About Ken Petterson

Two retired educators from Toronto who moved to the Laurentians and started new careers as educators here. Two boys who grew up in this chalet and who are now at University of Montreal.

Ken Petterson purchased this chalet in 2002

Why Ken Petterson chose Mont Tremblant Area

This chalet was our home for 8 years. The boys grew up here, built a tree house on the property, played in the river and lake, and skied and raced every winter. It is a great place to experience the outdoors. We loved it, still do, and hope that you will share the experience.

What makes this chalet unique

Quiet, solitude, in the heart of nature, 'far from the madding crowd', but close to all amenities and activities. A fantastic 4 season chalet.

Great place

  • 5 of 5

First and foremost Ken was very professional in terms of responding back to any questions. Wish all hosts would be like him .

The chalet itself is huge!! It's rustic and basic , more than u need to stay during spring break . We were too busy skiing, tubing, and ice fishing to actually truly enjoy the place. The place looks exactly like the pictures ! Rooms are very spacious and water pressure is great!! No complaints. Would stay here again!!

Owner's Response: Mary Lou, Thanks for the review. You arrived just after the biggest snowfall of the season. Your first inquiry after digging thru the 3 feet of snow at the front door was for the snowplow guy to come. I received it while sitting on the beach at Curacao. He did arrive and yes it is a great place to stay in any season. I am so happy that you enjoyed your stay at the chalet and experienced the surrounding property in the best of winter snow.. I usually meet guests on arrival, but it was my March break too. Be assured that I had you covered! We appreciate great clients do come again. Ken

Wonderful vacation

  • 5 of 5

We booked the house a few months in advance and I got to know Ken through personal conversation and multiple emails we exchanged. I felt like we were coming to visit a good friend or a family. He is the most gracious host, who answered every question in a timely manner, purchased discount lift tickets for our party of 10, bought grocery per our request as we were arriving late. I've rented from Vrbo multiple times and I never experienced such hospitality and responsiveness from the host. The house was spacious and beautiful, we cooked most meals at home, the beds were comfortable. The northern part of the mountain was within 10-15 min drive, less crowded, with direct access from parking to lift chairs, compared to the main village. The main village is about 30 min drive, beautiful, touristy and festive. We had enjoyed ski school for kids, variety of restaurants and New Year celebration with live music! We had the best vacation ever.

Owner's Response: Svetlana, Thank you for the review. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay. It is a long way from Vegas and an absolutely different climate. The chalet was in great shape when you left and I liked what the kids did with the Xmas tree I had outside. I was happy to hear that you used all of the discount ski tickets. You were really avid skiers. The chalet is now rented for the rest of the ski season. Have a great 2015. Ken

We recently stayed at Chalet La Grise. Ken, the owner, was extremely helpful and accommodating. He was flexible with our requests and was available for questions. The house was very clean and spacious, and was well-maintained. The property is beautiful, and the area is very quiet. The lake access is a short drive. Would definitely recommend to others who are looking for a quiet get-away

Owner's Response: Harold and family, It was nice to meet the family and we are so glad you enjoyed your stay. It has been a very busy August, but we have been fortunate to have fabulous guests who have sampled the activities of the Lac Superieur region. You left the chalet as you found it and we appreciate great clients. Thanks again for the review. Come and see us again when you visit Canada. Ken and Janique

Great getaway

  • 5 of 5

We lucked into this property at the last minute before our vacation, and were very happy with our stay here. Arriving at La Grise we noted how well-kept the property is, and the interior was spotless. Ken had set up everything for us in advance, all we had to do was put our food in the fridge and then go explore the lovely property. The nearby stream provided hours of entertainment for the kids, and La Grise served as a perfect home base for our day trips into Mont Tremblant provincial park and the village. A good drive, but not far.

Ken provided great guidance for all the local amenities and routes to our destinations.

As an added bonus, we discovered that the restaurant La Rustique just down the road is a great quality meal in a low-key setting. They were also accommodating of our kids, making pasta and home-made chicken strips for them.

Owner's Response: James, Thanks for the review. We have been very busy this month. Seems like everyone on the planet has discovered Tremblant. The Ironman is on Sunday and the place is packed. We appreciate great clients and you and your family were just that. The chalet was spotless when you left. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay and sampled some of the activities in the region. We hope to see you again in the near future when you can enjoy a repeat renter discount. The chalet is most beautiful in the winter come and join us then. Ken
