Disclaimer: Rural Cabin Stay – Please Read 🌲 By proceeding with this reservation, you acknowledge and understand that you are renting a cabin located in the rural woods of Northern Maine. While we strive to provide a clean, comfortable, and well-maintained environment, there are natural elements that come with the setting: 🐭 Mice Activity: Mice may be present year-round due to the surrounding wilderness, with increased activity during the cooler months (fall and winter) as they seek warmth indoors. We use natural and sterile methods to treat the cabin, but occasional sightings or signs of mice may still occur. ❄️ Ice & Snow: Icy conditions are common in colder months. We do our best to salt and shovel walkways, but some ice may remain. Please use caution when walking outside during these times. 🕸️ Spiders & Webs: In this remote wooded setting, spiders are prevalent. We clear webs before each guest’s arrival, especially around the exterior, but they often rebuild quickly due to the natural environment. By confirming your stay, you accept and understand these conditions as part of the authentic and rustic Northern Maine experience. 🌲🏡

We loved the cabin. It had everything we could have hoped for- plenty of space, a grill, a firepit. It is the first place we have stayed where we said the picures for the the property did not do it adequate justice. We were pleased to find the property was even bigger and more beautiful than what was shown.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Overlook! Home looks recently renovated (lots of nice windows) & views are wonderful from every room of house! Two full baths (including one upstairs) so all we needed. Very clean & nicely decorated. Conveniently located to everything. Lily Bay State Park nearby & no one there this time of year so great for walking/hiking! Hope to return in Summer months to enjoy that view as million dollar for sure!
It was hot the day we arrived and the air-conditioning was turned on and the house was spotless. The house is very roomy and accommodates 10 people, but the only downside is that there is only one bathroom and it is downstairs. There is a deck that wraps around the house with a gas grill, patio set, and glider swing. There is also a fire pit and the view of the lake is amazing.
This cabin is private, very accessible from the road and a lovely view from the deck. We had one issue: we are in our seventies and would not have rented if we knew the one bathroom was down stairs. Also the stairs have a low beam which is challenging for tall people.
