Escape to our waterfront canal home in beautiful Colington Harbor, where you can enjoy the best of the Outer Banks without fighting the beach crowds or heavy traffic. Located just 3 miles from the oceanfront, our home offers a relaxing coastal setting with easy access to shops, restaurants, and local attractions.

This home is designed for gathering, relaxing, and enjoying the water. Recent updates include an updated kitchen and a new fire pit added for 2026, perfect for evenings by the canal. The home also features a screened Florida-style lanai, giving your group a comfortable outdoor space to relax without the bugs sending you inside.

Guests love the waterfront lifestyle here. You can swim or float in the warm canal water, launch a kayak or paddle board with ease, and explore the nearby canals and sound. We provide easy water access steps, a floating dock, and space for your water fun right from the property. Bring your boat or WaveRunners too — we have a dock, lift, and Jet Ports, depending on the size of your watercraft.

The main level features a large deck overlooking what we proudly call Garber Harbor — the perfect spot for morning coffee, sunset drinks, or simply relaxing by the water.

The lower level is all about fun and convenience, with a hot tub room, TV, refrigerator, and our Jimmy Buffett-themed sports bar complete with 3 TVs and a sound system. There is also a full-size refrigerator downstairs, making it easy to store drinks, groceries, and supplies for a full week’s stay.

Inside and out, the home is loaded with amenities to help make your vacation easy and comfortable, including:

This place is awesome. Has absolutely everything you could want including a really well equipped pier with jet ski launch and boat lift. Colington is a lovely neighborhood for relaxing away from the crowds but still centrally located close to the beach and shopping. The owners were lovely to communicate with and very helpful. We will definitely be returning.

Canal heaven!

After years of staying ocean front we decided to try something different and SO glad we did! This house was perfect for our family. We enjoyed the beautiful decks to watch our family fish, swim and kayak. We really enjoyed the relaxing and serene landscape! We would definitely stay again in the future.

This House was Amazing!!! We had the best time My children ages 10-25 and we have 5 enjoyed this property so much from kayaking, swiming, fishing, playing in the yard all the things a great neighbourhood. The Kitchen was fully stocked with everything you may need from crockpot to huge seafood pot down stairs this house truly has all you need to relax and reset also its close to town and to the beach so travel and traffic isnt a nightmare.Our host was very friendly and helpful I am coming back for sure and would definitely recomend to any family or group.

Great stay at Colington Harbor

Our family stayed for a week at Garber Harbor. We loved the canal/soundside location - it was a peaceful oasis away from the bustle of Kill Devil Hills. There was always a breeze and plenty of shady spots to sit outside. The downstairs tiki bar was great for evening socializing. We brought our paddleboards and enjoyed poking around the canals and the harbor. Scott met us at the house upon check in to show us around, and was responsive via text the whole week. We'd be happy to come here again!

Great vibes and fun for all

We stayed at Garber's Harbor and it was amazing. The property is beautiful and well kept and the amenities were great. Both the bar area and hot tub area downstairs have such a fun vibe. We went kayaking most evenings with the kayaks they provided AND it was so easy getting in and out with their floating launch. They have a great dock at the house and were very amenable to us bringing our boat down.The home itself is well stocked with cooking items and the grill worked like a dream too. The beds were comfortable and the house has an amazing media system set up.Best of all, our hosts were welcoming and helpful - both before hand and during our stay when we had a minor trailer issue. We would 100% recommend staying there!

My wife and I are 3 season now as a Host with VRBO. We have a wonderful home on the water we call Garber's Harbor. We want to share our home with families that want to enjoy and learn what the OBX area can provide for a fun vacation. We have owned this property for over 20 years and we know you will enjoy the neighborhood and the amenities offered in our harbor. We have our own beach and community pool. Tennis, Pickleball and Basketball courts. If you have a boat or wave runner we have a boat ramp available and we have a lot of dock space. Easy access to our canal to swim or float. And we have Kayaks for your use to paddle around the 7 canals that make up Colington Harbor. My wife Debby also does the cleaning in our house and we live about 2 miles away when you are using our home if you have any issue or needs for supply. It is our goal to make sure you have a fun experience staying at our place at Garber Harbor

Why they chose this property

Waterfront home that has 3 living levels. Lower level is our entertainment level with our screen in bar grill area. TV sports bar setup or music system to set the mood in our Jimmy Buffet Key West theme bar. It is also were we have our Hot Tub with it's own TV and sound system. Our main living level has our dinning rooms and kitchen centered between 2 living rooms. Plenty of room for relaxing and sitting around for conversation or puzzles or cards and the other living room area has our TV Audio System. This level also has a large deck for outside drinks and conversation and to watch all the boaters floating by. Looking over the canal and watching the water can add to the trip in saying we can just relax and enjoy what the day offers right here on our deck.

What makes this property unique

There are many homes you can choose from, but we offer water front canal home. Bring your boat or wave runners kayak or paddle boards or use ours. Go to our pool or play pickleball or tennis. And plenty of rooms to just be to yourself if you need the ME time. Everything including the beach is within 3 mile ride. Plus we have local restaurant on Colington Road and you don't have to go out and manage the traffic. We offer Friday to Friday check-in and Check-out which gives you time to beat the weekend traffic and still able to get home and have some weekend to unwind from your fun at OBX We think you will enjoy our home and thanks for your consideration, as we know you have many choices here in OBX
