Excellent Location!

Having stayed at several properties in the Mentone area over the years, I have to say that our recent stay at Talking Leaves was my far the best. I was somewhat concerned about the age of the property before arriving but quickly came to the realization that the property was exactly what I was looking for and is well maintained with a view that can't be beat for the area. Looking forward to our next visit.

this was family time for us and we had a great time enjoying the view from the porch. The cottage was clean and well stocked for our needs, ,We enjoyed each day we had. We had a good time hunting for bargains as we found many things on the path of The Longest Yard Sale route... Its one of my favorite places un the U.S. thanks again for sharing the cottage with us.

This home was perfect for our family weekend getaway. We had plenty of room to spread out, the beds were comfortable, everything was very clean, and the setting was lovely. The owner was extremely hospitable and easy to communicate with through messages and texts. The property is convenient to DeSoto Falls and a few local eateries. We would definitely stay here again.

Peaceful and the icing on the cake is the view!

We were looking for somewhere this past weekend to stay that allowed dogs because we were getting married and we had the opportunity to stay at this beautiful home with a stunning view that took our breath away! Everything you need!

We loved our stay at the Talking Leaves Cottage. The place has beautiful views, the house has everything you need, the host it’s very responsive. We were able to slow down, rest, and enjoy the area. Nice trails to a waterfall nearby. There are groceries and restaurants options in the area.

This is a beautiful house with the best views and gorgeous sunsets. You have everything you need in the house. But I do recommend bringing binoculars The beds are very comfortable. It is also very close to Mentone for a quick trip to the market. Fort Payne is not far away. I also recommend eating at the Tiger Inn in Valley head. Home made french fries! Misty is a wonderful host and will go above and beyond to help youGreat place to stay. I highly recommend it

Warm and inviting!

This is the most charming location in the hamlet of Mentone! The decor was warm and inviting. The deck was large and easy to watch the evening sunset. Beds were very comfortable!

Celebrated our 40th Anniversary weekend with family. The cottage property provided more than sufficient accommodations for the six of us, and included a stellar AM and PM view of the valley throughout the day from the large deck area. We will be back for a longer stay in 2026.

What a peaceful step-away from the day-to-day grind!

Beautiful mountain views with such a cozy abode! Loved sipping my coffee overlooking the mountain each morning and hearing the leaves whisper around the fire pit in the late afternoons. Felt like our own private retreat!
