Cozy Upper Boathouse For Rent

We are open for 2026 bookings. Welcome to beautiful Otter Lake, this well cared for and clean family guest cabin on the water could be yours for this coming spring, summer or fall. Two nights is the minimum stay. The rate is $250 per night. Plus HST and VRBO also takes a fee because that is where you found us. If you want to be isolated from the madness of the world especially at these uncertain times this is truly the place. Read our reviews they speak for themselves. We only rent to select couples and singles only, over the age of 30, non-smokers, and sorry no pets allowed.

You can not get any closer to the water than this! Come visit serene Otter Lake and rent the living quarters of this cozy boat-house with open balcony and barbecue. Open concept, nice natural pine interior, one queen size bed and one fold out couch. Clean bright with South West exposure, sun all day long, and beautiful sunsets. New stove, upright shower, parking right at your door step, free boat launch next door and no charge boat mooring included. Great swimming and fishing and a very beautiful and quiet lake.

There is a Paddle boat and two small kayaks with paddles and life jackets included in the rental. Act fast for this ultimate cottage boat-house experience on the water for 2026.

There is high speed wifi satellite TV and air conditioning and a barbecue on the balcony. Please be aware that we only rent to select responsible adults 30 years or older, couples or singles only. You are required to bring bed sheets and pillow cases and bath towels. But there are tea towels and wash cloths and everything else you could possibly need. Weekly rentals will take a priority in booking.
Marina nearby with watercraft, ski and tubing rentals and a convenience store. Only 10 km from the town Parry Sound and all amenities and where you can ride the Island Queen and tour the waters of Georgian Bay or even rent a float plane.

Bedding/Linens:
There are comforters and blankets and everything else you could need. You are required to bring your own bed sheets and towels.

Wifi:
Wifi is high speed and available free.

Drinking Water:
The water comes directly from the lake and is purified by an inbuilt system. But you may wish to bring your own drinking water. You are required to bring your own bed sheets, and bath towels. There are wash cloths and tea towels.
The town of Parry Sound is a twenty minute drive away and has all the modern conveniences and necessities a city can offer.

We enjoyed our time at the Boathouse. Owen was responsive and easy to communicate with. The property was easy to find, the location was quite private, and well equipped. Kayaking was lovely as this end of the lake is not too busy.

The cottage was clean and comfortable with lots of sunlight and an amazing view of the lake and trees from all the windows. Owen was friendly and helpful and checking in and out was super easy. I loved being right on the water, especially with the boathouse below to keep my inflatable paddleboard and fishing stuff in for easy access. The peddle boat was a lot of fun too. The area of the lake that the cottage is on was super friendly, quiet and peaceful with an amazing view of the milky way at night away from all the light pollution I'm used to further south. This was the perfect place to escape reality for awhile and I hope to rent again in the future.

Beautiful cottage with spectacular views

The place is exactly remote as we’ve expected. No overcrowded. The house is pretty, cozy and kind of felt like a house you see in one of those nostalgic days. The views are breathtaking. We paddled across the lake using the boat. And it is so refreshing and relaxing. Would recommend 10/10 to any couples.

Amazing stay on the lake

This was exactly what we were looking for - a beautiful and relaxing stay on the lake. The property owners were extremely responsive and helpful. The kayaks and paddle boats were definitely an asset. The lake is relatively calm and we were able to enjoy great weather during our stay. Home had everything you need including full kitchen. Would highly recommend this property and would love to revisit one day.

Perfect cottage retreat for two

Owen’s place is so clean and home-y, it feels like you are staying at a friends place. The location is very convenient, the boathouse is clean and kayaks are accessible and easy to use. My partner and I thought it was the perfect getaway for two and we had a fantastic time together. We cooked on the bbq, enjoyed the cable TV when it rained and overlooked a scenic unobstructed view of the lake. Super quiet at night, reasonable rate. We definitely want to return! Can't get closer to the water than this!

I had a great stay at the Upper Boathouse. I didn't need anything more since I was there to get some quiet time alone. Paddleboarding in the mornings was my favorite time of the day! Water was so still, quiet and peaceful. Everything you need is provided for you. The bed could use a new mattress in my opinion but I had back surgery a few years ago so may not be an issue for anyone else. Will definitely look to go back again! Thank you Owen and Rob!

Perfect relaxing getaway

This is a great little property that is perfect for 2 adults looking for a relaxing getaway. We were there just after Canada Day and the boat traffic was mininal, neighbours are at a fair distance so you have privacy. The balcony is right over the water so you have a fantastic view. Even during a rainy day you can sit in the boathouse and just watch the rain fall on the water. The kitchen has all the basic utensils you would need along with some oils and simple spices but if you need something specific best to bring that along yourself. Everything was neat, clean and arranged nicely so it feels spacious. Owen was a great host and we definitely hope to visit again!

perfect getaway for 2

Owen’s boathouse is truly a hidden gem and a perfect getaway spot for a couple! I stayed here with my boyfriend this past weekend and had the most peaceful stay. Everything you need is avaible to you — a cozy bed, stunning lake view, cozy cottage furniture including dining table and couch, all cutlery, A/C, kitchen utensils, satiate TV, netfllix, functioning toilet & shower etc. We took the paddle boat and kayaks out all weekend and tanned in the middle of the lake. My favourite part of this whole trip was the enjoying breakfast and coffee out on the balcony with the stunning view. The property is CLEAN and well maintained. A must stay if you’re looking for a cozy & peaceful getaway for two. I cannot recommend Owen’s place enough☺️! I cannot wait to come back!!!!!

I recently booked a parry sound trip, and overall, the experience was great. The boat house was clean, and everything was well-organized.However, there was a significant issue that needs to be addressed. After we left, the owner sent a nasty message complaining about the stove being left with black soot. Old outdated stoves can produce soot (black residue) This can be due to dirty burner ports, old outdated pots and pans, insufficient air supply, or problems with the burner assembly.It was disappointing to receive such a message, especially considering the house and property was in the exact state as we received it. Owen obviously has trust issues with past renters because he didn’t even want to rent to us because we were under 30 but made an exception because we are first responders Despite this issue, the house itself was great, but the unprofessional communication from the owner left a sour taste.
