This stylish 1 bedroom Artist Loft is located in Long Island City, Queens: the intersection of hip and new!
Architecturally designed and newly renovated, the decor includes original wide plank wood flooring, exposed brick walls and a contemporary kitchen; it overlooks a quiet garden and is flooded with light. It is attractively furnished with an eclectic mix of original artwork, modern furniture and North African carpets and textiles. The master bedroom has a queen size bed and the second bedroom overlooks the garden and has a full size bed. The white tiled bathroom has a shower and tub. Amenities include WiFi, air conditioning, flat screen TV, microwave, coffee-maker, ceiling fan, all linens and a full kitchen. The loft is located two flights up from the street. Smoking is not permitted anywhere in the building or the fire escape.
Long Island City is one of New York's newest up and coming neighborhoods; it has hipster cafes, ethnic restaurants and art galleries right next to old world Italian restaurants. This is the place for gourmet eating with many young chefs setting up shop here! One particularly great local restaurant is Tournesol, a neighborhood fixture, owned and operated by a family from south west France. Also of note is NY's ONLY Michelin starred Mexican restaurant: Case Enrique! For art lovers, PS 1/MoMa Contemporary Art Center, the Noguchi Museum, and Sculpture Center are all near.
In 5 minutes walk to the park on the East River for movie-star Manhattan skyline views! For more fun on the water, take the East River Ferry to Brooklyn and Wall Street. There is also a stunning running track along the river.
In the neighborhood there are also excellent yoga, fitness, and cycle studios, and a CitiBike station (rent a bike) minutes from the loft.
From the Loft you can also walk to nearby hipster Brooklyn (Greenpoint and Williamsburg)

We are two artists, one American painter and one British sculptor, who are avid world travelers ourselves (India, Italy and South East Asia are our favorite destinations!) and enjoy sharing our passionate love of New York with visitors. 'See the Real New York' is our motto! As a result, we offer real 'insider' tips to the best art galleries, museum shows and other events currently on view. As real 'foodies' and 'locavores' we can direct you to the best eats for the best price, from Farmer's Markets to 5 star restaurants, especially in our great Long Island City neighborhood. We personally renovated this apartment with love and sweat and an eye for design, elegance and charm.

Great spot for a stay in NYC
Exactly as advertised. Lovely apartment, stylish, clean and convenient in a really great neighborhood.
Best location ever. Beyond clean. Will definitely stay again
Very clean. Great location
an ideal place to stay in New York
The appartment is spatious, bright with many windows (one with a view of the Chrysler Building), quiet and clean. The decoration is very pleasant with art and paintings from the owners, we felt in a warm and joyful atmosphere. All amenities were as expected (except the supplementary sofa bed which was a bit small, more for a spare bed than for every nights; however the 2 large beds in the rooms were very confortable). David provided all required information for coming and for shops and restaurants around, very efficiently.
We also enjoyed the location of the appartment in Long Island City, it is in a small charming building, just in front of a NYPD station (very reassuring ;-)), in a quiet street, just 50 meters from the metro station running directly to Grand Central (5 minutes) and Time square (10 minutes). All around are all convenience stores and several very good/lovely restaurants (US, Thaï, south america...) cheaper than in Manhattan. The neighborhood is pleasant. East river's banks are only a short walk from the appartment, the view on the skyline is magic, and it's easy to take the ferry to go on the other shore to manhattan, or to Brooklyn and South Manhattan. Sailing along the east river is wonderfull.
We were very lucky, NY marathon ran just in the boulevard next to the appartment and it was a great experience seeing it.
David was very reactive for everything (very appreciable when our flight back was cancelled and we had to stay one more day).
I wish we can stay here again the next time we come in NY.
GREAT LOFT, GREAT LOCATION
This house is perfect for a couple or two couples or small family, the train stop is right there is a big plus. The house is clean and the neighborhood has a lot to offer. Great Place!!!
It was lovely to meet Christian. Hope to have him and his family back again!
The loft gave us a feel of what it is like to live in New York. Long Island City is a wonderful location with a stunning view of the Manhattan skyline. The owners were very attentive to any needs.
An Incredible New York experience
We stayed in the Artist Loft in October 2016 for nearly 2 months. We arrived in the evening and rushed down to Gantry Park on the East River (a short walk away) to see the city and were blown away by the vista of Manhattan. The loft was just perfect, full of wonderfully interesting art by Margaret and David and it is spacious and light. We were very excited to have a view of the Chrysler Building from our lounge room. The loft has all the conveniences of home and was beautifully clean and ready for new guests when we arrived. The entrance to the subway is just on the corner of the street, 2 mins from the front door. The trains are really frequent, in the peak we didn't wait more than 3 mins and we were in Grand Central Station in 5 mins.
Long Island City is a vibrant area and the loft is located just off the main street which is full of great restaurants. There are 2 wonderful supermarkets a short walk away and many other shops where you can get everything you need on a daily basis. Having such a comfortable home away from home made our visit to NYC an incredible experience we will treasure the rest of our lives. Thank you Margaret and David for being such great hosts.
