Greatest Place We Have Stayed

  • 5 of 5

This was the second time we have stayed at The Villa and this times for a six week period. That says something in itself and we have already reserved a six week period for 2018. The house is comfortable, the waterfall across the road a nice place to relax and just enjoy the scenery and nature. It's close to town, there's a great park with a walking path, trout stream and it's close to La Crosse. Pete, the owner is so nice and personable. The best place we have stayed yet.

Weekend stay with friends

  • 5 of 5

We were looking for a weekend get away and this place was just perfect. This two bedroom home had everything we needed. Very peaceful and quite surrounded by beautiful scenery. Peter was very accommodating and great to work with. Take the opportunity and hike through the woods, great photo shots. In the evening started up the fire pit to kickback and relax after a busy day.

Great house and view!!

  • 5 of 5

We rented the property for the weekend, the house was very clean and had plenty of room. It was furnished with everything we needed. Awesome views of the hills and wildlife, the only downside was that it rained the whole weekend. Couldn't really go and explore the trails or have a fire. We made the best of it and would definitely rent again! I would think during late fall would be a perfect time to have a get together and cookout and enjoy the scenery when the trees are changing colors! Highly recommend this property, especially for the price!

About Pete Holte

I am the second generation owner of my family farm originally purchased in 1947. Through the years it has evolved to a hobby farm with large lawn area, hiking trails through the woods and a small vineyard. The Villa was built after the flood in 2007 to provide office space safely away from floodwaters and to provide a vacation space for those who like to escape to the countryside and enjoy nature or simply to relax and enjoy time with friends and family.

Pete Holte purchased this cottage in 1998

Why Pete Holte chose Coon Valley

I have always enjoyed this property because of its fairly unique setting that includes 2 valleys with lots of hillsides and trees for wildlife habitat and trails throughout for a variety of hiking opportunities. The farm also has numerous springs and streams that provide a place for natural trout reproduction and a relaxing waterfall sound. I guess I have always wanted to share this with other people so that they can enjoy what I live with and with their feedback always enjoy it myself and never take it for granted.

What makes this cottage unique

The setting here is very appealing! The property is surrounded on several sides by running water. Several Waterfalls are on the property and the immediate scenery is incredible throughout the four seasons of the year.
