This property is just as listed if not better!
We approached the beginning of the long driveway to one of the most beautiful homes we have seen in Ireland! We were greeted by Imelda who was so friendly and welcoming. She showed us everything we needed to know before we began our stay. She was willing to accommodate anything we needed. The home is just beautiful! Every time we turned a corner, there was another beautifully decorated room. We had our 2 daughters along with our friends family of 5. The nine of us were more than comfortable with plenty of space for all. The
Bedrooms were spacious and all had private baths. The home was clean and the property equally as beautiful. We felt as if we lived in a beautiful estate in Ireland for a few days. One of the best experiences we ever had. We hope to return! Thank you to Imelda for making our stay special for our family! We think about the Flemingstown House all of time.
More than expected - Luxury, Charm, Warmth
Our family of nine stayed at Flemingstown House for six days in September and the time we spent in this spacious and charming home was the highlight of our trip to Ireland. We particularly enjoyed cooking in the large farmhouse kitchen, eating in the dining room, and after eating, sitting around the wood stoves in the parlour and drawing room, chatting, reading and sometimes napping! The house is ideally located for day trips. We visited the Cliffs of Moher, the Rock of Cashel and Cobb, to name a few. For all that the house was marvellous, it was Imelda who made our stay memorable. Gracious, attentive, and entertaining, Imelda made every effort to ensure our stay at Flemingstown House was enjoyable. We would return in a heartbeat.
Fabulous Family Home!
My husband and I stayed at Flemingstown House for five nights with both sets of in-laws. We had a marvelous time! The home is centrally located, so we were able to do several day trips to see the sights of Ireland. It is quaint and cozy, sits far back from the road so it is quiet, has a fireplace which we used (even in July!), an outdoor seating area which was wonderful, and so much room. Every bedroom has an en suite bathroom, which made things incredibly convenient. It is truly a beautiful setting. The best part of the place is the owner, Imelda. She is kind and considerate and willing to do anything to make your stay more comfortable. I would highly recommend staying here - it was a highlight of our trip!
Imelda's beautiful home was the location for our family reunion. A reunion that will go down as one of the best, most epic reunions ever!
The home is just as pictured, if not even more lovely than pictured. We were greeted by green grass and cows grazing in the field. As we approached the home, Imelda was right there for introductions; a delightful host showing us all the rooms of the home and giving us instructions on appliances etc. Every room is furnished exquisitely! The walls are so thick, we heard nothing from the rooms next door. Also every bedroom had its own bathroom and shower!
The kitchen was large and well equipped. Meal prep was made easy! The Aga oven was a favorite for all. We made the best roast we've ever eaten in the Aga! (You must see Joe at the local grocery store. He is the butcher and will set you up with the tastiest meats Ireland has to offer.)
Imelda takes great care in tending to all the details of her home. Every room is spotless! She makes running this large estate look easy~ a sign of a true professional! (she has won prestigious awards for her line of work)
Thank you for sharing your home with us! I do hope we meet again!
Exceptional, dream-come-true experience in the heart of the Irish countryside
I can't imagine a more perfect setting for a large group (we were 11) who want to immerse themselves in the beauty and warmth of Ireland than Flemingstown House. From the moment we turned down the long, tree-lined country lane, we sensed the history and magic of this place. And what a place: a handsome, ivy-covered manor house with several charming gathering spaces, beautifully appointed bedrooms all ensuite, a large chef's kitchen where we made most breakfasts and some dinners, and a large formal dining room with stained glass windows where we ate in fine Irish style when we weren't dining al fresco near the rose gardens where we could hear the wind in the apple trees and, from time to time, the lowing of the black and white bullocks in the pasture.
From our well-situated home base, we took easy and delightful day trips to The Rock of Cashel and the Glen of Aherlow, The Cliffs of Moher, the the Aran Islands and Killarney National Park. We also loved our time spent in the local area--mountain biking in the Ballyhoura Mountains and visiting Loch Gur where we hiked and explored the ruins including an impressive, ancient stone circle.
While I could go on and on about our extraordinary stay at Flemingstown House, I am at a loss for words to express our deep appreciation for our host, Imelda Sheedy King. Her wise, caring and charming presence touched every one of us and imbued our dream-come-true- visit to Ireland with a special Irish magic we will always remember.
Incredible Experience - Stunning Home, Property &
Incredible Experience - Stunning Home, Property & Hostess.
We rented the house for a family birthday vacation. At the height, we had 13 people in the home and it easily accommodated us all. Imelda is a gracious, attentive and thoughtful hostess. And an amazing cook! She checked in periodically to ensure everything was going well. The home is warm and inviting. As mentioned, plenty of room for everyone. And quiet - you couldn't hear people downstairs while in the upstairs bedrooms - great for those who chose to sleep in or go to bed early. Great location. Easy drive from Shannon airport. Home is close enough to a motorway to make travel within the region painless. Nearby town has good pubs and a great supermarket - essential when entertaining and feeding that many people.
