We stayed at the house for a week in October with a family of five and enjoyed our stay tremendously. The view is stunning and access to the ocean wonderful. The house was very spacious and equipped very well, and the house gets a great cross breeze front front to back when you open the doors. The neighborhood was nice and safe. Also nicely located in the middle of the island so you can access the north and south of the island. Thank you!

Amazing!

Petra's home is beautiful, relaxing, comfortable, exceeded all expectations. Being able to float and snorkel right outside was amazing. Kitchen had everything we needed and a large refrigerator. Comfortable bedrooms. We enjoyed our stay immensely and would not hesitate to book again. Petra was quick to respond and very helpful. Overall 10/10.

Amazing stay!

This was the perfect property for our family! The views are beautiful. We enjoyed drinking coffee in the morning looking out at the ocean and relaxing at night under the stars. Close to restaurants also! We loved it!

Great for rest and recharge

We had a fantastic time staying here! The property is situated perfectly for decompression from our busy, stressful lives. We absolutely loved sitting out back and having a private viewing of the sunset every evening. We came back ready to charge forward towards another trip around the sun!!

Felt like paradise!

My husband and I loved this property! The house is spacious and the view is spectacular! We really enjoyed being able to open all doors and windows for a cross breeze. The ladder into the water was extra special. We enjoyed being able to snorkel right on the property. Thank you for sharing this beaufiul place!!!

Amazing vacation getaway

We loved the property, location and house! It was great to be able to jump in the water morning or night and not have to beat the crowds at the beaches! We loved watching the resident iguanas sunbath mid morning while drinking coffee on the deck! This place will definitely be on our list when we come back to Curacao someday!

October 2024 Friends Dive Trip

This is our second stay at this property and third for the area! Love the convenience to great dive spots ( reef a few yards out from the ladder) and to some of the dive shops. House worked out perfectly for us. We didn’t go out to eat and primarily cooked at the property. Kitchen had just about everything we needed. We had two surprise guests for breakfast every morning, that seemed to used to getting leftovers. Chuck and Chicka were beautiful iguanas that could smell toast cooking from a mile away. The host Petra was fabulous to work with!

Home Away from Hone

We cannot say enough about this house and our stay on Curacao!! The open air layout of the house made it so that we could enjoy the breezes blowing. The inset bench seating was great while having morning coffee and watching sunsets while the hammocks provided good spots for afternoon naps if we were at the house. We loved being right on the water and being able to snorkel whenever we wanted to. The waters below the house were like swimming in an aquarium and so incredibly calm most days that floating on a raft was great too! The location was so convenient to beaches, town and grocery stores. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed to prepare meals and the view from the kitchen window never got old! We are so thankful to Petra and Jackie for great communication and making this stay possible. When we return to Curacao, this house will definitely be where we stay!

Great ocean location to stay

Overall great time. Excellent sunsets every day and we truly enjoyed our time at the Villa. Petra was great, helpful and easy to reach for both a smooth check in and check out. Overall love our time here with of great memories.

Perfect villa!

The villa was clean, well-appointed (grill, laundry, glassware and outdoor cups/glasses, etc.) and stunning. The neighborhood was safe, with two great restaurants (Di Verse Sauzen, Niffo Huts) within walking distance (9 min. walk). If I had to choose only one, it would be Niffo Hits. Get the bitterballen and the ahi tina. If you’d like to stick your toes in the sand, go to Kokomo Beach (ignore bad reviews, but go with a very relaxed mentality). 9 minute drive! 10 minute drive away are 2 large supermarkets - we only went to the Carrefour - it was lovely. My favorite part was this villa, though. The swim platform, the net, jumping off (carefully) into the sea, grilling out, waking to the crashing of the waves - wonderful. Lest this sound like a paid review, I will tell you that the common area has no air-conditioning and on certain, still days in August, yes, it is hot. The kids did repair to their air conditioned rooms at that point but most days they read in hammocks hung throughout. Enjoy Boka Sami and St. Michiel a- we did! Thank you Petra!

Lovely stay!

The property was well located, between the beaches to the north and Willemstad/beaches to the south. The house was lovely and well furnished, and Petra was prompt in her replies. Everything went smoothly and we had a great time!

