Gull Landing is a virtually-Beach Front 3 bedroom, 2-bath, 2000 square foot sixties beach house with stunning views. This home reminds you of the original beach house you used to stay in?lots of glass, open beamed tongue & groove vaulted ceiling, wood paneled walls, and a second floor loft. It just oozes that charming beach feel. It?s the third to the last house on a one lane dead end street and has close beach access.

The first floor has a one-car garage and a large laundry room with full-size washer and dryer. A Foosball table and bicycles are also found in the laundry area. The second floor is the main living area, with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and the living, dining and kitchen area. Relax in front of the pellet stove on those stormy winter days or enjoy the afternoon sun out on the large wrap around deck with great views. There is a recliner, a large sofa, and 2 cozy rocking chairs for your comfort. The dining room table seats 6, or 8 if you put in the leaves. A 32-inch HDTV with DVD player and streaming internet TV (Roku) rounds out your time at the beach.

There are 3 bedrooms on the main floor. The master suite has its own beach view deck, laminate wood floors, a king-size bed, and a modern bathroom with an oversized shower! The second bedroom has a queen-size bed, and the 3rd bedroom is set up as an office with a great vintage desk, a queen-sized sleeper sofa, and a marvelous window seat that looks onto the coastal flora. You'll also find a 26-inch HDTV with DVD player. A Wii home video console is connected to the HDTV and many Wii games are in the house. About Leslie

The house was built by our parents in the mid-1960s and we expanded it in the late 1990s. We have tried to maintain the vintage character of the older part of the house.

Growing up in Eugene, Oregon, our family stayed at Gull Landing whenever possible. We are now displaced Oregonians. One of us, Steve, lives in Washington State and the other, Ann, in New Mexico. Heceta Beach is still a wonderful magical getaway for us and our generation of family. Ann and her husband have been bringing their daughter here for 17 years and still haven’t run out of hikes or new places to visit. The house is also perfect for gatherings of family and friends. There is plenty of room for all.

Why Leslie chose Florence

Gull Landing has a wide view of Heceta Beach which is just a few steps away. One can walk the beach northward to Sutton Creek or southward to the jetty. Hiking and other attractions are just moments away. A deck wraps around much of the house so you can always find a sheltered spot outside for reading or watching the ocean. If you happen to get an Oregon coastal storm, the house is cozy and the pellet stove makes for a romantic atmosphere. The house is near the end of a private, dead-end street so there is very little traffic.

What makes this house unique

Nearby are points of interest for everyone. Ten miles away is the world’s largest sea cave, the last known North American home of wild Steller sea lions. The rugged coastal cliffs have many lighthouses, including nearby Heceta Head, one of the most photographed lighthouses in the U.S. Close too are the Newport Aquarium, covered bridges, waterfalls, tide pools, a dive park, an old growth forest, freshwater lakes and even carnivorous plants. Fishing, crabbing, horseback riding, sandboarding, dune buggy rides and golf courses are no more than ten minutes away from this quiet home on a dead end street. Or, walk along the beach immediately in front of the house. The fishing village of Florence has restored docks, a famous Art Deco bridge, historic buildings, and many restaurants. In the winter and early spring, you can sit in the living room and see the spouts of gray whales as they migrate between the Bering Sea and Mexico.

Perfect location, cozy and well equipped

  • 4 of 5

My good friend and I met at this cute place for a three day reunion get together. It has a magnificent view of the ocean from any of three decks and the living room/kitchen. The master suite is huge and having two full bathrooms all on the main floor was great. The kitchen is extremely well stocked with dishes, glasses and cooking equipment. Our only complaints: the furniture was very dusty, and the window covering in the master bedroom is made of a mesh material that affords zero privacy from the street and front deck. I had to unfold the folding privacy screen which did not cover the entire sliding glass doors and hang a blanket over the rest of the exposed window before I felt secure from prying eyes, especially at night. Please, invest in some normal curtains or window blinds. The place would then warrant five stars!

The view is so worth it! Wonderful master bedroom and bath!

Quiet, yet close to town and everything you need! Big shower, small kitchen, but worked great for our needs. Wish the living room had a little more seating, but we just added some chairs from the master when Grandpa and friends came over, cozy! They had ant traps on the kitchen counter with some visitors, I meant to share with them that I found Febreze works great for getting rid of ants and keeping them away, even in the cupboards. Just like home with all the extra touches and supplies. Lovely!

We love the giant Windows looking out to sea. The kitchen was well equipped and the beds comfortable. The area was quiet but not isolated. Being tucked away and yet close to town was a perfect. We will be sure to come back.
