Our peaceful country escape is equipped for both long or short stays and invites you to cozy days, quality time with loved ones including the furry variety, reading on the deck and enjoying the wildlife, as well as enjoying all that the area has to offer. This serene countryside escape is a short drive or Metro ride from the many attractions of Washington D.C., and near Sugarloaf Mountain, the Royce Hanson Conservation Park, the C&O Canal, and the Potomac River. Enjoy hiking, biking, fishing, and the wineries, casual and fine dining, golf, and the local arts of Poolesville, MD., delight in nearby Lewis Orchards and Homestead Farm, and plan to tour the Countryside Artisans Studios. Garage, one small room and two closets reserved by owner. **Please note that with the closing of White’s Ferry, the drive to Leesburg is about 45 mins. through scenic Point of Rocks.

Why they chose this property

We love our property because it feels remote and rural even though it’s only 4 miles from the sweet little town of Poolesville, where we find every amenity. The house itself is a 1950’s home full of character and cozy comfort. It’s views are to the woods and a large pond, where wildlife abounds. Our resident hawks, owls, foxes, and great blue herons make good company.

What makes this property unique

Our cozy home couldn’t be in a more peaceful and restorative setting. It’s on 8 acres of the Montgomery County Agricultural Reserve, near wineries and restaurants, and the beautiful Potomac River and C&O canal, it’s good for body and soul, a perfect retreat for nurturing the spirit.