Amazing time in Curaçao

If considering this property do not hesitate….we all loved this home! Everything you need to have a fantastic time, close to the market, walk to a fun restaurant, quick drive to flamingos, west end beaches, snorkeling by day and lights by night, gorgeous sunsets from the net over the ocean, Petra the host was welcoming and informative. Paradise

The property felt like I was staying at someone’s well appointed home. It is clear that the property is very loved. Everything was in excellent shape. We appreciate all the areas that we could rest and watch the sea. Loved the net that you could lay on and watch the fish underneath. We snorkeled off the property as a ladder is set up to where you can go directly into the ocean. The snorkeling was very good. There are a couple of areas close to the property that are filled with many varieties of fish that were spectacular! We also visited several beaches that we thoroughly enjoyed. I found it very easy to prepare a few meals in the kitchen as it is set up wonderfully. We also enjoyed several top-notch restaurants in Willemstad. Loved the breeze going through the house all day. Every bedroom has an air conditioner if you feel you need it to sleep at night. Enjoyed seeing all the tropical birds and iguanas on the property. Communication with the property manager was very easy. Jacky answered all our questions in a timely manner. This is probably my favorite VRBO rental ever! Petra, thank you for sharing your home.

We are a European family with 3 kids and love inviting even more family and sharing with friends our vacation in our magic Caribbean home. Purchasing this home we were not looking for a vacation-rental-place, but for a home that makes us feel at home. We are active divers and also love to snorkel. We looked a long time for a home with direct sea access and diving facilities close. We are very family minded and were looking for a home that not only had enough space for ourselves, but also has the opportunity to invite additional family and friends. We were looking for a European-Style and European-Quality construction near the sea. Your contact, Petra, is a very nice Dutch host who not only knows Curaçao for years, but is always available during your stay just in case you need help and orientation, starting from details concerning the home up to recommendation and organizing a private dinner with a chef on the beautiful terrace towards the sea of this home. The combination of this home and Petra makes every stay a perfect moment to relax.

Our family loves the Caribbean, loves the sea in all its versions from enjoying a perfect sunset view up to snorkeling and diving. We are a family with kids and love being at openly built places enjoying tropical weather and facilities. Our family loves sharing and inviting friends and spend quality time together. We felt in love with Curaçao; it has the best of both worlds, Caribbean with a European/Dutch flavor. The beautiful, warm, friendly people inspired us to make this place our home. We love to be integrated within a regular neighborhood and local lifestyle rather than staying at a resort. Therefore the area of Boka Sami (nick named the “gold coast” by its neighbours) was our favorite place. Basically an old fashioned fisherman-village still within the city of Willemstad, close to supermarkets, restaurants, etc.. but with its own relaxed, not resort like local mentality and divers facilities just right next door.
We found this unique oceanfront villa with its breathtaking panoramic and its great story in 2012. A Dutch couple bought in 2009 this beautiful place and built a completely new home for themselves in order to live for the next 20 years and retire at this magic spot. They lived and enjoyed the place until they had to leave the island unexpectedly in 2012 for personal reasons. It was not just the quality of construction, but also the way of how the house was built to live near the sea with a terrace above it, that attracted us. The peaceful and relaxing spirit of the home itself is amazing. We made this home ourselves, overtook a place where this couple enjoyed living during years and we try to keep up the spirit of a real home, rather than a vacation rental place, since we spend a lot of time in this place ourselves each year.
This home is close to the best beaches, close to Willemstad, not in a resort but in a local neighborhood, is perfect for people who love the sea, love diving and snorkeling and it is made to enjoy with kids and/or bigger groups

Our Home is not the typical vacation rental. It used to be a primary home for a Dutch couple who built this place from scratch, in order to live at this home and invite family and friends over from Europe to stay. Together with your host Petra we keep the spirit of a primary ocean front home with direct access to the sea alive. The location of the home is very unique; anyone visiting the home just falls in love with it – it is a quiet real local neighborhood and not a resort. The views of the ocean are breathtaking at all times of the year. Star-filled nights or a full moon shining across the ocean. Even from the kitchen window you can see dolphins swim by. Go midnight snorkeling from your own private stairs to the sea or just sit at the magic table of the terrace enjoying the sun and its incredible sunsets. This terrace table-place is the place we like best of this home – sharing, cooking, having a nice wine or sundowner or even enjoying a private dinner with you own private chef organized by Petra.
