We rented this house for a family get together in July. We enjoyed swimming in the pool, fishing in the lake, grilling on the deck and playing in the spacious yard. The gardens were beautiful and well maintained. Sam was super accommodating and responsive!

Great Lake House

A very nice Lake House! Located on a peaceful section of the lake, very nicely landscaped and maintained. The online pictures were spot on, no surprises. Easy Lake access and having the boathouse available was great. Pool was a lot of fun. Overall, a great vacation spot. Can’t wait to go back

Celebrating Papaw’s 70th Birthday

We had a wonderful vacation on the lake. It was ideal for our group in the clean pool time. We had fun fishing and jet skiing during the day, and catching fireflies on the lawn at night. Whenever we had a question or issue, Sam was quick to respond and repair.

Beautiful house!

The house is absolutely beautiful and Sam was so easy to work with. He made sure everything with the house was perfect. The house is also in a great location. Overall excellent experience!

Wonderful vacation at the lake! Have been renting houses on Guntersville Lake for several years and this is the absolute best! The price is excellent, I have paid much more for less impressive rentals. The host is a great guy too! Sam told us about a great fishing spot which produced several large bass. I highly recommend this rental and plan to stay again next June!

Great weekend on the Lake

Took our family and a couple of friends to the lake for the weekend. Also rented a pontoon and jet ski. We had a great time. The house is super nice with room for everyone to spread out. We spent our days on the lake and our evenings lounging by the pool. The area was quiet even with Rock the Dock in town. Would definitely recommend this lake house.

Wonderful getaway

The house was beautiful and clean. Comfortable beds, stocked and full kitchen. Mr.Greenwood was easy to get in touch with after a storm blew through and damaged an umbrella on the property. Would 100% go back

Family weekend

This was a great place to stay…everything as advertised and easy to access. We rented a pontoon from Guntersville Boat Rental and used the boat house to keep it overnight. The kids had a ball, especially in the pool. Highly recommend this place!!

Not worth the money

When you spend over $3000 for a lake house, you would expect the place to be immaculate. On our way we spoke to the property manager. He spoke rather quickly and was giving a lot of information at once but ended with call me if you have any questions or concerns. When we first arrived to the house (30 minutes later), we were confused as to where to drop our boat and called back several times. No answer. We also text concerns and no response. The owner of the house lives next door. We told him the upstairs AC wasn’t working and his response was “Give it time to defrost. It is froze up.” Never saw or heard from him again. The furniture is worn. The kitchen and its pans for cooking are not clean. The bathrooms need serious updates. Flooring had holes. Only 1 roll of toilet paper was supplied per bathroom. The tiles around the pool are not glued down so it is very dangerous. The bottom floor bathroom was infested with centipedes. Also, the lake area where the house is the water is gross and not good for swimming. Lastly, there are slot machines where you play real money but there is no way to redeem your winnings. Scam slot machines.

Greenwood Lake House

The description of this house doesn't do it justice. There are actually 3 floors. The bottom floor includes a rec room and a bedroom. The main floor includes the kitchen, living area and master bedroom. Upstairs includes additional bedrooms. My granddaughters really enjoyed the pool. This area of the lake was relatively quite for a 4th of July week. The laundry room location, off the master bath, was inconvenient. I provided a short list of suggested improvements to the owner after we left and he quickly responded with a plan to improve.

Family Vacation

We loved the pool. House was clean and very comfortable. Beautiful views. Close to our favorite restaurants and shopping. Quiet neighborhood. We brought our waverunners and enjoyed exploring the area.

The place was large and clean

The place was large and clean. It was a little difficult to find and more set back from the water than i had realized but that was my mistake. And it’s notanythi that would keep you out of the water the pool was beautiful! There were a few minor concerns about the property like loose tiles around the pool but I’m sure those are on the to-do list for the property manager. We had a great time!

Property not as advertised

This home did not meet our expectations, it was not as advertised & we feel it is falsely labeled as “luxury”. We would not consider staying here again & here’s why: We saw cockroaches both downstairs and upstairs, broken pavers all over the pool area making it dangerous to walk on, stained/old furniture, the washing machine had a broken soap dispenser and there was previous water damage warping the floor boards in the bathroom. The privacy fence that separated the home and the trailer home next door was broken and this didn’t make for great views to the lake. We saw many lightbulbs were burnt out and there was old rusted furniture sitting around outside along with an old appliance of some kind sitting on the front porch in the corner. The trash can lid was broken and the metal covering of the microwave was bent and coming off. The old pool table had pockets that were broken & “fixed”with zip ties. The provided internet password would also not work for us. We feel that Some of the photos shown on VRBO (at the time we booked) were not an accurate representation of the home. The photos shown of the nice view to the lake is now obstructed by a privacy fence and a trailer home. Aside from the cockroach situation, the pool pavers were the thing we were most dissatisfied with. The owner stated in the reviews on VRBO that the pool pavers were fixed when we booked this property, but they were not fixed. The pavers were VERY loose and verging on dangerous to walk on. Some tiles were falling off the edges of the pool into the water. My son hurt his foot walking on the tiles because they shift when walking. The pool tiles need to be redone so they are safe for guests to walk on. After three nights, we started seeing cockroaches both downstairs and upstairs. We were concerned because we had our bags out we didn’t want to unknowingly bring a roach or it’s eggs home with us. Due to this and compounded by the other issues with the home, we decided that we were leaving early. We notified the owner about why we left two days early (due to what we felt were unsanitary/unsafe conditions). Overall we did not have a good experience and would not recommend this home due to the safety of the broken pool pavers and that the home was not well maintained.

Potential to be Five Star

House: very spacious, comfortable, great a/c, plenty of hot water and towels, HE washer and dryer. Pool: kept beautifully clean. Lake access: not so great for launching our kayaks as very rocky, a ladder off the boat dock would have been nice . Lake area: not suitable for swimming as house located on an inlet of the lake with lots of water weeds. (But we enjoyed seeing the ducks and other wildlife living in the rushes) The owner did alert us to the loose paving slabs around the pool, and that some of the boards around the dock were also in need of repair. So beware of tripping hazards. There were a few things in the house in need of repair/replacement and deep clean which I have told the owner about so he can take care of them before the next guests. We enjoyed the proximity to Guntersville with major grocery stores and a selection of restaurants. Unfortunate that trash only collected on Thursday as cans already full from previous guests. The house certainly met our needs and we had an enjoyable vacation. With a thorough deep clean and improved maintenance the house could be a 5+ star.

In the 90's I was working as a factory outlets leasing agent and Boaz Alabama was fast becoming the top outlet center in the country so after living in Lake Tahoe for 15 years I decided with some persuasion from my son that it was time to relocate. Looking back there was a sign coming down the Mountain that said it best "Lake Guntersville one look and you're hooked" I will always remember the sign coming down the mountain into Guntersville and after spending less than a month in North east Alabama I returned to California for the birth of my daughter it was then that my Son Jesse Lee continued to ask if we could still go fishing in Alabama we loaded up and with a 1 month old baby girl and headed to Lake Guntersville
