About Bobby Bower

PRO River Outfitters is a local family owned small business. We started the fishing outfitter in 2007 so we could share our knowledge of southern West Virginia with others. Beds, Bass, and Beyond started out as a place for our fishing guests and just evolved through the renovation process into a vacation lodge. If you are considering a visit to the area please call and we will be more than happy to help you with planning your trip.

House is great!

  • 5 of 5

House is just great. We had a nice time. Everything we needed was there. Owner is very easy to communicate with. Plenty of room for 8 people. We had 2 families staying. Probably fabulous in the spring and fall too. There is a big yard with picnic table and fire pit.

Will be back

Very well kept and great location.

  • 5 of 5

Bobby, owner, is very helpful by knowing the area and rafting companies. Clean and comfortable with plenty of space for everyone. We could be in town or adventures on the gorge or Walmart in 15 mins or so. We cooked dinner and found what we needed in the kitchen. We had 5 adults in our group. I would stay there again.

Quiet, perfect launching and resting spot from our wild weekend of rafting

  • 5 of 5

Four bedroom's four guys for a weekend of rafting. Nice porch for a beer. Made breakfast every day before our adventures. Everything was ready for us when we arrived, air conditioner was blazing, refrigerator nice and cold and the house clean and neat as a pin.

Would love more light in the kitchen as we tended to do our planning there as well as play cards in the evening, or a dining room table in the adjoining room with another light in there.

Called Bobby when we were arriving and leaving and he was available immediately answering the little questions. We will go back here when we come again.

Thanks,

Tom

Perfect stay

  • 5 of 5

Stayed at this property for 2 nights with a group of 8 for a whitewater trip. Bobby was great to work with and on top of communication and deposits and such. Rained on us both nights so we were unable to spend much time outside but yard is big and great for a bonfire or corn-hole or other yard games. Ate at Pies and Pints so didn't use the kitchen much but has everything you could need to cook for a group. Enjoyed the house. The multiple rooms are nice for some added privacy for couples/kids/parents also. Had a great stay- would certainly look to come back again!!

Great house! Great location!

  • 5 of 5

We loved this house! There were 8 of us staying there and we all had plenty of room! Super clean and nicely stocked with everything you could possibly need!

The yard was huge, lots of space to play corn hole and have a nice bonfire :)

Very close to rafting and restaurants and lots of other attractions (the bridge, lakes, shopping, etc.) !!!!

I highly recommend this place!

There was plenty of space for our 4 teenagers and both of us. Very nice, clean and relaxing. We would stay here again in a minute. Bobby is excellent to work with and very accommodating.

Beds Bass and Beyond is located just 1.5 miles south of the historic Fayette County Courthouse on Route 16. The 100 year old house has been completely renovated with new electrical, plumbing, central heat/air, kitchen, and bathrooms. The house is located in the heart of New River Country which is one of the nations best areas for float fishing, whitewater rafting, mountain biking, rock climbing, and relaxing in the outdoors. As the county seat of Fayette County, Fayetteville has played a pivotal role in the area’s history. It gained that title in 1873, when the town changed its name from Vandalia. Perched above one of the world’s oldest rivers, it stands to reason that Fayetteville has a lot of history of its own.

Here are some facts about Fayetteville…

Named after the Marquis de Lafayette, George Washington’s famed French advisor during the Revolutionary War. Lafayette’s statue looks upon downtown Fayetteville from the Fayette County Courthouse lawn.

Fayetteville was fought over in the Civil War four times, and was held by both the South and North.

An historic marker at the courthouse square recognizes Fayetteville as the site of the first use of indirect fire during a battle.

Fayetteville, on the rim of the New River Gorge, sits above the lowest sulfur, highest grade coal on earth, once mined extensively during the great coal boom of the early 1900s.

Fayetteville is home the New River Gorge Bridge, completed in 1976, and at the time was the world’s longest arch bridge.

The National Park Service created the New River Gorge National River in 1978, and protects more than 70,000 acres of land in and around the gorge.

The Civil War Trail passes through Fayetteville.

The Fayetteville Historic District includes 75 historic homes and buildings. A walking tour of the district is available.

With a thriving outdoor tourism industry, Fayetteville is an interesting mix of old and new. The history that’s made the town what it is- it’s on the National Register of Historic Places- continues to be a draw for visitors.

The Historic Fayetteville Convention and Visitors Bureau invites you to stop by and our staff will help you discover Fayetteville. The center is located at 310 North Court Street and can assist you with:

making dining and lodging choices

giving directions

customizing itineraries and travel plans

providing maps, brochures and information on attractions and events
