Peacock Cottage is a spacious two-bedroom retreat in the heart of Constantia’s beautiful wine valley, offering the perfect blend of comfort, relaxation and outdoor living. Surrounded by lush gardens, vineyards and mountain views, it is ideal for families, couples and longer stays.

One of the cottage’s most unique features is direct access to the historic Groot Constantia wine estate through our private garden gate. Guests can wander through the vineyards, enjoy award-winning wine tastings, or dine at one of the estate’s renowned restaurants, all just a short stroll from the cottage.

Inside, you’ll find two comfortable bedrooms, each with its own en-suite bathroom for added privacy and convenience. The main bedroom features a queen-size bed and interleads with a second bedroom containing twin beds, making it particularly well suited to families with younger children. A spacious open-plan lounge, dining area and fully equipped kitchen provide everything needed for both short holidays and extended stays.

Life at Peacock Cottage is centred around the outdoors. Relax on the private veranda with its built-in braai, outdoor dining area and sun loungers, or spend sunny afternoons beside the solar-heated pool. Children love the dedicated play area with jungle gym and trampoline, while parents can unwind and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. We’re Lucy and James, and together with our two young sons, we’re delighted to welcome guests to Little Vines.

Originally from the UK (Lucy) and Malta (James), we moved to Cape Town in 2017 for what was meant to be a two-year adventure. We quickly fell in love with the Constantia Valley and all that Cape Town has to offer, and many years later we’re still here, happily calling it home.

What drew us here was the incredible lifestyle – sunshine, mountains, vineyards and endless opportunities to enjoy the outdoors. Whether we’re exploring local wine estates, walking the surrounding trails, enjoying family beach days or discovering new corners of the city, we’re constantly reminded how fortunate we are to live in such a special place.

Hosting at Little Vines is about more than providing accommodation. We love creating a warm, welcoming space where guests can relax, unwind and experience the very best of Constantia and Cape Town. Each cottage has been thoughtfully designed to feel comfortable and homely, whether you’re visiting for a short holiday, a family getaway or a longer stay.

We’re always happy to share local recommendations, from our favourite restaurants and wine farms to scenic walks, beaches and hidden gems. Helping guests discover the things that make this area so special is one of the parts of hosting that we enjoy most.

We chose Constantia because it offers the best of both worlds – the peace and beauty of wine country, yet only a short drive from Cape Town’s city centre, beaches, and iconic landmarks. Surrounded by mountains, forests, and rolling vineyards, it feels like a countryside retreat while still being close to everything you could need.

Constantia is South Africa’s oldest wine-producing region, and the history here is incredible. Groot Constantia, the country’s first and most famous wine estate, is right on our doorstep, and we love being able to walk through the vines, enjoy a tasting, or stop for a long lunch with friends at one of its restaurants. Beyond Groot Constantia, the valley is full of award-winning wineries, fine dining, local markets, and scenic walking trails.
