Friendly reception. Host helped bring bags up to third floor. Note that stairs are very steep. Apartment is spacious, with excellent views from the terrace. Conveniently located in Moorish Quarters near Martim Moniz square. Close to lots of shopping, groceries and restaurants.

The unit is close to Rossio square and easy walking to many sites. Tram access outside the door. However there are too many stairs to climb ( about 80 in total) as there is no lift. This is a challenge for seniors with luggage. Also very noisy: close to hospital so a lot of emergency sirens. Also right next door to a bar so a lot of noise late into the night. It would have been nice to get fresh towels after a couple days there. No paper towels and only one dish towel. The wifi did not work either. Hardwood floors were very noisy. If someone got up in the night it woke others with the squeaking.
Narrow stair case to top floor.

Great location for a good price. Well appointed apartment with a nice balcony with a castle view. Renter should be aware there are three floors of steep stairs to get to unit. And older building has very squeaky floors. But all that said, we would definitely rent again.

This was the 1st time using Vrbo, I sent the host several messages and heard nothing back, thankfully Vrbo managed to contact them about the check in details. When we arrived at the apartment building one of the cleaners was there, they showed us to the apartment but on inspection it wasn’t the one that we had booked. I had specifically chosen the apartment which had a roof terrace and views to the castle and 3 bathrooms - this one had no view, 2 bathrooms which were far from being nice, and noise from upstairs floor boards at all hours throughout the night. We managed to contact the host, who said that the original apartment was being re-decorated as they had damp in there… so they offered us a cancellation or a minor refund… none of these were acceptable but felt that we had no other choice than take the refund considering we had just arrived after 9 hours travel.
