A family of 6 with our last daughter studying at Auburn. Our family has grown to include 6 grand children. Update! We are up to 8 grand children and yes, our last daughter graduated from Auburn in 2017! Automatic raise for us. We still love the lake and I love meeting the guest that stay with us.
JoAnna purchased this House in 2012
Why JoAnna chose Guntersville
For years we traveled to Guntersville from Madison, Alabama. In 2007 we decided to make the move. We found a house on a hill and moved. We were not able to buy property on the lake at that time. In 2012 found this house and made the decision to rent it at a resonable rate so others traveling to this area could enjoy this beautiful lake. This has given us many opportunities to meet people from all over. I have really enjoyed renting The Cottage and making others feel at home during their visit.
What makes this House unique
I love the outside deck area! You can sit in the sun or the shade of the tree. Often you see ducks, geese, squirrels and chipmonks. This is an older home with an arched hall entry. We have updated the flooring and master bath. It is very comfortable and clean!

This was an awesome trip... great experience! I will definitely be coming back.
My husband and I stayed this past week; in town for a family wedding. The Cottage is quaint, clean, and comfortable. Nicely stocked with little amenities that were not expected such as salt and pepper (which we didn't bring), coffee filters, hair dryers, etc. The owner is very responsive and answered questions via text. She also provided things of need very quickly. The outdoor property is beautifully maintained where there is cornhole, horseshoes, a kayak, a firepit, and a nice dock where my husband spent a lot of time fishing! We didn't get to use all of these things due to time responsibilities but it would be a relaxing spot if we had. The downtown area is growing. We browsed several cool antique shops, and found a couple of local restaurants we visited more than once: The Brick (lunch or dinner), and the Food Basket (excellent breakfast). We will definitely return to this location when we come back to town!
Very clean and comfortable with beautiful view of lake and mountains
We stayed here while our oldest was in labor with her first child and it was perfect! I cannot imagine staying in a hotel room when something this cozy is available. Joanna is attentive and ensures everything is perfect.
Great get away! Very Nice!
This was an awesome retreat! Very Clean house. Located close to everything. Everything I needed was there. I wouldn't change a thing.
