The condo was not clean, and the overall condition was completely unacceptable—especially considering the cost. The towels had stains, the sheets smelled, the shower was grungy, and several dishes and coffee cups were dirty and stuck to the cabinet liner. There were also roaches in the unit. Whether they are referred to as “palmetto bugs” or roaches does not change the fact that it was disgusting and unacceptable for a rental property. The dresser drawers were also extremely difficult to open. We actually took a video struggling with them because we nearly hurt our fingers trying to access our own clothes. Unfortunately, we are unable to upload the video, but we do have pictures of the other issues and would be happy to provide them. This property was not at all up to the standard we are accustomed to at The Palms. We were extremely disappointed, and what made it worse was the response from the rental company. It felt as though Seagrove On the Beach Rental was perfectly fine taking our money, then simply saying, “thanks for letting us know,” without any real concern or accountability. What is most upsetting is that our lives have been incredibly stressful and chaotic, and this trip was supposed to be a brief chance to rest before things get hectic again. Instead, we spent our time frustrated, uncomfortable, and angry over the clear lack of cleanliness, maintenance, and consideration. This was not a minor inconvenience. This was a poorly maintained and poorly cleaned unit,
