Surf Side Shores #1705 is an interior gulf-front 2 bedroom 2 bath condominium located on the 7th floor in building I overlooking the Gulf of Mexico. The unit is approximately 820 sq ft with views of the gulf from the living room and gulf-side master bedroom. The condo has a fully equipped kitchen with washer and dryer. There are 2 full baths with either a tub/shower combo or stand-alone shower. The gulf-side master bathroom is accessed via the bedroom and hallway. The street-side bedroom has an attached bathroom with a stand-up shower. Sleeps 6.

Surf Side Shores I and II are 9 story buildings with 6 units per floor located 1 mile West of Highway 59 in Gulf Shores. Surf Side Shores has two beach side pools, one of which is an extended season pool. The property also has a grilling area that services both buildings I and II. 2 car limit. Stays longer than 30 days must purchase parking pass(s) for every month.

This rental comes with our 'Stay and Play Package', which includes complimentary tickets to the best area activities including golfing, deep sea fishing, dolphin/nature cruise, amusement park, zoo, and movie rentals. Each rental comes with our "Stay and Play package." Some restrictions apply.

This was a last minute booking. The condo was very clean! We sat on the balcony every morning enjoyed our coffee with beautiful views. We enjoyed the heated pool since it was a bit chilly on this trip.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The condo was nice. Easy beach and pool access. Nice location. Only complaint was floors were dirty, turned bare feet black. Were only there for 3 nights so didn't contact anyone about it but they do need to clean the floors better! A little run down here and there (cracks in bedroom ceiling, closet doors off tracks and not able to be closed) but overall it was ok.

Sand and Shells

The location of the property was wonderful. It was clean and the management staff was very attentive. The pools were clean and one of the pools was kept warm, much to the delight of our grandchildren. The furnishings could use an update. The furniture in the living area is very worn and uncomfortable. The furniture outside was great and plentiful.

Great location. Property in need of updates

The location of property is wonderful. Spent most of our time in condo on balcony. Easy walk on the beach and to many restaurants. Easy check in and property mgmt was responsive. The property needs painting and had peeling paint in bedroom and bathroom. As advertised, there are no extras (paper product, hangers, soap, beach towels etc).

Floors so dirty your feet were black. Had to wear socks indoors. Guest bathroom had red crayon marks on the wall. The lining. Room rug was so dirty you couldn’t tell the color of it. It smelled of mildew strong so bad we left doors open just to air out. Balcony was very nice. Pool was nice.

A great place to stay

We had a great stay, there were a few minor things wrong but over all it was a great place to stay. The things wrong were small. There was a light socket missing a cover in the back bedroom. None of the remotes worked for the TVs all the batteries were dead. But we were not there to watch tv and the view from the balcony was awesome. I would highly recommend staying here. It is close to everything and beach is great.

Beach stay

Everything was good except the tv in living room did not work because the remote did not work. The maintenance man came and tried to fix it but he couldn’t do it. The iron was also broken. Batteries were low in remote for tv in master bedroom

A few kinks

When I arrived my key wouldn’t work. The manager came and he informed me that I had to jiggle the key in order for it to work. Got woken up at 1:30am on my departure date to water dripping in my head from the ceiling…manager came at 8am to say he didn’t know what I was talking about even thought the ceiling was wet. Shower was sour smelling. However the location was great.

I gave this 4 stars only because there were a couple of things in the unit that needed some attention. There were a couple of door knobs that didn’t lock properly and a couple of doors needed to be adjusted, and the exhaust fan in the master bath made a terrible noise. This DID NOT affect our stay though. The unit was very clean and it is located in a wonderful spot. Far enough away from the hustle and bustle to still feel quiet but close enough to everything to still be able to walk to several spots we love to visit. Communication wasn’t the greatest. I had a couple of questions prior to check in that weren’t answered, but it all worked out, and everything was fine. Again, this did not affect our stay in any way. We would stay here again for sure.

Gulf Shores Alabama

We made a reservation for a condo in Gulf Shores for the first time. The process was very easy and simple from start to finish. The condo we were assigned was exactly as the description had stated on the website. The property was very nice, clean and quiet. We only had one problem during our process which was the initial key did not work. We contacted the office and they immediately had the maintenance man come and let us. The maintenance man then went and got us the correct keys to the room while we were unloading our luggage. While staying at the property the battery went dead on our vehicle. I went to the security office in the parking lot to ask the lady for assistance in finding someone to change the battery. Instead of going through the trouble of waiting on a service company, she offered to let me use her vehicle to jump start mine. I used her vehicle to start mine and then was able to go get the battery replaced myself costing less money. This was greatly appreciated and the security lady was extremely nice helpful. The only thing she asked for in return was a smile which, was gladly given. When you are a long way from home and in an unfamiliar area people like that make a huge difference. I would recommend going through HomeAway to anyone interested in renting a condo.

It was a great view and great location just like the other reviews said. The views and location was a 5 star. My problem fell with the management I understand check in is at 3pm but my problem is that management gives you NO INFORMATION about check in till 3:01pm, by that time you are sitting in the parking lot and then have to backtrack 5 miles back to a place that you pasted up to get a key and parking passes. Then the cable to the TV’s did not work but really that did not matter thank god for cell phones for the kids for night time. The doors to the balcony in the living room was broken and would not close all the way and I called management as soon as I noticed it and they acted like I was bothering them, but my concern was I didn’t want to be blamed for breaking the doors, so yes I called and sent pictures just so they knew my family did not do these things. We did not stay in the room much thank god so over all it was ok.

Great Stay
