About Jessica Young

I am a stay at home mom and my husband is the service manager at our local car dealership. We have two young children and enjoy the outdoors.

Jessica Young purchased this cabin in 2012

Why Jessica Young chose Northeast

As avid lovers of the outdoors, this area really beckoned to us. With 2 state parks, the Willard Munger trail and the Kettle River so close to us, we have many opportunities to do all the outdoor activities we love.

What makes this cabin unique

We fell in love with this place from the minute we saw it. This cozy escape was everything we were looking for.

Guys Weekend

  • 5 of 5

Jessica was a wonderful and responsive host. The pictures of this cabin do not do it full justice, it is larger than it appears to be. The cabin was well equipped with basic essentials such as bedding and kitchen utensils and tons of games and movies. When we got there, the grill was in disrepair, but Jessica promptly replaced by the next morning. There is plenty of space for outdoor activities, including a well maintained sauna. The neighbors were friendly but the cabin was still plenty secluded. Overall we had an excellent weekend, and hope to be back next year!

Mediocre

  • 2 of 5

The cabin itself is comfortable and well-appointed. The beds are comfortable, the kitchen provisioned with cookware, etc. The location is not great. It is located in a dark, dismal little spot, not close to the river. If you are looking to experience the outdoors, I would not recommend it.

Wonderful family vacation

  • 5 of 5

This cabin is so cute and thoughtfully furnished. We enjoyed the sauna, games, porch and deck. Lush woodsy area around cabin made it so beautiful. We went whitewater kayaking on the Kettle River in Banning State park, hiked in the park and enjoyed a drive and a swim in St. Croix State park. We found so much to do, but also spent time relaxing in the cabin. We had a wonderful week!

Quiet, secluded location...highly recommend this cabin!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great weekend at this cabin on the Kettle River. The cabin was very clean, well kept and fully stocked with games, movies, and kitchen essentials...you can tell the owners take wonderful care of it. Jessica was easy to work with, and responsive to any questions we had. The location was easy to find (you do have to drive on a few miles of gravel), close to town, yet still felt secluded and away from road traffic. We met the neighbor and he showed us how to get down to the river via his trail. Most of the trails on the property were muddy and buggy, so wear old shoes and bring bug spray :) but there is a lot of land to explore right around the cabin! We didn't use the sauna as it was hot and humid during out stay but hope to come back in the fall or winter to try it out. There is also a nice fire pit, charcoal grill and a screened-in porch when the bugs get bad. We highly recommend this cabin and look forward to staying here again!

The Perfect Cozy Cabin for the Weekend!

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was cute and small. It was perfect for the six of us for a little retreat away from the city and work but close enough that it wasn't a pain to drive. Only an hour and about twenty minutes from St. Paul. The porch is airy and nice to relax away from the mosquitos. The deck was a great place for breakfast. We did not spend time in the basement or sauna as we were only there Friday night, Saturday and Sunday. We spent our Saturday at Banning State Park. The drive was only 18 minutes. It was nice to come back to the cabin after a tiring hike. The one bathroom was not a problem for us, we did find that the door could not lock as the latch did reach the hole. The kitchen was well equipped, the movies were great, and the couch was comfy! The twin beds are a tad smaller than the average twin bed which was not a problem, it was just funny to see bigger guys sleeping on them. Jessica was very responsive and helpful. Thanks for a great cabin! Hopefully we can nab it next year as well!
