This VRBO was an educational experience, in the sense that it taught us what not to do when providing lodging. The third-floor walk-up was a nice surprise, if you enjoy stairwells decorated with random clothes and trash. Inside, there was no cable, a broken coffee machine, mold on the shower curtain, stains on the furniture, and plastic sheets on the beds — the hospitality equivalent of giving up.The apartment added a consistent aroma of weed and curry, which would be fine if that were a feature and not an unavoidable condition of existence. The owners were genuinely nice, which is unfortunate, because it means I can’t blame them for any of it.We would not stay here again. Once was plenty.
