The perfect place to enjoy southern Florida.

After a short drive from Ft. Lauderdale, this Pops Bear was ready to relax with Ma Bear, Kid Bear, and Grandma & Papa Bear for a week on Marco Island in this beautiful vacation home. We couldn’t have been more happy! Tom, our host, was an extremely nice and accommodating guy. Upon arrival he greeted us, went over where everything was and how things worked in the house. He spent time going over a map of the island with us showing us some of the key places. Overall, he made us feel comfortable and welcome. The main entryway opens up into a large open great room with lots of natural light and a great view of the pool and waterways. There was a nice formal dining area and a fully-equipped kitchen connected which made it easy to relax, cook meals, and be together. But what we loved most was being able to step right out to the enclosed lanai and pool. This virtually doubled the living space and made it very easy to entertain Kid Bear. The home was perfect for a family of bears, as it provided a perfect balance of being together or having privacy when we wanted. The master suite is on one side of the house and the other two bedrooms are on the opposite side. That made it nice for Grandma and Papa Bear to get some rest when Kid Bear decided to wake up early in the morning! All three bedrooms were very comfortable with pillow top mattresses and soft bed linens, but the master suite stood out. It’s hard not to relax when you have a full pillow top king-sized bed to sleep on, a huge bathroom with an oversized tub and shower to bathe in, and a sliding glass door that leads directly to the pool. All the things a family might need in a house were there, including utensils, linens, dishes, cooking spices, pots, pans, etc. Everything you’d need for a trip to the beach, including umbrellas and sand mats, were all there. Pool toys, soap and shampoo, and a really nice grill were available. One of our favorite things about the house was getting up early in the morning, being able to take a few steps out to the boat dock, and watching the sun rise. This home is central to everything. Both beaches are about 10 minutes away and both have fun activities such as parasailing and renting wave runners. Most of the restaurants are 5-10 minutes away. Pops Bear recommends driving 30 minutes into Naples, FL for a nice evening out. After a week there we were sad to have to go back to our cave. There is a LOT to love about this wonderful Marco Island vacation home and we would definitely recommend it to anyone. Thanks for the great experience!

Upmarket and Classy

If you are looking for something special you won’t go far wrong with this property!

From the outside this is a neat and tidy looking home on a large corner plot, then you walk through the doors and WOW! this place is stunning!

The first thing that you notice is the view, but before we talk about that I have to talk about the inside. The great room is large, spacious and has two mirrored walls giving a feeling of even more space. The furnishings are high end, cool, contemporary style with just a touch of Art Deco. The 62” TV should dominate but the surroundings are such that it’s perfect and although we didn’t watch much TV it was great for the soccer!

The kitchen with its granite worktops and good quality appliances was a joy to cook in and we used it a lot during our 9 night stay.

There are three beautiful bedrooms, one with direct access on to the pool deck. We only used the master where the bed and pillows were so comfortable and where the quality of the bed linens was exquisite. The en suite with its double sink, massive walk in shower and huge soaking tub was pure luxury.

Moving to the outside with the stunning view down two waterways, there is a lovely seating area as well as comfortable chairs and footstools and a couple of loungers. There is an outside dining table and chairs where can eat the meals you have prepared on the large BBQ grill. The pool was warm, even in late October and although the deck faces NE it gets sun early on in the morning and again later in the afternoon. Although we are big sun worshipers this was, for us, a beach holiday ( beach chairs and umbrellas for your use in the home ) so the lack of dawn to dusk sun did not worry us, also I would imagine that in the summer this deck gets long hours of sun.

Marco is a great place and has a bit of everything, great beaches, good shopping, fantastic restaurants and if you like your exercise there are plenty of walking, running or biking (3 bikes for use in the home) trails around.

Finally a word about our host, Tom, who was genial and accommodating. Communications with him throughout the whole process have been great, we had a couple of problems when we were there, just due to our lack of familiarity with the home, but he was prompt in his responses and soon sorted us out.

Tom’s home is amazing and when we return to Marco, which we will, we will be looking to rent again.........then again, Tom also has a condo which from the photos looks stunning soooooo.............

Superb villa. Look no further.

  • 5 of 5

As most people do, my wife and I spent quite a few hours (if not days) trawling through all of the different houses and condos that are available to rent on Marco. Once we identified ones that we liked I emailed the owners and enquired as to availability. Tom was one of them. He was extremely efficient and answered almost immediately. I asked him quite a few questions about his property which he answered very quickly by return email. Others were not so efficient or helpful. We agreed on a price and that was it. Several months later we travelled to Marco and when we got on the island we texted Tom. When we arrived ten minutes later he was there to greet us and explain how everything works, where to go to eat and drink etc etc. We really wish that we hadn't wasted our time considering other places. This place is perfect. Neither the pictures or Vimeo video online do it justice.

Everything is spotless. The bedrooms, lounge, bathrooms and kitchen are all first class. The air conditioning works beautifully, which is a blessing when it's pushing 100 degrees outside. The patio and pool area are perfect for lounging around enjoying the sun. Also perfect for the evening BBQ which we did more than once, even during a storm. There are bikes in the garage which we used to cycle around the island and nothing is really too far. The nearest big supermarket is Publix which is a five minute bike ride or ten minute walk away. The nearest bars are a bit further away but no more than a sedate fifteen minute bike ride. Two minutes in a car, but who wants to take the car to a bar? I also tried the fishing (with the rods in the garage) in the canal. Caught a few catfish but couldn't quite catch one of the big edible species that are in there. Overall we had a great time and would undoubtedly recommend Tom's place to anyone. One thing we found out late in our holiday was that many of the good restaurants on the island supply complimentary taxis too and from their premises. Went to CJs one night (have a look online).Free cab there and back (apart from few dollars tip). Would we go back to Tom's place? Definitely! Would we recommend this to friends and family? Absolutely! We didn't have any questions after our first chat with Tom but if there are any questions or problems he lives next door.

I could go on and on about the villa but I think you know what my wife and I think of it by now.

Great view and location

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time. The house was very clean and Tom had it ready for us even though we arrived a little early. The pool and patio were clean and very nice. The house is a short drive to the beaches, restaurants/shopping, and marinas but the neighborhood is very quiet and low key. Would definitely recommend.

An amazing house, location and host.

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at 1598 San Marco from April 15th to the 22nd. Our first trip to Marco Island. The home was extremely clean, tastefully decorated and ample size for our family. Tom met us at the house and went over all of the specifics. You couldn't have asked for a kinder or more attentive host. Anything we needed or question we had he got right back to us and was more than willing to offer recommendations, suggestions, etc. If you're going to Marco and don't want to stay at the Marriott or Hilton then this is the way to go. We definitely plan on returning.
