While conveniently close to businesses, it is nestled into a hillside* with old-growth forest behind it, offering a quiet space to recharge and observe the area’s natural beauty. Enjoy views of the Portage Canal and Michigan Tech right from the front porch!


This charming three-bedroom gem in Hancock (Ripley) features a well-appointed kitchen, a first-floor bathroom with shower/bathtub and washer/dryer, a convenient entryway, and a cozy living area. It also offers a full-size bed and generous closet in the first-floor bedroom. The upstairs bedrooms have a queen bed and a twin trundle bed, respectively. With modern amenities such as WiFi, a Smart TV, and a Keurig coffee maker, you’ll enjoy this historic destination in comfort. Whether looking for a peaceful retreat or a convenient base for outdoor adventures, this property has it all.

*Please note that due to the hill, there are eight steps to get into the home, in addition to 3 steps up from the parking area along the street. Concrete one-car (small to mid-size SUV) garage with a manual (hand-lift) garage door. Trucks or larger SUVs will not fit in the garage. There are road restrictions in the winter.

We enjoyed how close the house was to Tech. It was easy to get down to the road along the portage for an early morning run. The house had everything we needed and was very newly updated and clean. Host was easy to contact. I'd stay here again if I was staying more than one night.

40th Birthday Trip

My husband turned 40 this year and decided it was time to take the UP trip he’s been dreaming of. We decided to try a VRBO instead of a hotel as we wanted something homie feeling for the last couple days of our trip. This place was perfection. Enough space for us to spread out but still enjoy time together. Close to tons of different shops and restaurants to explore and in driving distance of Copper Harbor!
