Spectacular views at Pelican Cove - Your own luxury Caribbean Penthouse

1,665 sq. ft. Penthouse – 3rd floor with exclusive 4th floor master suite, soaring ceilings and two large covered balconies one for dining and grilling, including teak wood bar. The upper balcony is an exclusive 4th floor private oasis, which features spectacular panoramic Caribbean views. This truly sets our property apart from all others. Enjoy watching the sky and listening to the surf with a gentle breeze from your perch on top of this idyllic beachfront condo.

St. Croix is the largest, most diverse, and friendliest of the US Virgin Islands. It isn't too touristy; it feels like a small town, and yet there is much to do and see.

Accommodations: Penthouse condominium, 3 bedrooms (beds... 1 King, 1 Queen, 2 Twins/King) There are two full baths with double sinks and a half-bath. The master suite has a view of Buck Island from shower. Everything you need is included - linens, completely equipped kitchen, in-unit private laundry, towels, and and beach chairs.

The sea is a protected coral reef, great for beach combing wave washed shells and sea glass. Access to the Pelican Cove beach is only a few feet from our back door. Lounge chairs await on the secluded strip of sandy beach. While all beach edges on the Island are public, Pelican Cove has a private manicured beach cut into its property line. More often than not, the beach is occupied only by sea birds and white egrets.

A few steps walking down the beach is excellent swimming and great snorkeling. St. Croix is famous for diving and snorkeling! Kayaking is minutes away with phosphorescent night trips available. Horseback riding on the beach can be arranged.

Our huge private pool (for Pelican Cove guests) is crystal clear and purified without unpleasant chlorine. There is also an open-air, hot tub adjacent to the pool.

This secluded area is ideal for teenagers to be independent and yet close to the property.

The pool setting is large enough to allow couples their privacy and families plenty of space for fun.

Nightlife ...

The Palms Resort is only a five minute walk along a lighted path and presents a wide variety of live entertainment to all. 'There's something fun for everyone almost every night of the week!' There is no need to leave the area for fun and food - 2 restaurants/pubs are right next door, but not intrusive. Ideal for an evening out without needing to travel in a car.

Duty Free Shopping in downtown Christiansted and a myriad of restaurants and night life are a ten minute drive from the condo. St Croix also features St George Botanical Gardens, Buck Island National Park, the Whim Plantation experience, many guided tours (snorkeling, diving and sunset cruises), golf courses and a casino.

This Penthouse luxury condo feels like a whole villa - private, quiet, two levels, not a soul peeking into your balcony areas, white egrets nesting in the wild within view.

Pelican Cove is one of the top three condominiums on St. Croix, and is the most centrally located. Our gated community has an on-site maintenance staff, who are always eager to be of assistance.

We come several times a year to avail ourselves of it's unique benefits and to make sure the property is well maintained for our guests; many return year-after-year.

The weather is typically tropical and sunny and varies little between seasons although summer is slightly more humid. The temperature averages in the 80's during the day and 70's at night. Brief showers of rain (most last only minutes) provide a total annual rainfall of about 45 inches. Trade winds gently blow across the island, keeping the humidity low.

English is the language spoken by residents. As a U.S. territory, the island is governed by U.S. laws and uses the U.S. dollar as it's currency. US citizens need no passports, just a picture ID - easy in and out.

Because there are only 47 units on an expansive and beautifully landscaped 8+ acres, you have the beach mostly to yourself - private, quiet, but centrally located, near shopping, water sports, town, airport, and The Palms Hotel, etc. The beach is beautiful and ever changing. You'll never get tired of walking it, getting in the sea, or simply watching the waves roll in.

Three great public golf courses nearby - Carambola Gold Club, a Robert Trent Jones design and Buccaneer Golf Club are the best. Great restaurants and Crucian fare wait. Rum and other refreshments are inexpensive.

There is simply always something fun to do every day in St. Croix.

We have rented villas and condos in the past and this condo was one of he best equipped condos we've ever rented. It was very spacious and all furnishings were in excellent condition. We spent much of our time on the spacious terraces which had lovely private views. Communication with the condo owners was excellent. The pool area was larger than some of the hotels we visited. The other condo owners were very friendly always greeting us and saying hello. We highly recommend renting this condo.

Great trip, great condo...

Beautiful condo, exactly as described. We had an issue getting in upon arrival, but the owner was very responsive and took care of it immediately - to me, that would make me rent from Jim again. Lots of room for 6 people. Beautiful pool, lots of furniture all over, and a well stocked kitchen. The patios were a great place to wake up with coffee and for drinks in the late afternoon. A few things. The swimming beach is a good 5 minute walk down the beach, which is difficult to navigate with continued remnants of the hurricanes (we assume); we just drove over. The condo complex is great, but it does require a car - we got a jeep to be safe and with the pot holes and speed bumps everywhere on the island, we were glad we got the Jeep. The island itself is still working it's way back from the hurricane, but while we were there, you could tell they were cleaning, improving and trying - each and every day. Some of the nicest people we've met anywhere. EVERYONE was friendly - don't judge a book by its cover. The island is for explorers, in my opinion, not for those looking for a 5 star beach resort, where you don't leave the resort. Point Udall and the hike down to Isaac Bay is a must do. Beach day at Cane Bay and then Eat@Cane is a must. Big Beard's Snorkel Tour was great. Spent 1/2 day at the Bucaneer - it was ok - great burger though! Spent a lot of time at the Palms down the beach. Beautiful spot and it was worth staying here and using their facilities (Jim's internet was 1000% better anyway). The road through the rainforest was really cool. Just wish we had cash to watch the pigs shotgun a beer. No, not a metaphor. Didn't care for Rainbow Beach on a cruise ship day, but we ventured down to SandCastle and it was perfect - great bar, beach and pool. A great spot. Also ended up at the Nauti Bar and Grill and loved it - awesome food, great service and people.

