The BEST Views on Lake Sinclair - Welcome to The Escape Hatch!

Get away from the hustle-and-bustle at The Escape Hatch on Lake Sinclair! Our home sleeps 11 and has unmatched views of Lake Sinclair. The sunsets are particularly amazing!

Relatively removed from the noise & congestion of any towns, The Escape Hatch offers a fun basecamp to relax and reconnect. Our three-floor home features a living area, kitchen, 1/2 bath, and Master Suite on the main floor; 2 bedrooms, a full bath, laundry room, kitchenette and family /game room on the bottom floor; and a loft bedroom with it's own bathroom and great views of the lake. We have a stunning wood-burning fireplace in the living room; a propane fire table on the porch; a second propane fire table on the dock; and an outdoor firepit on the water. The porch is fully screened offering views of the lake - no better place to listen to the wildlife while rocking in a swing r or lounging on the outdoor sofa. There are also two spacious open-air decks, the upper of which features an outdoor dining space. Like to cook? Use the gas grill on the deck or we have a small charcoal grill available as well. Relax in the porch swing as you watch the sun set, or have a glass of wine on the dock. Other amenities include high-speed internet, cornhole, darts, three tvs with Roku/Firesticks, and lots of books, games, and puzzles.

There's also the amazing HOT TUB added in 2024. The hot tub seats 7, has 48 jets, led lighting, and amazing views of the lake and the firepit.

New additions include:
* New refrigerator and new high-capacity washer & dryer (added in fall 2025)
* New front stairs; back stairs, and deck featuring cable tie railing for unobstructed lake views (completed in March 2026)
* New decking at boat house allowing for the canoe and kayaks to be close to the water (no hauling them down from the house!)
* New 5-foot wide stairs into the water that go all the way to the sandy lake bottom - easy to enter and exit the water! (completed Nov. 2025)
* Full-sized stand-up arcade game featuring more than 400 classic arcade games, including favorites like Galaga, Pac Man, Frogger, and Dig Dug.
* Newly expanded paver firepit area near the water - allows for more seating (completed March 2026)

And don't forget about the real star of the show - beautiful Lake Sinclair, named the cleanest body of water in Georgia! Enjoy access to a canoe, 2 kayaks, and floats galore. Our boat is not currently available to rent, but you can bring your own OR rent from several nearby places. The fishing at Lake Sinclair is also epic - we have several fishing rods to help you grab your catch of the day.

Located 30 mins from downtown Milledgeville by car (5-10 mins by boat); an hour and 30 minutes from Athens, and 2 hours from the Atlanta airport, The Escape Hatch is close enough to enjoy and far enough away to REALLY enjoy!

Our house isn't fancy, but it's fun...the best place to make memories with your own friends and family members!

Please note: our home is not ADA-accessible and is not suitable for small children, especially children who do not know how to swim. Pets are not allowed. There is also no land-line telephone at the property - cell service only. QUIET HOURS are in effect from 11:00 pm to 7:00 am as a courtesy to our neighbors.
