For context, the person who wrote this review never actually stayed at our property. In nearly four years of hosting, we have never had a bed-bug complaint. We took the allegation seriously, paid for a professional inspection that same day, and no evidence of bed bugs was found. We also paid for a deep cleaning to ensure the guests were comfortable. We would never expect anyone to remain somewhere they felt uncomfortable. However, she did not want to end the stay. After three days, she requested compensation while still wanting her adult children to continue staying at the property. We could not honor that but still were gracious hosts. The claim that her adult children sat outside for five hours is false. She picked them up beforehand and specifically stated they would not be at the property during the cleaning. The claim of an owner “delinquency” is also inaccurate. The security gate is independently managed and outside of our control, and access was restored within no time. Finally, we find the emphasis on “no compensation was offered” noteworthy given the circumstances. Our nearly four years of positive guest experiences speak for themselves. Based on the inaccurate claims made in this review, we would not recommend this guest to other hosts.
