A gem in paradise. Located in a quiet, safe and private gated community, Villamar 6 is situated in one of the most tranquil areas of Puerto Aventuras backing directly on to a golf course. A four minute walk to the nearest white coral sand beach, and spectacular diving and snorkeling at the world's second largest coral reef. Take a leisurely 10 minute walk to the marina that features the dolphin facility, shops and restaurants.
The village of Puerto Aventuras is centrally located in the Mayan Riviera and is a 30 minute car/taxi or less to ride to many of the Mayan archaeological sites and tourist attractions such as Tulum, Xcaret, Playa Del Carmen’s famous 5th Avenue shops, restaurants and the ferry to Cozumel.
The villa has 2 full bedrooms and three bathrooms. The master suite has a large balcony facing the pool, a walk-in closet and a Jacuzzi. The 2nd bedroom has 2 single beds and an ensuite bathroom with shower. The TV room has direct access to the pool and has a double sofa bed and its own bathroom with shower. In the garden next to the pool you will find a large palapa, a tranquil spot to enjoy lunch or for enjoying the sunset.
We first visited Mexico in 2007 from Ottawa, ON Canada, and had such an amazing time that we knew that the Mayan Riviera was the place for us and we very quickly decided to purchase an investment/retirement property in Puerto Aventuras.
Wendy Shwed purchased this villa in 2009
The property is ideally located approximately an hour from the Cancun airport, off the main highway down the coast between Playa del Carmen and Akumal, and just a short distance further to Tulum. The property is very well suited for couples.
Since we purchased the unit we have visited each year with family and friends and all of the feedback that we have received has been nothing short of 'We had an amazing time, and when can we come back?' There are so many activities & sights that you simply can't cover them all in one visit. As well, we find the trip from Canada and back to be relaxed and short compared to other locations.
We stayed at the casita for almost 2 months and it was excellent. Very clean, bright, spacious, comfortably furnished, big kitchen that was very well equipped. As this is a detached home there is very little noise from neighbours. Lots of linen was included as well as beach towels. We have rented in many different places and this was the best stocked rental we have found. During our stay we had a few maintenance issues but the owner was very quick to respond as was the property management company. We found the owner very easy to deal with and lots of great information for the condo and area was provided.
The patio is lovely and it's just a few steps to a beautiful, clean pool. Most of the time we had the pool to ourselves. The pool is long enough to swim lengths if you're a swimmer. Beyond the pool, is the golf course so it feels very peaceful and private when you are enjoying the back area.
We enjoyed getting to know some of the neighbours, all very friendly and helpful. A real treat was getting to know the private chef next door, Mary Jo. For a very reasonable cost she provides delicious dinners Monday to Friday. It was a treat to have home cooked meals without the work.
We really enjoyed the area of Puerto Aventuras. We felt VERY safe at all times. We walked throughout the area to the village and beaches. We enjoyed our evening walks when it was a little cooler. We much preferred the beach near the Omni Hotel and it was a 10 minute walk. It is worth renting a golf cart at least once to swim in the caletta on the far side of the new development. It is spectacular. If you have mobility issues you would want to rent a golf cart or car for your stay in Puerto Aventuras.
Puerto Aventuras is a great location. There is large grocery store right across through highway. We would walk to it and either walk back or take a taxi for 70 pesos ($5 Cdn). It's easy to get a colectivo right outside the gates to get to Playa Del Carmen, Akumal or Tulum for 30 pesos. Inside PA there are some great restaurants, a few small shops and pharmacies, liquor stores, and if you need a Starbucks fix you will find it at the Dolphin Discovery. There is everything you need.
Whether you are there for a few days or a few months this is an excellent casita.
We stayed at Wendy's condo for one month, and enjoyed every minute of it. It is beautifully decorated and well equipped. The King size bed was comfortable, and so were the couches. There were many TV channels provided and fast internet. We ate every meal outside, and the lounge chairs were appreciated as well. The pool was lovely, and located just outside the patio doors. It was a short walk into town, where we played tennis and ate at several great restaurants. We also had wonderful gelato many times. Maybe too many times! The snorkeling was unbelievable from the Omni Hotel Beach. Some of the best snorkeling we have ever done, and we have snorkeled everywhere from Vieques, PR to Belize. I would not hesitate to recommend this rental.
We are just home after spending four amazing months in this beautiful casita in the heart of Puerto Aventuras, Mexico. We both retired in 2014 and decided that we love the life in PA and feel very fortunate to have found this wonderful town. The locals are very friendly and helpful and the area is very safe. I have often told people that we feel safer here in PA than we do at home. Puerto Aventuras has everything anyone could want for either short or longterm stays.
Our first year of long term rental, we rented a condo which was ok but this last visit we were lucky enough to find this beautiful home. It had everything anyone could possible want. The kitchen (my husband is the cook) was so well equipped from dishes to top of the line pots and pans, and we did not want for anything. Stainless steel appliances and a gas stove for cooking. He was so happy cooking here (and so was I). Being here for four months meant we
could take full advantage of this wonderful kitchen.
The living room was a great place to sit and chat but also my favourite spot to have my morning coffee and look out at the palm trees, listen to the birds singing and look out at the pool.....this is one of the things I miss most. The patio leading out from the living room is private and wonderful to relax on. Many a day we would spend our days here, basking in the sun and jumping in the pool to cool off and watch the golfers as they teed off.
