Hosts were attentive, kids enjoyed the yard and especially the swing and were not on their devices constantly. House was clean with plenty of space for all 9 of us.
Stayed here with extended family with kids and adults and it was perfect! My nieces and nephews spent hours on the tree swing! A great set up for everyone to stay together but also have privacy. Gorgeous location too!
this house and property are just beautiful and the host was wonderful. So rare on vrbo to have one’s expectations exceeded. We loved the quiet and the patio.
Our two night stay was excellent for our return to Charlottesville and the Foxfield Races! Property is exactly as advertised! The outdoor fire pit and space was wonderful to bring our family and friends together!
We had a lovely stay at this property! We loved the ping pong and foosball tables and the outdoor area in particular. It was clean, cozy, had plenty of towel and linens, and lots of sleeping options.
This was a great location and property for our 3 sons and their families. The outdoor space was perfect for a small pool and the grandkids loves the swing on the beautiful oak tree. Each famliy had there own sleeping space on each floor. A perfect place for large familes to meet.
Awesome quick getaway with old friends. Went into town for great meals but the best part was sitting by the fire pit in front of the majestic oak tree. Great spot for our get together.
Everything is as appears/stated in the listing. Easy check in and check out process. Thank you for allowing us to use your property for our trip. Will definitely recommend to others!
We had a great time at Mary's home in the woods. We are UVA alums, so it was great to be back at our old stomping grounds. The kitchen was well-appointed and the beds were cozy. The kids didn't like that there weren't any streaming options for them, but the parents didn't mind! ;) Overall, it was a great place to stay with family.
We had an amazing stay in Charlottesville thanks to Mary and her wonderful property! We had a large group of friends and family, and I must say, all 10 of us were very impressed by how comfortable and spacious the accommodations were. We especially enjoyed the large outdoor patio area, it was a perfect weekend. I would definitely recommend this property to any families or groups looking to have a memorable weekend in Charlottesville!!
We had five families with children vacationing together and the house was perfect!! Everyone had their own living area and there was so much room. The kids especially loved the indoor play rooms and the amazing swing hanging from the house’s namesake tree. The adults enjoyed how peaceful the area was while still being just a drive away from Charlottesville. It was truly the ideal vacation house.
The house accommodated our family perfectly. Love the twin beds for each of the kids. We had one day of rain and the space in the house was perfect for spending the day inside. To the owner. light on the microwave is burned out. The house had a musty odor upon arrival.. probably from being closed up. Nice new skillets.
This house was a fantastic getaway for a group of 12 - 6 adults, 5 kids ranging in age from 9-16, and a baby. There was plenty of room for everyone, and the kids loved having their own basement retreat! We appreciated how well-stocked the kitchen was — we easily had what we needed to make food for our large group. The property was pretty and peaceful, and we loved catching fireflies at night!
This house is perfect for connecting with friends and family. The kitchen is large, well appointed, and well suited to cook together. The outdoor firepit and nearby trails made for a perfect weekend of reconnecting and relaxing with a group old friends. Everything was perfectly clean, there were thoughtful touches all over the house (fresh sheets and towels exactly where you'd hope to find them). I would absolutely stay here again.
Our large family with multiple kids from 4-11 came from Kentucky for my son to get married in Charlottesville. House was perfect for kids to sleep & plenty of games for them to play in the basement. Very kid oriented house. Thanks for sharing so we could all stay together! Beautiful property!
The Tree House was perfect for our family. We came to Charlottesville for our daughter's wedding and needed a place big enough to hold our family of 10 plus another family of four. We felt like there was plenty of room and the surrounding area is beautiful! It is a little way from grocery stores or other shopping, but the location is peaceful and quiet and we loved sitting on the porch and enjoying the yard. Everything was clean and roomier than it looks in the photos. We would definitely stay here again.
7 ladies rented this house for a getaway. It was perfect. So many bedrooms and bathrooms. Great living space for all of us to gather. Well stocked kitchen with Kindle and regular coffee pots. We loved the outside fire pit and used it all nights that we were there. Our group gets away together once per year, and it's going to be hard to find a better house.
Full of delightful things to enjoy: 2 firepits and a wood stove, tree swing, pond, fields, beauty of surrounding woods, a 'surprise' children's playroom and a basement full of fun things to do, with plenty of other games and toys; comfortable and enjoyable for family members from 2-70
My large family had a great experience staying here for a long weekend. There was ample and comfortable space for everyone. The outdoor area was so easy to use and we spent most of our time here with several cookouts. The indoor rooms & activities for kids and the outdoor space were perfect for all of us. Thank you.
It meant a lot to have this comfortable homelike space for this special weekend when our family interred my husband's ashes at Panorama Natural Burial.
We rented this property to handle the cousin overflow from a family Thanksgiving in Charlottesville. We had 14 people total with an age range of 77 to 3 years old. The house suited everyone! It was clean, had ample towels and blankets, easy access to walking trails, and a much-enjoyed wood-burning stove in the living area. It was the perfect balance of well-cared-for yet relaxed, cozy but with plenty of space to retreat, and a private location with easy access to town. This lovely home will be our first choice when returning to Charlottesville. Thank you for wonderful stay!
