We obviously felt the need to respond to this extremely inaccurate review and provide our side of the story. First and foremost - it is absolutely disheartening to hear that Carol thinks that we did not have sympathy for this situation and said that they should be happy for the credit that they were given. Wish could send messages where we repeatedly apologize for the situation and called out the credit amount so that they were aware of exactly the refund they were given as Vrbo could not process it themselves. Heck we even went over to Crumble cookies and had them sent to them as a small token of our sympathy for the situation. Secondly - the root cause of this issue was system glitch related to another website, where our calendars were not connected for several hours during the time of this reservation was made. This has been resolved and will not be an issue going forward we are told. Thirdly - we always communicate with our guest several days leading up to their arrival to ensure that they have our check-in instructions and know their time of arrival. This did not happen in this case. This again proves the point that we were completely unaware of this situation until the guest reached out several hours before their arrival. This is when we urge the guest in the future to reach out several times to a host to ensure that everything is good to go for their stay proactively as opposed to some system, automated message from the hosting platform. Lastly - while the situation was unfortunate, it is important for any future guest of ours to read all of the other reviews that have been given about this place and know that this was a complete anomaly of our hosting ability and the quality of our properties. Unfortunately, it just seems that Carroll was unable to forgive us in this instance despite our various attempts….
