About John Kirkelie
I grew up in North Dakota and my wife's family is from the Portugese colony of Goa India. She was born in Nairobi, lived in London and moved to Alberta where we met. We enjoy the quiet at the 'cabin' and the deer in the yard and being able to see the milky way and all the stars at night.
John Kirkelie purchased this Cabin in 2005
Why John Kirkelie chose Condon
We were stationed in Edmonton, Alberta and we were looking for a replacement property for a rental we had in Denver. My niece lives by Flathead Lake on the west side of the Mission Mts and we started looking there but expanded our search and found this beautiful log home over the Mt.
What makes this Cabin unique
This Swan Valley corridor is a true wilderness area where development is limited to provide corridors for the Grizzly Bears to transit between the Bob Marshall Wilderness to the East and the Mission Mountain Wilderness area to the West. At the property you feel isolated but are actually close to the highway. You will see deer out the window daily and possibly other wildlife. A great place to take a break from a hectic pace. There is no TV(bring DVD's-video games etc), internet or cell phone service at the cabin. Cell phone service is nearby. On a clear night there are more stars visible than you can imagine.

Awesome place for a large family or group gathering! 👍
A group of women and I get together every year for a girl's hunting weekend. This year we decided to rent the Elk Antler Lodge. With five bedrooms and three bathrooms it was perfect for our group. Everything was provided, towels, linens, dishes, and coffee pot. Neat and clean. We really enjoyed the pool table. We had a great time. John, the owner was very nice and helpful. We definitely will rent this cabin again!
Thank you for the great review.
We are pleased that your unique group of women hunters found the cabin perfect for your stay. We certainly look forward to having you back again soon.
Seen mule deer. Was wonderful
Was beautiful. Seen where bear was tearing up stumps. Very quiet and relaxing. Would surly come back. Thank you.
This was a great find. Very nice landscaping, comfortable and very clean place, with lots of room, in and out, to kick back. I initially had the dates wrong, and John the owner was flexible in changing them for me. We'd book it again.
Thank you Beth for the great review. It is always nice to hear that a guest would book again. We look forward to having you back again.
Perfect accommodations in a lovely area
We had a family of 10, ranging from 5 months to 87 years over the 4th of July weekend. It was a great spot to be at a cabin without seeing neighbors (other than the wildlife), yet relatively close to the road and nearby Holland Lake. We enjoyed a couple days at the lake where we could rent kayaks, canoes, paddle boards and hike. They also served a nice lunch at the Lodge. The cabin provided a perfect setting for the family to unplug, play cards, pool and other games. Very relaxing with all that was necessary to cook if we wanted and access many activities. Would definitely stay there again.
Thank you Ann for the nice review. I am glad your entire family enjoyed their stay. And the wildife did their part to entertain you.
It is nice to hear that Holland Lake has all the things you mentioned to make your visit there a pleasant one, and it is so close to the cabin.
we look forward to your next visit.
lovely place to stay and easily accommodate 10 to 12 people
Spacious living spaces and the pool table was a plus as entertainment for our family. The house sits in the woods and there was lots of wildlife viewing. We would definitely come back.
Thank you Connie for the review. we are happy that your family enjoyed their time at the cabin and we look forward to having you back someday.
Great weekend retreat
Some good friends got together to have a ladies weekend away and to do some snowshoeing, already living in Montana we try to find a place just far enough from home. This home was a perfect place for a get-away. The kitchen had everything we needed, we threw everything into the crock pot for soup and went down to Holland Lake, a nice snow shoe hike to the water falls was so rewarding. Coming back to the cabin the fireplace was so nice to warm up to, and dinner was ready. We really enjoyed the space as we all had our own bedroom, with comfy beds, with lots of peace & quiet. Several of us are considering another stay this coming summer to do some kayaking, the only problem is not being able to bring my dog as protection.
Dena thank you for your great review. You are the first snowshoers to use the cabin. It is nice to hear about new ventures and that trip to Holland Falls sounds like a real good one.
We look forward to having you back for that Kayaking trip this summer.
Located next to the Bob Marshall Wilderness area for hunting, hiking, riding. Seeley Lake has hundreds of miles of groomed snowmobile trails for winter fun. Several senic lakes are near the highway. Deer visit daily. Near Holland Lake Lodge, a favorite wedding destination. An easy 1 1/2 hour drive to Glacier Park or Whitefish MT to ski.