If you're adventurous, and don't mind bumpy roads and saying good morning and good afternoon to locals - which usually starts conversations that go on and on, then this is the island (and condo) for you. Not the most polished island (by a long shot), but that's why we went and it didn't disappoint. We spent a week and easily could have spent another.... Thank you Jim!

It was nice.

We had a good week. The best part of the condo is the porch off the master bedroom on the second floor. It is an amazing view, great breezes and comfy chairs. Having an end condo facing the ocean is a must. The pool is nice. The condo is spacious and that was a plus for our family. The condo seems to be in a state of being updated. The master is very nice and clean and the bed is comfortable - it is upstairs with the Laundry. The downstairs - kitchen in particular needs some updating and thorough cleaning. The downstairs beds were pretty uncomfortable. The area is still struggling from the hurricane so some of the businesses were hard to contact. Phone service comes and goes. There was no cable service. It is isolated so you need a car. The beach is private and small - it is hard to swim there because of the rocks, shells and sea grass. But the breeze off the water was pleasant. Felt very safe. We had several maintenance issues and the owners were quick to respond and were helpful but the maintenance staff was not available and we had to wait 5 days for our issues to be addressed - which was a bummer because the air conditioners were leaking and flooding the decks which made it a bit difficult to enjoy them. One of them did get fixed the other remained an issue the whole trip.

Owner's Response: This renter does point out the best positive aspects of our condo. The views from the balconies are exceptional and watching the sea from our comfortable deck furniture is our favorite part of being there. Directly in front of our condo, the shore is a coral reef. A comfortable sandy bottom entry is only 100 yards down the beach toward the Palms Resort. The kitchen has all new appliances, (microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator), the oven-range will be replaced this year even though it is perfectly functional. The renter, our first post-hurricane, reported two maintenance issues. They said the hot water was not working.The heater had been turned off because of the long vacancy after the hurricane. Switching the water heater back on was an oversight. A flick of the switch corrected that. The air conditioner problem, a result of a condensation drain damaged during the hurricane, was undetected until power was restored, and they were in use. The air conditioners functioned fine, but a drainage tube on the exterior was broken. This was reported on the weekend before Monday Christmas. Hence, the delay in response. Our staff is on call for weekends and holiday emergencies, but a matter of water puddling outside the condo was not adequate reason to interrupt a Christmas holiday. The renters did not report to me that the second air conditioner remained an issue. Although the renters signed an agreement acknowledging that check out time is 11:00 am, they refused to allow my cleaning staff entrance to the condo well past that time, insisting that they were staying until 3:00. This inconsiderate move effected not only the cleaning staff and the property manager, but more importantly the next renters, who were due to check in at 4:00 that day. The cleaners had to wash the copious laundry (2 trash bags full of towels) at the laundromat, because they did not have enough time to wash them at the condo before the arrival of the next renters. Our cleaning staff had to wait in the parking lot until I could contact my property manager to make a special trip to ask them to vacate and allow the cleaning staff to do their job. I believe this encounter on their final day is the reason for their less than stellar review. I take pride in offering a clean and comfortable accommodation for our guests, and I regret the inconveniences sited. However, the fact that the renter had to be asked to vacate after check out time, was, in my opinion, the main issue that tarnished their stay.

Nice Condo

Overall the condo was very nice. Beds and furniture was comfortable and the unit was clean. I stayed for 3 weeks for work. I had family visit while I was there and there is plenty of room for a larger group. Good location about 5 min drive to Christensted. The washer and dryer were a nice feature and the seating on the upper deck were very nice. Easy walk to the Palm restaurant and bar. Food is fairly good. I was staying during the slow season so many units were unoccupied. The pool is very nice and was usually deserted.

All a person could want on St. Croix!

I'm certain the owners have heard this before but this place is paradise! The beautifully appointed condo is the perfect home base for all our island explorations. We enjoyed beginning our day with a gorgeous sunrise from the penthouse bed! Walking along the beach was the first activity which was always followed with a swim in the very large pool. So refreshing! The pool was well maintained. We often went exploring the island during the day but loved coming back to that penthouse outdoor balcony! The views in 3 directions were breathtaking!! The owner, Jim, really seemed sincere in wanting us to thoroughly enjoy our stay. All the amenities you could desire were there for us to use. We greatly appreciated the use of Jim's beach towels and beach chairs. Would totally love to come back - such a beautiful place. Thank you immensely, Jim!

Absolutely Stunning.

Words cannot properly describe the beauty of St.Croix and this property. The condo has everything you need for a comfortable and memorable vacation, including linens, towels (shower & beach), water shoes, chairs, washer/dryer & a fully equipped kitchen. Located north east, pelican cove is just a short drive to anything you would need. Our favorite place was cane bay (only 15 min drive). I would reccomend renting a car, if you want to visit multiple places.. taxis can get a expensive & so is the food. However, the beauty of St.Croix, the water, the skies, the people, the beaches... Its worth every penny.

I would highly reccomend this property for anyone who wants the seclusion of a condo along with the convenience to the culture and beauty that St.Croix has to offer.

Thank you for giving my family & I a vacation we'll never forget!

Great property and loaction!

I took my two teenager's and one of their friends to St Croix in July. We had an incredible time. This rental was perfect. Clean, well stocked, perfectly situated. The pool and private beach were beautiful. We headed out most days to explore the island and hike, swim and snorkel. It was so nice to come back at night to this rental and relax at the pool or on the deck that overlooked the ocean. All the amenities of home made it a great spot for us.
