This is the most perfect glamping experience. The yurt is perfectly clean, the grounds are well maintained and have everything you need. Would highly recommend and will definitely come back!
We loved the yurt! The beds were comfortable and the firepit was perfect. The yurt was clean and so was the outhouse. The location is great for spending the day hiking at Waterloo. We would stay again and recommend to family and friends!
This Yurt was the perfect little getaway! My boyfriend and I booked for the weekend and it couldn’t have been better! Had the perfect minimal camping feel with the luxury of also being indoors and sleeping comfortably! 10/10 will be back!

Thank you so much for coming! We are glad you had a nice time and you are welcome back any time!
Extremely cool yurt, great owner, amazing location
My husband and I stayed here for a weekend getaway and had an excellent experience. The yurt was extremely clean and cozy, had every amenity we needed for a rustic trip, and is in such a beautiful and private location. It's near a ton of scenic hiking trails, lakes, etc., which is very convenient if you're planning outdoor activities. The propane heater was perfect when the temperature dropped over night. The host is so helpful and accommodating, which made everything very easy. The yurt is a 10/10, we would love to stay here again!!
No one will find you here. Great cell service but nestled in the woods. Perfect camping with a roof. Owners were respnisive and great to work with. I highly recommend camping here.

Thanks for the kind words! We are thrilled you had a good time, and you were great guests! Come back any time!!
Wow is all I can say about our trip to the yurt! We had such a wonderful time and mase so many amazing memories with our kids! The yurt is exactly as described. It had a futon and 2 bunk beds, perfect for my husband 2 kids and I. The space was clean and all we needed for the long weekend. We love rustic camping ( no running water or electricity) so this was perfect for us. We cooked over the fire for all our meals. There is a cooking grate over the fire which was helpful. There was plenty of seating around the stone fire pit. If you want the sound of nature and isolation this is for you! At night when all the lanterns are off you are in total darkness which we though was cool! There is a string of battery powered lights around the inside of the yurt which we liked at night which is basically like the light of the moon. Tons of things to do in the area. Lots of canoe liveries about 35-55 minutes away. Easy to get to for a day trip! Lastly our hosts were beyond easy to get a hold of and were very helpful through the booking as well as the entire trip! Highly recommended this property! We hope to stay again!
My wife and I live in Ann Arbor but acquired this property because we love the solitude and serenity. Having camped at campgrounds in the past, we dislike being on top of your neighbor. Instead, we go for the peace and quiet. This is our first venture into hosting something so it will be a learning experience. All recommendations for improvement are welcome!!
Why they chose this property
While only being a few miles off the highway, it is complete solitude. You feel like you are in the middle of nowhere, but still close to all the necessities. And you are within a few miles of several lakes, and right next to Portage Lake beach and campground, and hundreds of miles of trails.
What makes this property unique
There is complete privacy at the Yurt of Waterloo! You have a large open area to entertain, cook out, etc. but still tucked in 12 wooded acres. The separate driveway adds to the privacy. We own a small cottage on the property that we are renovating and may/may not list for rental. If we do, you will see an added benefit for larger parties!
