PET DOGS I love dogs but have had our struggles with this We've also had many positive experiences in our other lodging facilities. What's most important is that your pet not be locked up all day. We recommend a travel pen or cage if you must leave them for any time. However, you know your dog and are responsible for any damages and all indoor and outdoor cleanup. Please don't let shedding dogs lay on our bedding. I allow up to 2 dogs. There's plenty of room here to walk your dog. There's a nearby beaver dam you can take walks to, fields and woods, and we have direct access to the O&W Rail Trail. There are also many other places to hike/waIlk with a short drive. One really nice dog walk is at nearby Belmont Lake, which is PA Fish and Boat Commission owned, has a nice trail to the flood control dam at the outlet. Up at the Restaurant, we have an outddor dining pavilion that we regularly have customers with dogs visit.
. Equipped Kitchen
If you like to cook and eat in, the kitchen is fully equipped, with comforable seating around a unique Maple slab table. Campfires
This property has a campfire ring and firewood, below the back porch deck. We also have a nice patio and campfire on the Lodge patio.
Grilling
We have an LP Gas Propane Grill and a charcoal grill. Bring your own charcoal, or ask me to obtain some, if you don't have room.
PEACE AND QUIET
I live here when guests aren't renting it. It's remarkable how secluded it is to sit out on the covered porch deck. If you just want a place to escape to, get out of the City, you will get to experience silence, minimal light pollution, and the relaxation you may achieve from reading a good book.
EASE OF ACCESS
If you're traveling from New York City, Hudson Valley, northern or central New Jersey, continuing out Route 17 (aka 86) from the Middletown area is convenient route to here. We're approximately 2.5 hours from NYC, 3.5 hours from Philly.

About the host
Hosted by Jim
Hi, I'm Jim, your host. I've owned/remodeled/modernized/expanded The Lakewood Lodge and Restaurant since 2013. This cabin was built during 2023 and has no sheetrock anywhere in its construciton; all knotty white pine, milled locally here in the Poconos, built by a very talented local craftsman and friend. So, it's a relatively new listing, clean and in a beautiful country setting. Personally, I love the outdoor opportunities here. I've been a fly fisherman for many years and know Upper Delaware Scenic and Recreational River Area well. Some of the best trout fishing on the East Coast is right here, in the West and East branches of the upper Delaware River, which forms the main stem just below Hancock, NY. Professional guides are available for fly fishing, as well as spin casting for Walleye, Stripers and Smallmouth bass. Since the COVID-19 recovery began, our business has been very focused on ATV riding on the O&W Rail Trail, that is emerging to become the Northeast Regional ATV Trail in Pennsylvania. Our extensive remodeling efforts at the Lodge were done with the vision of creating a boutique Country Lodge that appealed to our summertime visitors from the Summer Camp Industry. Serving visiting parents and grandparents attending Summer Camp events. This cabin adds to that offering for serving the county with the most summer camps in the United States. We've been helping summer camp visitors from: Camp Weequahic, Camp Starlight, Independent Lake Camp, Wayne Boys and Girls camps, Island Lake Camp, Camp Pearlman, Camp Poyntelle, Camp Zeke, Camp Westmont.
Why they chose this property
It's a country, luxury cabin feel, very close to the O&W Rail Trail Access from Lakewood Lodge. It's far enough away from the Trail that noise isn't an issue. This is the nicest lodging offering on the Lakewood and Lodge Restaurant 15 acre property. R
What makes this property unique

Great for couples or a small group. Off highway vehicle trailer parking is included in our Trailer Parking Lot.
