About Melodie Vitale

I had been fishing here for about 7-8 years and finally decided to buy a cabin. Beautiful area. Lots of outdoor things to do.

Melodie Vitale purchased this cabin in 2011

Why Melodie Vitale chose Idaho

It is a very nice rustic log cabin which attracted me from the beginning. It is well located for fishing the rivers and streams around this area and is also ideally located for adventures in Yellowstone Park.

What makes this cabin unique

Superb location for fly fishing, hiking and all outdoor activities. Beautiful lake view from deck to enjoy while at home. Short drive (15 minutes) to West Yellowstone and Yellowstone National Park.

Absolutely Amamzing!!

  • 5 of 5

This is the best cabin I have ever stayed at. It was so well equipped. We would spend the whole day in Yellowstone National Park then come back and relax with an amazing view of the lake and when the sun went down a cozy fireplace was there to enjoy. The owners left great notes and lots of information to look at while we enjoyed their beautiful home. It was so very quiet and peaceful. We left really early every day to get into Yellowstone Park. We had no traffic and it would take us 20 minutes to get to the entrance of the park.

Wonderful Visit

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I stayed at the cabin the last week in September. The listing description was quite accurate. We appreciated the detailed and very thorough cabin instructions which made our stay trouble free. Communication with the owners was timely, very gracious and helpful. I especially appreciated the location across from Henry's Lake as my goal was to be able on the water early. The fishing did not disappoint. I don't think there are any small fish in the lake. Great fun! We met a number of local folks during our stay and all were very friendly and willing to chat. Side trips for us included Yellowstone, Big Springs and Quake Lake. We enjoyed our stay and hope to return in the future. Definitely recommend this property.

Accomodating House with a beautiful view

  • 4 of 5

I have rented many houses and have a timeshare too - but Melodie and Gary's provisions and accommodations far surpass so many of my previous rentals. It was so great to be able to use their coolers while we were there. They provide far more than we expected with ample kitchen supplies including plastic bags, coffee, creamer, sugar, fridge condiments etc. It really helped our stay and saved money on food shopping. We did buy a new container of coffee and oatmeal to replace what we used and make it available for the next guest. Having 2 bathrooms was great for 4 guests too. Plenty of bath towels, tissues, paper towels, toilet paper (may not want to buy anymore of that for awhile - lots and lots of rolls around the house). Loved the wall heater in the upstairs bathroom for those chilly mornings. It was nice an close to the west Yellowstone entrance to the park, which is absolutely amazing - everyone needs to visit Yellowstone once in their lifetime. Lots of pamphlets, brochures and magazines on Yellostone and surrounding area. Also appreciated the use of your binoculars and we did setup the hummingbird feeder to watch those graceful creatures.

Thank you so much Vitale's!!!

A Very Pleasant Vacation Home

  • 4 of 5

We found the property to be just what the description read. There were good accommodations for 4 adults and 3 kids, one of whom is a special-needs person and uses a small wheelchair. The owner was very helpful when I queried them about accessibility. There are steps onto the porch but thereafter, everything one needs is on the first floor. Sara could walk up and down the steps with help so we got along fine. We were impressed by how well the kitchen is stocked, both for dishes and utensils and some staples. We really appreciated that, we were just asked to replace anything that we used up. There were laundry facilities on the first floor.

We were about 20 minutes from Yellowstone National Park, but we had not realized that it would take almost another hour to drive to the major sites. We adapted once we realized the distances and traffic involved. There are several other interesting sights and activities nearby but our purpose was to see Yellowstone and that we did.

My major frustration is with the VBRO site itself. There was a discrepancy between the cost for a week at the property as described online, the owner and I agreed on the price as advertised. However, when the final payment was due, it was not itemized until after I had submitted payment. Then I realized I was charged the increased rate. There was no way to query or contact the VBRO site when I made the payment. I will be cool toward renting another VBRO as a result.
