What's new? Almost everything!!! We added a 300 square feet master bedroom. the bathrooms were transformed into elegant, luxury bathrooms. New rock and an amazing mantle piece are the focal point of the living room; that is if you can tear yourself away from the fabulous view of Lake Guntersville. We have a beautiful new flagstone walkways. new landscaping, and larger driveway. We replaced the sliding glass doors in each bedroom that lead to the patio. We painted the living area paneling a light gray color, which brightened the space. We have painted the interior and much of the exterior. It was time to replace the boathouse. Now guests have their own slip with lift, chest freezer and fish cleaning station.

About Nicholas or Lyndall Hamlett
My parents, built this home in 1958. My father helped design the house with it's open living and dining area floor plan. I have kept some of the retro look by leaving some of the original fixtures, but it has also been completely updated the kitchen, laundry room, both bathrooms and added a 300 sqare foot master bedroom. I live just 3 miles away, also in Guntersville. My husband and I have lived here since 1990. He is the pastor of the First Presbyterian Church in Albertville. We are still keeping it in the family. My son Nicholas manages the property for me.

What makes this House unique
It is a jewel of lake front property, because it is not steep and keeps deep water year round. It has shady and sunny area of this one acre property that provides privacy. It is in a cove. My favorite part about the house is the windows. In almost every room of the house you can look at the serene lake. The retro look has been blended with modern convenience. For example there are modern granite counter tops and antique dressers.

Nice quiet getaway
Like the name says, it's a great little getaway. The owners were easy to contact, the home is updated and modern, cozy and comfortable.
The little corner of the lake it's on gets very little boat traffic, the boat house is new, the patio is great, we really enjoyed our stay.
We had a wonderful time at Guntersville Getaway. Owner Nick was great, so kind to let us have all of our animals at beautiful Lake Guntersville.
Thank you so much for the spending the time to write a review of the guntersville getaway. It was a joy to get to know you. It is really gratifying when all our hard work is appreciated. Thanks again and we hope to see you back soon.
Back patio looking out over the lake was great
There were 4 adults and 1 teenager. The house was perfect for us! Great, LEVEL lot, with plenty of shade trees. Caught fish off of the dock and had a nice boathouse to keep my boat in. Guntersville Getaway is an easy drive to antique stores, grocery stores, outlet stores and tackle stores. We'll definitely be going back. AC works great!!
We recommend to any guest(s) to NOT use Boat Mart on Hwy 69 for any boat rental purposes. Ask Nicholas for any boat/waverunner rental information.
Our family spent a week at Guntersville Getaway relaxing, seeing beautiful Alabama, and visiting with family. The owners were extremely friendly and booking was easy. The house was located in a easy to get to location with a lovely view of the lake and wild life. It was the perfect jumping off place for fishing and boating, or visiting locations such as shopping in Guntersville, The Cathedral Cave and Guntersville State Park. It was an easy drive to the Space and Rocket Center. The house was very clean and well-maintained. We were pleasantly surprised by the size of the yard, great for playing family games in the evening. I would recommend this house to anyone seeking a relaxing getaway!
Thank you so much! That is our goal, for you to have a wonderful relaxing vacation. It is gratifying for wonderful guests like you notice our hard work ! Take care and come back soon!
Lyndall and Nicholas
Three couples came for a wonderful time away from the stress of the world and sickness and we were blessed with a great home!! Nicholas and Lynn were great host and did everything they could to make our little vacation an experience to remember. They recommended a great restaurant, The Rock and we had already discovered another one, Top of the River. As promised, we caught a lot of fish on the pier and had a fish fry one night. The pictures of the home are perfect and the kitchen is the most stocked one of a vacation home I've ever seen. I give this home a 5 star rating or more. We hope to return in the spring.
