About the property

Charming Mountain Chalet 3 bd/2 ba, Hot Tub, Tipi and Fire Pit!

WE STILL HAVE JULY 4TH. WEEKEND AVAILABLE!!

This is the perfect getaway for a romantic weekend, family vacation or holiday retreat, nestled against the mountainside and 3.7 acres of wooded forest. Breathe in the fresh mountain air while enjoying the peace and tranquility of the area or indulge in the many activities the Pacific Northwest has to offer. This charming mountain chalet is located just 12 miles outside the Sunrise Entrance to Mount Rainier National Park and 20 minutes to Crystal Mountain Ski Resort. Spend the day enjoying Crystal Mt. with the best view of Mt. Rainier and lunch from the top of Crystal Mountain’s gondola. Hike the many trails around Mount Rainier and enjoy the wild flowers, waterfalls and beautiful views. Return home and relax in the hot tub or in front of the gas fireplace while watching a movie. Enjoy the beautiful outdoors while you roast marshmallows around the large stone fire pit or cook a meal on the outdoor grill. Feel free to explore or camp out in the tipi with 2 queen beds(seasonal). Sit back and watch the local herd of elk wander the community or take a short walk down to the glacial fed White River.

This cabin has the charm of a mountain chalet with all modern amenities. Log furniture and lodge decor warm the cottage and make your stay memorable. The kitchen has just been remodeled and new hardwood floors throughout! There are 2 large bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs, each with skylights and huge windows. One of these bedrooms has an additional double futon for the kids. Downstairs is the main living area with bathroom/laundry room and 1 bedroom. This charming cottage sleeps six adults and two children. Also available, is a very unique tipi with two queen size beds that must be reserved with the rental of either of our cabins for an additional $40 per stay. As most tipis are not totally water-proof, it is possible to get wet if there was rain.

Come explore the beautiful Cascades from this peaceful escape.

We are a pet friendly establishment and we do welcome pets for a non-refundable fee of $35 for each pet, per stay.

Because we do not charge a rental deposit, the VRBO 'Property Damage Protection' rental insurance is additional on the occupancy of five or more adults. That is an additional cost of $49.00 for $1500.00 of damage coverage. It is purchased through VRBO upon checkout and payment of your rental.

Single nights may be available at a slightly higher nightly rate. Please ask manager for details.

The Eagle's Nest is on the same property and is available to rent, http://www.vrbo.com/463359. Both units share the hot tub, tipi and fire pit.

About Tamara

I love the peaceful mountain setting and abundance of outdoor activities that this area has to offer. My family and I have enjoyed skiing, hiking and mountain biking around this area for the past 20 years. Come and explore all that this gorgeous mountain lifestyle has to offer.

Tamara purchased this chalet in 2012

Why Tamara chose Puget Sound North

Watch the elk wander by and you enjoy the large hot tub, sit and warm yourself by the large fire pit on cool evenings or take a short walk to the river and relax. The Elk Crossing Chalet will be the most relaxing and exciting vacation that you'll be talking about for years! We hope to see you soon!

What makes this chalet unique

We love to have family gatherings around the fire pit, playing in the snow or hiking through the beautiful wildflowers. The Rainier Gondola at Crystal Mountain offers some of the most spectacular views of Mt. Rainier and offers wonderful dining. Take a beautiful, leisurely drive on the hundreds of miles of Forest Service Roads for spectacular views of Mt. Rainier.

Fantastic chalet! Enjoyed each day!!

  • 5 of 5

The description was accurate of this cozy chalet. On a quiet street. Wifi strong, but cell reception only at the end of driveway (short distance)...but that is true for the entire area. Kitchen was adequately appointed and very functional. Beds were super comfortable. Large dining table inside and nice picnic table outside. We loved watching to elk come through at dusk each night to nibble. Thanks Tamara for providing all our needs!

Great location to the mountains, fully equipped kitchen, comfortable beds and gorgeous scenery!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed several nights at Elk's Crossing. We were very comfortable and had plenty of space. The kitchen was very well stocked. We enjoyed all the chalet has to offer, including the fire pit and the the jacuzzi/hot tub. It was very beautiful and serene. We had a great time and would stay again if we are fortunate enough to travel to the beautiful Northwest!

Property was in a beautiful wooded setting, very well kept up, great outdoor space.

  • 4 of 5

Wonderful wooded setting for a family get-away with lots of beautiful outdoor space (including teepi, fire pit, grill, gazebo/hottub, hammock, patio). The house had modern amenities but was loaded with mountain charm everywhere we looked. Would definitely recommend to others.

Gary and Tamara were fantastic hosts!

We took our kids up to the Elk Crossing cabin for the week and enjoyed the cozy cabin and the awesome amenities. We had brownie smores around the fire pit, relaxed in the hot tub, and enjoyed waterfall destination hikes at nearby trails. We will certainly be back!
