Around the corner you will find restaurants, bars, shops, galleries, markets and lot’s more. Also the museums are close by. Even closer is the Anne Frank House.

Rosies Place is on the first floor of our house, accessible by a steep staircase. It’s more than suitable for 2/3 adults or 2 adults with 2 small children. It has a king size bed and a sofa which we can convert into a single bed or double bed. You have a dining bar, which sit 2/3 adults and a design rocking chair. Candles for a romantic touch are everywhere in Rosies Place.

The kitchen is fully equipped, beside the dishwasher (really important), two induction hobs, fridge, microwave, you will find coffee, tea, milk, sugar, oil and herbs. If you want we can provide breakfast at any time in the morning. Just let us know.

The bathroom has a big rain and hand shower. Towels, soap and shampoo (from Rituals) are provided for you. If you need clean towels just drop them outside in the washing bin and you will have clean ones immediately.

The terrace has SUN ! What else can we say. Sun in the morning for your coffee, sun during your lunch, sun in the afternoon drinking your beer or wine. But he it’s Holland so keep your fingers crossed that the sun will shine :-)

On arrival you will find in Rosies Place :

A nice bottle of white wine (or red if you prefer)

Coffee from Nespresso

Tea from Mr. Jones

Dutch candy (drop) and cookies

Plus a citymap of Amsterdam.

Your bed is already made up and bathroom linen, soap and shampoo (from Rituals) is provided for. Of course you have free WiFi in Rosies Place.

About Astrid and Rick

Hi, We are Astrid (46) and Rick (45), we have two sons, Joris (14) and Jesse (7). Rick is born and raised in Amsterdam and I moved 25 years ago to Amsterdam. Before we settled down we have travelled the world and stayed also at other people houses. We like to think that by staying with locals you’ll see a different city. Of course we will help you to explore the city and if we have the time we will show you around. If the weather permits, and if our schedule allows it we can go for a boot trip or have a drink at our rooftop.

Astrid and Rick purchased this studio in 2001

Why Astrid and Rick chose Amsterdam

It was our dream that one day a small piece of Amsterdam would be ours. Once back in Amsterdam we decided to chase our dream. 15 years ago we bought our town house, which was build in 1897 and stood the test of time really well.

What makes this studio unique

Located in the best part of Amsterdam, called the Jordaan. Our street is really quiet but around the corner you will see the most picturesque street with all little restaurants, bars and shops with in the background the Wester Church. For us one of the reasons to buy the house.

Delightful stay in quiet neighborhood.

  • 4 of 5

Rosie"s place was just as pictured in their listing. Clean, bright and all the amenities one needs for a visit. It was a hike to tram and bus transportation but because walking / biking the norm, certainly not a problem. It had been so long since I visited Amsterdam, I had forgotten how steep the stairs can be. As Astrid had taken our bags up for us on arrival (while we were out visiting the sites) we were spared the initial trek up. Astrid was helpful, answered all questions, even washed and dried some clothes for us. Her family lives in the building. Unfortunately, we didn't get to cross paths much as we were out about every day-but we would not have hesitated getting advice for things to do etc.

The small neighborhood shops, cafe's, bakery are within walking distance but not around the corner. As the grocery market was probably a half mile hike we chose to just eat mostly at the many inviting shops we found on our daily routine.

Amsterdam is fun, vibrant accustomed to the hoards of tourists and filled with tempting treats. We enjoyed our VRBO and would recommend it to all.

Great apartment in quiet neighborhood!

  • 5 of 5

This is such a cute apartment right in the heart of the Jordaan neighborhood. It is on a quiet street but is within walking distance of so many great shops, restaurants and sights! The owners are wonderful and really make you feel like you're at home while you're there. Highly recommended!

A clean and beautiful space

  • 5 of 5

We came home to our first night at Rosie's Place exhausted from a long day of traveling - and we were in for a treat. The space is clean and beautiful with just the right amount of room for making meals, relaxing and resting. The second floor flat is nestled among other flats and homes, but even the back terrace is quiet and private. You wouldn't think you were living in downtown Amsterdam Central! It is close to the grocery stores as well as cafes and restaurants that aren't overwhelmed with tourists. :) It is close enough for walking to the Anne Frank Huis, and we didn't mind the extra bit of steps to Amsterdam Central or the Albert Cuyp Market. So much to see and do! We recommend this place without hesitation and would consider staying again.

July 2017

The studio is centrally located within a short walk to public transport and restaurants. It is on the 2nd level of a private home and feels very safe. It is on a quiet street so sleep is very peaceful and the bdrm area faces the inner courtyard of several homes/apts. There is good air circulation when opening the windows to both the LR and bdrm areas. The decor is modern, the layout was well thought out, the place is very clean and the bldg appears to be structurally sound/renovated. The stairs are narrow and steep however we did not have a problem with this. I loved the floor in this apt, perfect for walking barefoot. There is a lot of natural light that filters through the big windows. The bathrm has modern decor/fixtures with a nice-sized shower and the water pressure is very good. All the appliances are in working order though we did not have need to use the dishwasher. We should have planned to stay longer than the 4days alloted to Amsterdam, I would recommend a full week so you can take day trips to the Hague, Utrecht, Delft. This place is great for a couple or a single person who after a long day of sight-seeing and dinner is ready to put their feet up and relax. Astrid, thank you for being such a gracious host.

Lovely Stay in Amsterdam's Jordaan

  • 5 of 5

We so enjoyed our stay in Rosie's Place this month. We felt very welcome and comfortable in this immaculate apartment. Rick and Astrid were helpful and friendly, we had everything we needed for our home away from home. The area is amazing and we enjoyed walking for hours, getting slightly lost, and meeting helpful locals who got us back on track. A great place to stay!

Excellent - will happily stay here again !

  • 5 of 5

The unit is easy to enjoy, in a terrific location for both sightseeing and being amid a great local neighbourhood, and Astrid is a wonderful natural host. This is easily one of the best rental experiences I've had. Another aspect to mention : our flight from Asia arrived 4 hours late at midnight instead of 8 pm. Luckily it was easy to communicate enroute and have someone waiting for us with the keys, at the right time, a huge relief for this tired traveller.
