About this property

Engine 24 Firehouse Bedroom 1

Room 1, on the main floor, features a self-contained loft bedroom, complete with a seating area and a full bathroom on the lower level, and a queen-sized bed in the loft area.

The Engine 24 French Quarter Firehouse offers a unique Bed & Breakfast experience! Guests can stay in a genuine historic firehouse with modern conveniences in this beautifully renovated property. Situated in the vibrant Faubourg Marigny, often hailed as one of America's top neighborhoods by travel magazines, it is adjacent to the historic and picturesque French Quarter. On the other side lies the trendy Bywater district, known for its excellent local restaurants and lively bars. The bed & breakfast, a former fire station, has been transformed into a cozy retreat for both tourists and locals to immerse themselves in New Orleans' rich culture. This historic edifice once served as the home for Engine 24 of the New Orleans Fire Department. In the 2000s, local architect William Sonner acquired and refurbished the Firehouse, which has since become a sought-after vacation rental in the city. The Firehouse boasts seven bedrooms: three loft bedrooms on the Main Floor, two in the courtyard, and two in the Penthouse, which are offered together as a two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment with a full kitchen, laundry room, dining and living areas. Each bedroom comes with a private, full bathroom and offers a distinct experience. The Firehouse features a spacious lobby with plenty of seating, a pool table, games, and a library. A kitchenette is available with a variety of coffee and tea selections, along with a water cooler, microwave, toaster, and refrigerator. Guests can also enjoy the charming New Orleans courtyard, complete with a fountain and outdoor seating. It is important to note that the Firehouse is a lodging establishment located within a residential area.

Overall great experience, loved the history of it. However, there is no private parking, only the street. There were dirty linen bags throughout the property, but our room was very clean. And the matress is beyond firm, almost felt like camping on the ground. Did not make for a good night sleep. But overall, we will definitely be bqck. Loved the food in the area and the museums. Had a great time!
