Great beach location, but getting to the unit was definitely interesting. It’s beachfront and in walking distance of the USS Lexington, so that’s hard to beat! Overall, a great stay!
Overall a great stay, a short walk to the water and a beautiful view of the USS Lexington. I would suggest bringing a occelating fan as the AC unit does not blow heavily or cool quickly. I would also suggest bringing your own pillows as the ones provided went flat while using, even with doubling them up. If planning to use the pull out bed you will have to request the bedding for it. Once we asked it was provided quickly.

The accommodations were clean and nice on the inside and hosts were very nice to deal with. However, it is in a seedy/rundown area of the waterfront, which affected our enjoyment of the property.

Being right on the beach was fabulous. The studio was very nice. The access to studio was through a rundown hotel breeze way that had garbage laying around. The host was very nice and communication was established was responsive.

Sunrise over the ocean and it’s right out your door to a patio and the beach. It’s a newly remodeled space it’s nicely furnished functional studio. We would definitely stay again .
The room was clean and the view was great. Little individual seating areas outside. The room was difficult to get to. You have to go to the back of the Quality Inn, get to the beach area and take a right. The rooms are between the Quality Inn and the DoubleTree. Make sure you have your code and what color your room is. I would rent this room again.
Nice location on beach. A little hard to find room. No fault of owner, VRBO would not connect to his items so we could never see pictures of communicate with him. He di call to check on us which was much appreciated.
We had a great time and only wished we had booked more nights. It was what we expected. One large king sized bed and a pull out couch. The kitchen had an electric stove on top of the counter, a microwave, a toaster and a sink with dishes for a family of five. Also had a large pot, two smaller ones and two pans and a refrigerator. They had towels and linens from the Double Tree and they were very well taken care of. It felt like home away from home!Highly suggested sleeping on the porch at least once. Walking the beach walk, visiting USS Lexington (in person tickets only,) visiting the shops, we drove out to target for groceries. We spent one day on South Padre island and enjoyed the waves and fine, light brown sand. It was beautiful. The beach in front of the place was perfect too. No water shoes required for this scaredy cat I loved that our wet things could dry on the patio too. We could also go to the Double Tree for any amenities or linens and to swim. You can also utilize their breakfast buffet for 15/person. Our only suggestion is to bring paper plates if you plan on cooking a lot bc I regretted doing dishes. And an ice tray or bag of ice Thank you!! We can’t wait to come back and hopefully get two rooms.

Unfortunate Experience Despite Good Location
The location of the rental was convenient—very close to the USS Lexington and the aquarium, with plenty of food options nearby. The beach, however, was on the bay side and not as nice as the island beaches.Unfortunately, the room was infested with roaches. We discovered them at night crawling across our luggage, on the walls throughout the room, and all over our bathroom items and toiletries. They were even crawling near our dogs’ food and water bowls. One particularly disturbing moment was when I pulled a utensil from the kitchen drawer, began using it, and a roach crawled out of the handle while I was holding it. It was extremely unsettling and unsanitary. We contacted the owner, who responded quickly and had pest control come out that same day. While we appreciated the fast action, we still had to vacate the room for several hours with our dogs, which was very inconvenient. On top of that, we didn’t receive our check-in information (room number and door code) until after our scheduled check-in time, which caused unnecessary confusion and delay. While the location had its perks, the infestation and communication issues made for a disappointing and uncomfortable stay.
Host was excellent. Checked on us thru our area stay. Helped us with suggestions for places to eat and things to do. The view from our balcony was picturesque. We plan to come back.