Also, having the extra bathroom on the main floor was an added convenience
With both bedrooms being upstairs, it allows for lots of privacy when you have company. The guest room has its own bathroom with showers, which our guests found great. The master suite, is beautiful and private with its own balcony, jacuzzi bathtub and so much more.
As this is a small complex, we got to know the neighbours and they were very welcoming and helpful as well. We felt truly at home here.
To the owners 0f the casita, Wendy & Dennis, all we can say is thank you again for sharing your wonderful home with us. You were always there whenever there was a small problem to fix and it was taken care of immediately. Our friends that came to visit could not get over the beauty of the villa and how well it was decorated. We certainly found the best home away from home possible and would love to call this place our home again. We do miss it and PA so much.
My wife and I stayed at this wonderful Villa for our Honeymoon. It was my first time to Mexico and my wife's second time. I was astonished on how safe, friendly and absolutely wonderful the entire Mayan Riviera area proved to be. To make things even better, I was still nearly overwhelmed by just how perfect our villa was.
Firstly, the gracious owners had given us an entire booklet with advice on the area, and for the villa itself. Everything was included - it was remarkably helpful! Next, it should be noted that this location was just perfect. It was close to Tulum, close to Playa del Carmen, and very close to Akumel. Puerto Aventuras itself was beautiful, remarkably safe, and had all of the relaxation mixed with excitement that you could possibly hope for. The locals, staff and all of the neighbours were friendly beyond expectation.
The villa itself was nothing short of exceptional. The master bedroom was excellently spaced, and had a lovely king size bed, and an ensuite washroom with show and jacuzzi. The bedroom balcony over looking the pool, and the golf course was a delightful treat as well. We didn't use the 2nd bedroom, but it had everything you would need for a second couple, or kids - including its own full washroom with shower.
The ground floor was great. We found that by staying at our own villa, we had the opportunity to cook much of our own local cuisine, which was a real pleasure. With this in mind, the kitchen was absolutely ideal for making anything from tropical drinks, to local cuisine! It had everything. It was perfect!
The villa backs on the a beautiful semi-private area, where there is a pool, and your own patio. It backs on to a golf course, where you can watch people hit drives through coconut palms with a cool drink in hand. Fantastic!
The beach is closeby, as is the heart of Puerto Aventuras. You can hire golf carts to travel about town, but it isn't required. The area is not only safe, but also simply gorgeous. It certainly encourages walking.
You can order food to the condo, and there is replacement water coolers practically on command.
I can only say that I am rarely at a loss for words, yet this vacation experience has left me nearly speechless.
It was perfection. We will be back - and hopefully it won't be before the bottle of taquila we left behind is finished!
*of note - their recommendation for car rental was spot on. There are ample tours, but car rental worked well for us.
We were so fortunate to stay in this beautiful villa for 2 weeks. We loved everything about it; the location, the beautifully decorated, bright, spacious villa and the warm natural surroundings. It was really nice to stroll the quaint village where the villa is located, shopping, eating out and having drinks. There is even a farmers market, with lots of fresh fruits and veggies! We enjoyed making our own meals and enjoying coffee in the mornings, watching the exotic birds on the many trees surrounding the villa. There are many options to eat out just steps away and those we tried were really good.
It was very convenient and easy to explore all the beaches and attractions in Riviera Maya, as Puerto Aventuras is located very centrally in the area.
We felt absolutely safe going for walks late at night, all the groundskeepers and other staff working in the Villas del Mar were very friendly and helpful.
The beach is 3 minutes walk away and is one of the best spots in the Riviera for snorkeling. There are also many excellent beaches and cenotes nearby for swimming, snorkeling and lounging. Make sure you visit Akumal (10 minute drive) to see the turtles and stingrays.
The owners are amazing, provided lots of useful information for our stay, I never felt so comfortable on vacation.
We would love to go back again.
My girlfriend and I stayed at this villa for 14 days. It truly is paradise. It is spacious, comfortable and located in quiet and lovely surroundings. We loved having breakfast on the rear porch, facing the pool and the golf course.
The condo has a well equipped kitchen with everything you need for cooking your own meals. We figured we would probably be going out to dinner every night, but once we arrived we realized how much we loved the place, so we stayed in and cooked or ordered food to the condo some nights. The pool behind the villa is great - just go in anytime for a swim or a float. It is well maintained and is cleaned every day.
The villa is located close to the Puerto Aventuras community. We were able to walk to all of the restaurants and shops easily, which we definitely enjoyed. The local beach has one of the best places to snorkel as you can see a wide variety of fish in and around the coral. You literally only have to swim out a few meters from shore.
We hired a car for our stay, and Villamar was a great base location, as it was centrally located to all the places of interest along Riviera Maya. We went many times to Playa del Carmen (15 mins away), Akumel (20 mins away), Tulum (30 mins away), and visited many other quiet secluded beaches and cenotes along the entire coast line. We also visited the Coba ruins which was definitely worth a visit. There is also very accessible public transportation to all those places which runs regularly (called collectivos) a short 3 minute walk away from the villa.
There is wifi and satellite tv available at the villa and the owners were very helpful, provided us with lots of useful information prior and during (via email) our visit.
We had the time of our lives, and we wouldn't change a thing about Villamar! The most perfect place for couples and family getaways.
