About the property

Cabin, 1 Bedroom + Convertible bed(s), Full Bath, (Sleeps up to 4)

Nestled on two acres along the banks of the Rogue River, the Rogue River Lodge is one of the earliest known lodges built in the Upper Rogue Valley that is still in existence today. Completed in 1937 as part of the original lodge, the cabin has been lovingly restored to reflect the ambiance of the mid 1930's era. Step back into a simpler time with our one bedroom cabin with amenities that include an antique kitchenette, bathroom, sitting room and French doors that open onto a spacious deck, just feet away from the Rogue River.

Enjoy a peaceful afternoon on the deck watching for bald eagles flying and salmon jumping or just drift off to sleep listening to the light rapids of the Rogue.

This cozy home-away-from -home sleeps up to four persons, with a queen bed in the bedroom, and a double fold out futon bed in the living area. Enjoy a delicious breakfast delivered each morning (valid up to 4 guests).

The manicured grounds also provide an excellent venue for family reunions, weddings, anniversary celebrations and more with potential onsite tent camping, RV and boat parking.

Rogue River Lodge offers an amazing range of things to do in the nearby area. Whether it’s a round of golf, fishing, hiking or wine tasting in the summer or skiing, snowmobiling or snowshoeing in the winter there are plenty of opportunities to explore the sights and tastes of the region, year round.

The Rogue River Lodge has received 2012 Certificate of Excellence Award as well as Jackson County / Medford Chamber of Commerce 2012 Small Business Excellence award along with other awards and recognitions since.

**The cabin is not ADA and does have one small step. It is adjacent to a riverside event venue and event center which is popular during the summer and on a public river access for boaters.

Keywords: The cabin is ideal for tourists & locals - located just 30 minutes from Medford, and 50 miles to Crater Lake, minutes from Lost Creek Lake, and a short drive to Prospect and Union Creek.

About Lee & Anne Kimball

For over eighteen years, Lee and Anne Kimball had enjoyed coming to Medford to visit family. In the spring of 2009, they learned that the lodge was for sale and decided to purchase this historic property. They could envision the potential opportunity that existed in restoring such a unique venue.

Both veterans of the restaurant and hospitality industries, the couple utilized their collective talents to create a new vision and era for the Lodge. Lee's background of construction and facilities for numerous national restaurant chains, as well as his reputation and vision, can be seen throughout the property.

It is evident with the many positive reviews on Yelp!, Trip Advisor, VRBO, etc. that their efforts are recognized by locals and tourists alike.

What makes this cabin unique

A guest was enjoying a private dinner on the cabin deck, dining on a fresh steelhead special we had that evening. A mature bald eagle flew down in front of them, grabbed a salmon from the river and proceeded to eat his salmon, while the guests enjoyed their dinner. Where else could you experience such a unique opportunity?

Prop open the bedroom doors, and go to bed listing to the gentle noise of the river, breathing in fresh air and seeing a beautiful array or stars overhead.

Cute cottage, pretty setting.

  • 3 of 5

We enjoyed our 3 day stay recently. Quite a cute place. Small, I don't see how 4 adults could sleep there. My only complaint was that it was dirty. Grit in the silverware drawers, piles of dust under furniture (had dropped an earring under the bed), grit and dirt around the edge of kitchen floor etc. I would go back but would hope that they would do a more thorough cleaning. Great breakfast-Very nice Innkeepers.

A Wonderful Cabin for Couples!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I recently took a 12-day road trip through the Pacific Northwest. During that time, we stayed in many different types of hotels and rental properties. However, this cabin was our favorite. The cabin is small but it is filled with everything a couple would need for a comfortable stay. It includes a fully functional kitchen, a living room with a fireplace, a huge bedroom, a large patio with a view of the river, and WiFi. Towns both small (Shady Cove, OR) and large (Medford, OR) are only 5-25 minutes away by car. Finally, the owner is extremely cordial and accommodating and the breakfast that he served to us was excellent. We are definitely planning on staying at this property again.

Perfect Weekend Get Away

  • 5 of 5

This quaint cabin was the perfect get away for the weekend. We hiked around Crater Lake all day and ended our trip at the cabin that evening. There was plenty of room for the 4 of us and our dog. The deck which overlooks the Rogue River was my favorite part, with the cozy fireplace being a close 2nd. The Kimballs were extremely friendly and delivered amazing breakfast for us Sunday morning. We are definitely planning on staying here again.

Cute, beautiful, and old-fashioned cabin

  • 4 of 5

We stayed there for four days and three nights during Thanksgiving. The cabin was very cozy and owners super friendly. We picked it because its dog friendly and we were having our chihuahua with us. They even prepared a little breakfast dish with various kinds of treats for our dog. The river behind the cabin was also handy for my boyfriend who's a big fishing fan. He could fish just sitting on the balcony. The heating mattress is completely amazing, especially in the end of November. The only thing I didn't like was the bed. It squeaks every time when you sit on it, get up, or turn. But all other things are perfect.

Notes:
The cabin is restored to a mid 1930's era and contains an antique stove with gas burners and an old fashioned icebox which has been retrofitted to be a refrigerator. The kitchen is functional - but simple. The living room has a cozy stone fireplace, along with a small breakfast bar. Two sets of french doors open onto a spacious deck with serene views of the Rogue River - one set of doors in the bedroom and another in the living room area. Located several hundred feet from the cabin is the Rogue River Lodge.
