Welcome to Sundew Cottage, perfectly tucked among the trees. With just as much outdoor living space as indoors, you’ll find plenty of room to relax, unwind, and soak up the fresh mountain air.
Located right between Canaan Valley and the charming town of Davis, adventure is waiting in every direction.
Best of all, Sundew Cottage is pet-friendly, so you can bring your four-legged friend along to share in the memories of your mountain getaway.
Sundew Cottage sits on 11 private acres of forest and meadow, giving you a true mountain escape. The land is rich with natural springs, shaded hemlock groves, and lush rhododendron thickets. Wander among mossy fields dotted with huckleberry bushes and extra large boulders, it’s a landscape that feels wild, peaceful, and uniquely West Virginia.
Sundew Cottage has a nearly identical twin house located right next to it, called Trout Lily Cottage. Both cottages are part of the property referred to as "The Fens," and each appropriately named after native plants found in West Virginia wetlands.
Guests have access to the entire house excluding one owners closet under the stairs.

Dogs are welcome, but please plan accordingly, ALL dogs must be crated if you plan on leaving them alone in the house.

I am born and raised in West Virginia. I have traveled all over the world, but if I had my way I'd settle down in Yamba, New South Wales. I've done everything from mustering cattle via horseback, become a barista, graduated college, attended trade school, now own my own business and built two tiny-ish houses. I have a love of sailing, dancing and trying anything new. My general statement to explain myself is "I'm busy following my curiosities."
Why they chose this property
I am from the Canaan Valley area, and while I've traveled a good bit, I couldn't find a better place to continue to call home. I love this neighborhood because of how easy it is to get outdoors without getting in a car and it's close to all the things I love.
What makes this property unique
This property is designed and built by me, your host! It's located directly between the valley and town, making it easy to get to just about anything you want to do while in town.
