Great weekend get away, quiet and great hosts!

  • 5 of 5

Quiet, at home and close to everything you may need. Right on the river. We stayed in and cooked at our leisure. Had a great break away from work. Anne and Mike are awesome!

Excellent!

  • 5 of 5

My girlfriends/classmates enjoyed a wonderful, relaxing weekend catching up at Bayou Rose. Anne & Mike are awesome hosts! We enjoyed boudin for breakfast and nice visits with them. We also went on the Cajun Food Tour which is highly recommended! It gives you a taste of our cajun culture. We definitely plan to visit Bayou Rose again!!

Incredible home away from home

  • 5 of 5

We live just about 80 miles from Abbeville but we wanted a nice getaway without the traveling and we found the Bayou Rose and we couldn't have been more satisfied. Anne and Mike were excellent host making us feel at home and like we have known them forever, in the morning here comes Anne with her basket of goodies of boudin ,sweet dough tarts and even two little chocolate rabbits since it was Easter . Anne and Mike thank you for your hospitality and we couldn't be more happy that we celebrated Easter mass in your beautiful church .love to you both Theresa and Regina

Delightful

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed at a number of B&B's, but this is the first with boudin for a light breakfast - and very good boudin! The cottage was very comfortable and well equipped. A full size kitchen and living room area, large bathroom with washer and dryer, bedroom with large closet and very comfortable bed. An attached covered porch and a private large deck/dock on the Vermillion River gave a pleasant place to relax. Anne and Mike added the perfect personal touch, making us feel very welcome. They are also very knowledgeable about the area attractions. Our only regret is that three nights was too short a stay.

Owner's Response: Thank you very much for your kind remarks. One of our prior guests had suggested we change our name to Bayou Rose Bed & Boudin! No better way to start a Cajun day than with Richard's boudin! Loved meeting y'all and hoping next times visit can be longer. Laissez les bon temps rouler!

A perfect getaway!

  • 5 of 5

Overlooking the Vermillion River with tugboats and barges passing, the Bayou Rose is a delightful cottage to enjoy whether rocking on the deck or touring the Cajun area. Well equipped with kitchen items or history/travel books, visitors can be very comfortable learning more about Abbeville, nearby towns and the people who have lived here for generations. Anne and Mike, the hosts are knowledgeable about places to see or restaurants to enjoy. Whether you wish to play golf, tour historic houses or gardens, they will graciously assist you. Driving the Cajun/Creole Trail with occasional stops for walks was an afternoon we would have otherwise missed without their suggestion. As we wend our way back to snowy Maine, we will savor their friendship, enthusiasm and breakfast treats.

An amazing B&B in Abbeville LA on the banks of the Vermilion River

  • 5 of 5

I hope I can in words do justice to Bayou Rose Cottage B&B to convey just what a very special place this is to visit. I've now stayed there twice. Once with my adult son and recently with my husband. It's such a special B&B. The separate fully equipped one bedroom cottage is perfect for adults wanting a 'home away from home'. A full size kitchen and living room area with sleeper-convertible couch, large bathroom with washer and dryer, bedroom with large closet and very comfortable bed. An attached covered porch and a nearby private large deck/dock on the Vermillion River provide some very special places for morning coffee and evening beverage of choice. Truly one of the most fully equipped B&Bs that I have ever found. A newly completed excellent near-by restaurant offers delicious and convenient dining with great atmosphere. A perfect morning light breakfast treat (including boudin) and a fully equipped kitchen with snacks and condiments is all part of what creates a very special 5 star experience with Anne and Mike, who are also very knowledgeable about the many nearby wonderful area attractions. I look forward to one day returning to Bayou Cottage Rose again....and again. :)
