Sleeps up to six.

Very Good Experience

This condo is in a lovely location in the Mission Hills Development with a great view of the Dinah Shore Tournament golf course. It is just off the 6th green. The development itself is well kept with very good security and maintenance. This is a terrific location for someone interested in attending the LPGA Golf Tournament. The condo itself is large with 2 good size bedrooms, kitchen, dining area, and large living room with a vaulted ceiling that lets in lots of light from the many windows. The condo had all the basic necessities to meet our needs. Living room furniture was comfortable. Appliances worked well with a new fridge a recent addition. The only exception was the custom stove which had 3 out of the 4 elements working. This was not an issue as we had been advised by the owner prior to our renting. Internet/Cable works well. TVs and other electronics are very good. Both bedrooms are large and have good comfortable beds. Bedding provided was very good. The bathrooms are functional. The shower and bathtub faucets are worn and show their age. The dining room table chairs are low and uncomfortable. The owner indicated that the chairs will be replaced for next year. The unit has a new propane barbecue that although basic in function, worked very well. We had no issues with propane as the tank was full when we arrived. Fortunately for us the pool closest to the condo was heated during our stay. The pool is maintained twice a week. During our stay the pool area was very quiet and not busy. Our dealings with the owner were positive. Responses from the owner were very timely, always within one day and very often much sooner. Shortcomings of the unit were communicated and identified prior to our renting. As part of our agreement the owner committed to making a number of improvements and changes. These were identified as conditions in the lease and were completed prior to our arrival. During our stay we required a replacement steam iron which was quickly approved for replacement on the same day. We found the owner to be attentive and reasonable in the one or two situations that required attention. Over the course of our rental the owner met with us at the condo on a couple of occasions to ensure that our needs were being met and to ensure that we were being good tenants. This was not an issue. Our plan is to rent this unit again next year.

Our names were not left at the gate, no one to let us in or show us around. Once we did get in we found the rental to be dated and dirty. I know everyone has different standards but we thought it was noticably dirty, walls,carpets,floors etc.The tub did not drain, the finish was worn off bathroom sink and taps dripped all the time, the exterminator was called twice, the BBQ tank was not filled, the dining room chairs still too low for the table, Patio sprinkler system flooded the deck etc. We took out garbage and cleaned. When we finally met with the owner he did not give us the opportunity to discuss the issues but went on a loud abusive rant, threatened to sue me, called us liars and said I was trying to rip him off although he was already paid in full. We found his behaviour very disturbing and did not feel safe or comfortable for the remainder of our ruined holiday. We have traveled extensively and never been subject to this kind of verbal abuse.

Owner's Response: This is the same tenant that already complained and I already responded to. This comment is false. The unit was clean except for one pale in the kitchen which was missed the morning before the tenants arrived. The unit was otherwise immaculate. The unit is updated and is professionally managed by Elbas Final Touch. This is the only negative review we have had to deal with in all these years. I am happy to show photographs.

Winter Getaway

Prior to renting this condo we were thoroughly vetted by the owners. They requested personal references as well as a rental reference in California. A damage deposit and a non refundable cleaning deposit and all monies were to be paid prior to our arrival. We were impressed at how thorough the owners were in respect to prospective tenants. We assumed this attention to detail would be mirrored in the condo. Unfortunately, there were a number of issues that were not dealt with prior to our arrival or prior to our departure. The setting was lovely, good security and central to most amenities. We had the following issues:

Condo was lacking in cleanliness and pest control was not current when we arrived.

Plumbing concerns, dripping taps and a plugged drain in the master ensuite.

Lack of maintenance very apparent throughout the condo.

Fireplace needed servicing.

Bed linens were unacceptable.

Kitchen area needed attention and upgrades (fridge didn't close properly, chairs way too low for dining table, stove missing parts, toaster didn't work nor did the coffee pot.)

Sprinklers near deck needed to be repaired.

No propane delivered as promised.

At the end of the day "in our opinion" we were oversold and the condo did not meet our expectations. We made an effort to communicate our concerns to the owner. The meeting did not go well. Our damage deposit was returned in full but not within the 21 days agreed to. Enough said.

Owner's Response: Dear Reviews Team at VRBO: I am the owner and wish to respond to review 11258486. The tenants in question stayed for 30 days. The unit was absolutely immaculate when I left, and I personally checked it myself. We have rented the unit for many years and have never had any difficult tenants such as we had here. I wish to note that our unit is professionally managed. Never at any time did I receive any negative feedback whatsoever until right before the tenants left. At that time, the tenants appeared to want money back from me which I declined. I wish to note that the unit is extremely well maintained, that the bed linens are excellent and that the appliances all work. I note that the current tenants have had an issue with a burner, which we now have a call in to the warranty company, but again, the tenants never made us aware of any problems. I also wish to note that a service person went over a number of times as soon as he was called to deal with any requests that the tenants had. For example, the tenant is indicating that no propane was delivered as promised. That is not true. The propane tank was just not delivered as quickly as these tenants wanted. In no way was this condominium over sold for $3,200 for the month in January 2015. Up to now, we have had nothing but compliments about our service and commitment to making sure that all tenants enjoy the condominium as much as we do.

A month in the sun

This town home is as it looks in the photos, better even, in the daylight as the photos look a bit gloomy. We were quite comfortable, beds were good, lots of space, just a few steps to the pool. That said there were a few deficiencies. The pool was unheated during our stay and even though it is cleaned twice a week, quickly fills with leaves from nearby trees and other deposits from a couple of amorous ducks. Mission Hills pools are heated 50 percent of the season so odd numbered pools are heated in the spring and even ones in the fall to January. (All pools heated over Christmas.) So you can find a warmer pool with a walk. Just not as convenient.

The changing area in the master bath was very nice with two separate sink areas and great natural light from skylights. The bath/shower is in need of a reno however and the finish is gone on the other bathroom's sink.

There is a wine cooler in the dining area which was nice but the wicker chairs around the dining table are a bit low for eating comfortably. The fridge was cleaned out when we got there which I guess is safe policy but you have to start over there. The pantry had olive oil and spices so that was a bonus.

I suppose the biggest difference was, compared to other VRBO rentals we have done is that there wasn't a lot of communication between the owner and us. Not much helpful info or even the fact that the gatehouse which knew we were coming would be shut down at 10:00 pm. Our flight was much delayed ane we made it with 8 minutes to spare. Also was disappointed to find out that the tennis courts etc were for members only. Something we didn't find out until long after the deposit was paid. My fault for not asking. Most of my questions were answered eventually but got more satisfaction from the housekeeper who was very nice.

In summary it was an enjoyable stay and I would do it again. Maybe some of this information will help the next renters. Thought it was reasonably priced for what you got. Miss the morning walks where we'd collect fallen grapefruit and oranges for our breakfast.
