2nd time back to this house, we love it! Perfect!

  • 5 of 5

This was our second time staying in this house. Everything is still in immaculate condition, I loved that the spices we bought last year were still in the cabinet :) I mean we are traveling a lot and I enjoy when the kitchen is not completely empty. We had nice relaxing evenings by the fireplace, although it's kind of hard to figure out how it works. Because we spent Christmas in the house, we bought some decoration for the tree and the house, which we left behind. I think it would be nice to keep all the decor in a box and offer it for future guest to use, if they're interested. The location of this house is the best in Driggs, I hope to spend many more vacations at this house ......Thank you!

Beautiful Townhouse close to Teton Canyon and Targhee

  • 4 of 5

We thought the townhouse was exceptional! The location is best for anyone skiing at Targhee or hiking in the canyon. We discovered Targhee closes at the end of September for at least 6 weeks-- but we loved hikes in the canyon-- just above Alta. It is a very long drive to Grand Teton National Park-- not in terms of actual mileage but traffic is very slow-- especially on Moose - Wilson road. We would have preferred hiking in the park everyday but it takes 90 minutes each way and the drive can become tedious-- especially at night in the fog!

I gave 4 stars-- instead of 5-- because of the property management company that " leases" this property. Once Teton Valley real estate charges your credit card, it sends you a "lease" agreement that is totally one sided and contrary to law. There is no indication in advance of charging the credit card that this type of "lease" agreement-- perhaps suitable for a long term rental-- will be forced on you at the last minute. We could have tried to cancel the reservation and I am sure my bank would have disallowed the charges under these circumstances but we were close to our departure date and I had invested much time in choosing a place to stay. Although I do not think the owners of the townhouse are aware of the situation, it is certainly less than ideal. I also was advised that the "owner" on the "other side of the townhouse wall" was very quiet-- this is NOT true, however, they left the day after our arrival.

In summary, it is a wonderful place, Driggs is a great small town, but there are definite drawbacks to staying here.

Owner's Response: Hello, and thank you for your review! We appreciate the feedback on the property as well as our management team. However, we feel your review is being unfair. Our lease agreement is significantly shorter than the terms and conditions you accept when booking on vrbo. In addition, we send the lease agreement to be signed within 24 business hours of booking your reservation, however we did send a reminder at the last minute because we never received a signature. The lease agreement we request to be signed is no different than that of what a hotel would have you sign prior to checking in. In the event any guests have questions about the lease agreement, they are welcome to call or email me prior to signing, as I don't want our guests to feel that we are being unfair. We would have also allowed you to cancel your reservation had we known this made you uncomfortable prior to signing and staying in the town home. We did our best to help you plan your vacation and stay in Teton Valley, ID and would love the opportunity to rent to you again in the future. Have a wonderful day!

The house was clean.... but

  • 3 of 5

Our family stayed three nights at the house. We found it clean and roomy and a good base to visit the spectacular natural sites nearby.

I don't think it is appropriate for older people or very young children as the stairs would be hard for them. The house is very close to the road and one needs to choose between opening windows or the noise of the traffic waking up the people staying in that side of the house. There are "how to" signs around the house written in pencil and hard to read at night.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review and we appreciate your feedback! I will definitely write bolder instructions for all of the windows around the home to make it easier to read. We hope you can visit Teton Valley again soon!
