Excellent location, inviting ambiance, very accessible manager....I shall return!!
My husband and I stayed in Karen's apartment in early December. Our plane arrived at 8 am and check in was not until 3:00. I called Karen the day before we left and asked her if there was any place we could store our luggage? Although she was out of the country herself on vacation, she sent instructions to store our luggage in another apartment she owned (that was not being rented) in the house. The apartment itself is nice and had everything we needed. The only complaint that I would have is that it was very cold, but it is located in the basement. We go to DC often, but have never stayed in a VRBO, but after having a good experience we would do it again!
Karen is an awesome host: so responsive and thoughtful
My teenage son and I had a great time staying in this basement apartment soooo close to the Capitol building and Eastern Market. It was a little loud when the apartment next door was occupied but other than that it was near ideal.
Karen’s apartment is in the perfect location. We rode everywhere around DC, visiting all the monuments and museums. We even rode to Arlington Cemetery. The apartment is part of an historic home and is very well maintained with modern fixtures and furnishings. It is close to restaurants, coffee shops, the Eastern Markets and grocery stores (Trader Joes and Safeway). We arrived on Halloween, which is very big on East Capitol Street and enjoyed watching all the trick-or-treaters. Karen was a most gracious host and provided us with everything we needed for our week long stay. I would definitely stay again and recommend Karen’s apartment for your Washington DC stay. Thank you Karen!!
This is an absolutely perfect apartment! It has all the amenities you need in a perfect location for walking to just about anywhere, as it is only eight blocks from the Capitol building. The owner, Karen, was a pleasure to meet and went out of her way to make sure our state was perfect. If we ever decide to come back to DC, staying at this location will be at the top of our list!
It is an easy walk to the US Capitol, Senate Office buildings, Supreme Court, Library of Congress and Folgers Shakespeare Library. Close by are all the Smithsonian Museums on the Mall including the National Gallery of Art, Air and Space Museum, Museum of Natural History, National Archives, American Indian Museum and more.
A couple of metro stops away at Gallery Place are movies, the Shakespeare Theater Company performing at Sidney Harmon Hall and the Lansburgh Theatre, Verizon Center with basketball and hockey. H Street, Georgetown, 14th Street Corridor and Adams Morgan are all within easy access.
