water condition, but the children had planned to spend most of the trip swimming and were unable to do so. The pond did not look like the photos in size or water color/condition. Also, you must be an animal lover to stay here. There caretakers farm dog and cat spent the entire vacation with us from sun up till bedtime. We enjoyed having them around, but those afraid or allergic to dogs or cats may not enjoy it as much as we did. The cat, Lenny, was especially aggressive - stealing food from the toddlers whenever he got the chance. Lastly, there are natural gas wells on the property and at times, the fumes were fairly strong outside near the pond and out back by the volleyball court.
